thank you so much for watching! if you have any suggestions let me know in the comments. the 3 iron man figures that I have for customising are all midas, so the mark 7 body. CGTrader link: www.cgtrader.com/craftygecko
@@CraftyGecko Looking forward to seeing them. Really cool Peter 2 custom by the way. I just wish Hasbro would've released these 100% accurately to the movie from the start. But then again, we wouldn't get these custom videos on RU-vid.
Wow, you absolutely killed it. That gunmetal looks stunning. Would love to see something similar on Andrew. What varnish do you use? It’s much cleaner than the one I’ve got :)
Your upgrade is spot on mate ,much more screen accurate , youve definitely got rid of the cheapish look it had and made it look like the figuarts version well done!👍
This is such a great video, I’ve been customizing for years now I manly add a lot of mods to Jakks pacific Sonic figures and others . I would love to see a tutorial on how to add toe articulation. 🙏🏾❤️
@@CraftyGecko It doesn’t matter I just want to know how to do it I can figure out the rest. 😅 but marvel legends would be nice, I want to do this on my Jakks pacific Sonic figures. 👍🏾
Thank you so much! That means a lot coming from you, I follow your work its great! Your headsculpts in particular are great, I've been meaning to pick up a hobie brown one but don't have the cash spare rn
Amazing work once again!just want to ask where can you get those steel bits for the boots and toes and what size?might try this but really nervous to do it
I did a special effects course at university so most of it is old dupplies from my projects but you can get them off of ebay or amazon. The smaller one is 1.6 mm but 1.5 would work just fine. The bigger one is 3mm
Very nice work, gotta love that deeper red. I'm honestly just jealous you were are able to get it at all, in Australia we don't have any way to get this set domestically.
@@CraftyGecko It's a toss-up. Sometimes shops carry items like this and other times we're left high and dry, amplified since we don't have a Hasbro Pulse store of our own. Seems like everywhere else in Asia like Hong Kong and Taiwan and Singapore are getting their own Hasbro Pulse site, but we're forgotten about. :v
It was such a pain but I ended up getting this set through a small business here in Australia in the end. I believe RobotKingdom was also shipping the sets here!
Your toe articulation is pretty clean, i love my renew your vows spidey but the toe articulation kinda likes to spread out, not sure if thats the best description, but yours ended up almost better than theirs. Great job all around its a shame they cant get things rigjt the first time
This is great! You fixed pretty much every problem about him, except I think his hips are rly wide and over all the proportions are abit fat, though no much you can do about that
Thank you! Yeah I didn't want to get too much into resculpting, there's a point where it stops being a marvel legends anymore and I still want to keep it somewhat close 😅
I was really let down by the Tobey Spidermen figures that came from NWH. They all have such dumpy silhouettes and odd proportions. Your modifications atleast make the figure alot better than the standard release. Have you though of buying the KO of the old Spiderman 3 revoltech figure? Modifying that guy could make for an interesting video down the road.
The current releases do kind of suck. I'm looking forward to the mafex that was revealed at SDCC tho, that one looks perfect. I owned the revoltech at one point but sold it because the articulation really bothered me
Well, since you're so let down by the NWH Tobey figures that have come out, you still have 2 options left. Mafex has revealed their prototype NWH Peter 2 figure. And the hot toys Peter 2 figure is still to come this year. Hopefully one of those will satisfy you.
@@danielmontero8200 haha Id have to sell a kidney to get a hot toys anything. what I might end up doing is just waiting for NWH hype to die down before buying another old toybiz figure. I grew up with those guys and Id love to own one again.
There's small details that really make the difference. Like a darker blue, the lenses needing to be closer together, the red needing to be less orange, gunmetal weblines etc
I would recommend doing a test on a less important figure to you before doing it on the 3 pack. I tested my ideas on broken figures so I wasn't risking my new ones
Overtime yes. There's no permanent way to prevent it, even big brands like SH figuarts have that problem. But you can slow it down by using a matt lacquer to seal the paint
@Garzilla_4247 no problem. There are some ways you can prevent paint rub permanently but it would require using resin over the top of the paint and basically just creating another layer of plastic over the paint bit it's way more hassle than it's worth
How many action figures has Hasbro made at this point? And they still can’t grasp the concept of how to properly incorporate a dumbbell joint in the neck or just choose not to implement it correctly. Large ball needs to be seated up higher in the neck and then a smaller ball going into the head and you’ll have full range.
Hey, I hope you’re well. I live in the uk, and would be interested in either sending my tobey in for a custom job (same as the one in the video) or purchasing your actual figure. Would you consider any of this? Sorry to sound so forward, but I think you’ve done a brilliant job.
I've tried that on other figures and it wears down over time because it's such a constant moving part. If I were to do it I would need to use an industrial strength lacquer to protect it
