Yeah I like Lazydrumner 3, SD3 is better in my opinion.

This solution of yours is unnecessarily complicated and very lengthy in my case. I use Cakewalk Sonar in the studio, and there I just need to change the vitrual instrument in the track. One click. That's all I have to do.
