You didn’t pull the cable to deploy the troll motor. How do you do that? Also mine has an adjustable arm that supports the troll motor head when stowed away. I remove the strap before I launch my boat and the adjustable arm supports it while underway. The lock sounds like a good idea. Tight lines to ya.

Can you leave that lock unhooked, say your alone and self deploying the motor, can you set it to stay unlocked or does it always automatically lock? Hopefully that makes sense.
