Windows 10 does sysprep automatically (at least in the recent builds) so at boot it will detect hardware changes and configure itself.

So it removes the intel drivers when you put in the new motherboard and cpu?

Really all you need to do is change your sata controller driver from the intell chipset to standard through device manager. Then swap the parts!!!

Hey man, so when I switch, if I’m currently using windows 11, will I still have all my stuff after? Or will it all get wiped? I’m new to the pc scene and am not sure.

After replacing Intell stuf with AMD stuf and reinstalling Windows and 1 game ETS2 i get huge hiccup's in my Eurotruck game. No fun to play the game like this. I went from a Intel 11900K to a Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Graphics card Nvidia 4090 OC ad stock settings Any one with this game have the same problems ?

Nice! Did you have to install any drivers after installing the new CPU + MOBO?
@RPGglitchy

Hey! I believe I has to double check the usual mobo drivers. Nothing special of note though.

Hi! I am not aware of any changes to windows or bios architecture for this not to work anymore. It should still work! But to be on the safe side, create a backup of your hard drive ;)

It's recommended. You will prepare the OS for different drivers since it's a whole infrastructure over haul

@@peupeuguy310 well i just done with my upgrade without further information from this guy. And everything run flawlessly! Using Asrock B550M pro4 and ryzen 5 5600x, you just need to make sure you not missed any single update before the upgrade. For the first booting you need to be patient cause it take more time for the windows to be ready. Using 1 nvme and 1 hdd im also make sure every port using exactly same with on the previous motherboard, don't know this action have any impact but anyway It just feel safe to do that. I didn't perform system prep before changing my hardware, I'm experiencing continuous crashes when starting all my games on Steam (I also changed Gpu) Can I perform a system prep now and reinstall windows?
@RPGglitchy
@RPGglitchy 2 года назад
Well if you reinstall windows, there is no need to system prep since you'll start over. However, since you changed GPU, have you dried running ddu? (display driver uninstaller). It could help you out

This is for anyone watching this video today in 2022. i'm going from an intel i7-7700k --> AMD Ryzen 7 5800k. Installing a new CPU, MOBO, and RAM. Curious if after i've backed everything up to my HDD, if i can just boot everything up on my SATA SSD (my boot priority right now) and be good to go? I'm on Windows 10, and have my windows access activated with a digital license LINKED to my Microsoft account. Should be able to boot it up, and log into my Microsoft Account/Onedrive correct? (From the comments it seems JUST that easy. But before leaving the BIOS after first bootup, is there anything somebody recommends?) Would you recommend downloading the following to a flashdrive to install IN THE BIOS LATER, before adding in my new hardware?: -Latest BIOS Version -LAN/Audio/VGA/Utilities/SATA Driver -Chipset Driver Appreciate any and all help. First time switching to AMD chipsets!

Yo could you let me know what you did? Im switching from i7 6700 to r5 5600k and i was told i need to do a clean install but i lost my usb drive. Would it just work if i followed this video and plugged my ssd right back into new system?
@hunterrivera4984
@hunterrivera4984 2 года назад
@@miguelcanizares7522 hey man! So basically I just bought an M.2 for like $90. Did a fresh windows install on that (just get an 8GB USB - super cheap) and install the windows installer on there. If you have a backup drive in there, you could also just system image your SSD to that, and wipe the SSD you have now. I basically just did a clean install on my M.2. Installed Windows, and after I got into the desktop, I simply just turned the computer off, plugged in my old SSD & Harddrive without wiping them and i was good to go. Just had to make sure my boot priority was set to the new M.2 and removed the other drives from the backup boots.
