Really enjoyed this two part story. It would be interesting if you could explore creating your own logo and adding it to the watch dial, that would really make it custom!
@@camenskycameron8413 I just wanna make my own logo and have it extruding like my idea is a four leaf clover and the word or Pronoun Quinn cuz it’s my last name
Im in the process of ordering parts for my own field watch. Ive found this series the most down to earth, and helpful one of the many modding videos of RU-vid. Good work dude. The bad thing, is that im already planning my second one before ive even ordered the parts for my first.
I’ve made two just order parts for a third… now I’m deciding which movements to try next haha. I’m giving one of them to my dad for a retirement present though so I’m not counting that one haha.ive been doing NH35A movements. I’m struggling to decide between gmt next or chronograph.
Would you be able to put out a video tutorial on how to search for and find the parts? Like how you make sure the parts will all work with each other, keywords you use to find specific styles of hands, cases, faces…
Yeah I back this, would love to see how you pick and choose what you order and how to make sure you’re getting the right parts - especially for absolute beginners like me
Built my very own after seeing your first watch video and I'm obsessed! I made the mistake of not getting a hand pusher or the fancy blue tack, so the seconds hand took me a while to get on but nothing beats wearing a watch you built every day :)
i just ordered parts yesterday for my first build thanks in part to this series making it look approachable. Its a Seiko and somewhat funnily i did white and silver with the cyan lume and hands
The boy is learning...but twist the rodeco to a point and it's sticky enough to barely pick up the hand by its pointy tip allowing you to place the hand and push fit it with the slightest touch
I dont know guys… probably stuff from Aliexpress is so low priced cause workers dont get paid the right amount for their job there in china? Just asking Maybe somebody knows better.
Oh boy this finger holding the blue tack and trying to push these hands down is shaking so much! This makes me dizzy... I am glad you are not a brain surgeon! BTW, isn't a GMT hand supposed to show you the time of another time zone? Yours will always show the same time as the normal time on your watch... You are missing on something important. This watch would be useful if one has family in another country / time zone and wants to make sure not calling in the middle of the night for example. Can you move the GMT hand only on this watch, without having the minutes/hours hands also being moved? When you moved back all hands to midnight, the second is at 35 seconds ish... Shouldn't this one also be at Midnight to be consistent? I love your enthusiasm.. It is a very beautiful watch :)
I love watching these. I've now built close to 15 watches(I need to stop, help me please) since your 62MAS homage where you got me hooked on this hobby. I can't wait to watch the next one. Cheers
People, I need help! I ordered all the same parts as Elliot to build this watch, but when I received the case, the bezel is not removable so I can't use the tiffany blue one😭. What can I do?? Is it possible to remove the bezel somehow, do you guys know where I can buy blank bezel bases on AliExpress? Elliot you have to help meee😭😭
What usually throws me off on those 200~500 gmt replica type watches are the bracelets jiggling and making a sound. Was wondering if you would be able to find like a really high quality bracelet for the watch
you have inspired me to build my own watch! Just one question though...how is it in terms of weight? My fear is that I'd buy parts that are light and cheap feeling, but look good. Thanks
Really enjoyable content, first video I've seen from you, thanks to the algorithm I noticed you're like myself and shake a lil bit, try and release some of the tension from your arms/hands as best you can when trying to focus, it's easy to get tense under the concentration, but relaxing will ease a lot of those shakes And get yourself a loupe asap! The difference it makes is incredible and you'll have a deeper understanding of the movement you're working on The blue is so nice, don't think it would suit me, but just another video that is getting me tempted to pimp a watch of my own!
Welcome to the custom world. I come from custom cars and trucks with no experience with watches. I'll tell ya when you build something every little thing "wrong" will drive you nuts. Everything I've ever built i can point out the tiniest imperfections that normal people overlook. Even after i been paid and a customer is happy it still drives me nuts when I see it and know. However there is a point you have to learn to let the tiny details go or you go broke. When it's your own thing you go after it. After all you're just wasting your time and not a customer. A hint that wont be worth a hoot for your camera work but worked great when i was a kid building models and small parts is one of those magnifying things on a adjustment arm with a lamp. I used those visior things but the one on the arm I liked better for things you aint moving around.
And gmt hand shud be above hour hand if we speaking with Rolex inspired in mind. P/s if you have near to you any local vapemod vendor you can buy a ceramic tip tweezer.
oyster bracelet is good for daytona's or some of datejust's, for submariner jubilee looks better. And this watch is built too good, for what it actually is. but we can tell that you spent a lot of your time on that. Keep up the good work bro!
i feel like it would probably easier for you to have a much lower chair/much higher desk (that is the setup most matchmaker use) other than that great job
I was asking the same question. My ex and my children have the same shake. My dad was a mechanic by trade but his hobby was clock and watch repair. Both his hands and my own are rock steady. I think it must be the way some people are built.
Great video, very accurate analysis. In my 4.5 years in the game as a watch collector and enthusiast, I collected a lot from amzwatch I was thinking I was able to get a blue SD but I'm not vip enough, but I'm not giving up. Hehe. Great video.
It will sound weird but when my plastic tips tweezers wear out, I just sharpen them with an exacto knife. Works like a charm to make a propper sharp tip
I just deactivated my Aliexpress account as fed up being ripped off, I opted to return untouched my ripoff Chinese mechancal chrono pile of poo, £50 for an $18 dollar piece of junk and the return labels they sent me were broken so I thought to meself, £50 paperweight but that is the last money Aliexpress will get from me... I do intend to turn it from shi*^% to shine as ordered a VK64 movement and will install that instead. Today I am wearing two not one, a pair of Miyota Kinetics, yes Miyota produced a BP10 and a BR10 set of kinetic movements, the BP is the analogue and BR is the chronograph, my BR10 doesn't work well it being a Accurist "pepsi" diver chronograph, however the two BP10's arrived today are "drawer" watches, shoved in a bedside table drawer and forgotten about abs pristine not a mark or dink on either with one a Accurist Pulse in AU20 gold plate, the other a fine Rotary and very much a dress watch... both needed enormous charging and both now settled on solid ticks keeping flawless time... Its funny as my Alpha 1993 Paul Newman Daytona mechanical chronograph I fitted a real Rolex deep sea glidelock bracelet to it, its the glidelock where there central part of the clasp clicks up and you can do instant on the fly adjusts then click it down and it looks like a normal clasp.
In 1 weeks time I have put a oled screen in my original GBC and revived a old seiko 4004 from 1977 so it’s pretty awesome to see one of my favorite RU-vidrs doing the same thing 😁
