Great Video. Any chance you could show or explain how you got the truck springs installed? I have a similar Aristocraft Gondola that I purchased springs for (got it off ebay without springs) but I am really fighting getting them installed on the truck. It looks like you have been thru this with the flat car in the video.
S Wells in this video I ended up just replacing the trucks completely with USA Trains trucks, but I have installed springs in Aristocraft trucks. It is indeed difficult, but just get the spring seated in one end, the bottom of the truck, then compress it, maybe using a small flathead, until you can slide it onto the top piece. Then carefully slide it until it snaps into the spring hole.
@@jrrailroad7631 I really would like to upgrade my flat cars but I am just curious on why you decided to go with all new USA trucks rather than use the aristocraft ones???
I used those just because it was easier to do a lowering procedure on those to make car the right height. Also I believe on this particular car the Aristocraft trucks were all messed up and missing springs. I have nothing against them many of my cars have those original trucks.
What is the width of rail head of g scale rail. I'm not asking the gauge. Rail head thickness or width. Also please tell me the track brand name you are using.
