For the M-Tron figure I took one of the visors from the 501st clone specialist from the 501st battle pack and it really adds with the white red and black colors, but love the upgrades and can’t wait for future series!
@@minifigsinspace I mean I belive one of the designers said it was supposed to be a base off doctor kelvin. If ya do want commander cold I think he was in a Chinese new year set (or at least his stunt devil)
Nice video, I like these modifications, my favorite was the M Tron with the green visor. Also for some constructive feedback, the background music was a little loud and distracting at times. Anyway keep up the great work 👍
Thank you for the kind words, I'm glad you like the modifications! I also really appreciate your constructive feedback, that's very helpful to know. I will strive to be more attentive to the volume levels in the future :)
As a new subscriber as of today I'm already loving your videos and it's really pleasing that the focus of your channel is on Lego Space as I'm a Gen Xer who grew up with Lego Space in the 80's. Lego is at it's best with it's own creations rather than it's licensed themes with this latest fantastic CMF series exemplifying that in my humble opinion, good video and keep up the great work :)
Thank you very much for the kind words and feedback! And welcome to the channel, I'm glad that you are enjoying the content so far! :) I have to agree that LEGO's original creations are the best. I've only been a LEGO space fan since 2009, but the 80's space themes are some of my favorite story worlds ever created by LEGO.
That's really cool, I'm glad it's being used outside the Minifigures theme! It's honestly a pretty unique piece and I'm curious to see how it's used in the LEGO fan community :)
I would use the oxygen mask piece from that mutant guy for a damaged looking-like darth vader :P Idk, i don't have the damaged darth vader from 2008 lol
I honestly hadn't thought of customizing the Beetlezoid, but now you have me thinking! I can give it some thought (and building!) and see what happens :)
I have both types of figures, and I can attest that they pair really well together :) Good news is the Blacktron Mutant is currently inexpensive on Bricklink. I was just able to secure a second one to customize into a non-mutant.
I made a modification to the ice planet chain saw. I put the blade directly into the blue piece and the atached the handle to the filled stud on the side. Its hard to explain but i have a video about it on my channle
That's really cool! I believe I understand what you're describing, that's a interesting modification. I might try that out. Out of curiosity, how sturdy is the design compared to the original?
I didn't realize they are that delayed for some countries, that's a huge bummer. I hope New Zealand gets them soon! In my opinion they're definitely worth it :)
Does anyone know what the story is with the mutated Blacktron 2 minifig? Is it maybe just down to a peanut allergy or is it something much more deliberate and sinister. I have noticed a Blacktron agent who is of alien origin is featured in Space Police 3 set number 5981: Raid VPR, possiblity of a connection their maybe?
To my knowledge, LEGO has not released any official lore behind the Blacktron Mutant lore (at least at this time). There could be a connection to Wrench (the green alien from Raid VPR), but I am not aware of one. I know Wrench is related to Kranxx (another orange alien from Space Police 3), but I think they're their own species and not mutants. It's a fun thought if nothing else! I am also curious to know the lore behind the Blacktron Mutant :)
@@minifigsinspaceI was thinking it was like the movie District 9 where a human came in contact with an alien fluid and turned into one of the aliens. This minifigure matches that description as it seems he is slowly mutating into an alien after coming into contact with something.
