Spencer, I've been watching these videos for awhile now and I can safely say you guys aren't stupid. You're doing something that 99% of the world popular doesn't do building a home yourselves from shipping containers. That takes brain, initiative, and hard work. You're doing a great job keep it up.
I second that emotion! You both have overcome several "obstacles of ignorance' with shinning results. I am very impressed. I hope the good Lord blesses you both. GR
I third that statement! You have to be so proud and with great sacrifice on your parts this is terrific! The house on the outside is just so artistically created and neatly arranged and styled! You are an inspiration to all and I second that statement as to how intelligent you both are! Having a child to care for and animals too it’s awesome
Steve Roberts Not to leave out" imagineering , innovations, improvisation, adaptation, n just plain overcoming all challenges n obstacles! " Yup! Certifiable genius! Thanks for sharing! GWW... Ooouuuttt!!!
99% of the world doesn't do it because it costs almost as much as a traditional house of the same size & building codes. People see containers for a few grand and assume cheap house. Not always the case.
I think why people love this channel is all the love, respect, appreciation and friendship these two people show each other. They also have a great partnership working on the house together (no yelling, anger or derision). Its so refreshing.
Inexperience with anything is NOT being stupid. It is simply not knowing and it is a process called "Learning". You can always reflect back on something and see where it could have been done better. That is not being stupid, that is being smart. Don't beat your selves up. There are others that will do that for you. You did great. Now it's time to do something else great. Best wishes.
My first job in the High tech industry was back in 1989. I had a supervisor tell me that I was ignorant, not stupid. The stupid can't [or refuse to] learn; the ignorant are uninformed and eager to learn.
You guys always make me smile! You both just bounce off each other in a comical way! I can’t wait to see you get on with the inside of your house and see your adorable baby girl get a chance to play with toys and enjoy all that inside space! Saying that she has an amazing outside space to play in too!
Hello from Germany - Have you both thought about using a wind generator? In times of storms it can provide you with the electricity that you lack due to the lack of sun.
When she put up lights and then said " We're going to build the fence, I nearly lost it! I instantly thought "Are you going to live in a snowbank and decorate the trees by the river?" Then I heaved a sigh of relief when she said she was kidding. OK!!!! INSIDE WORK! Yay!
When ya'll finally go for the final install I would suggest raising them up to 7 or 8 feet thus allowing for a dual purpose use as a covered/shaded area for outside activities and/or carport. Yes, it would require more structural support and engineering but the pay off due to the dual use would offset that. An additional benefit would be less mess from mowing on the panels or issues with damage from errant cows or other clumsy critters (feel free to include yourselves and the pups in that ). Great video as always.
I agree, cement you in two 5" or 6" pieces of steel well casing so they protrude about 4' or 5' out of ground about 12' apart with line running to house in center. Build your uni brace grid off top of well casing able to hold 6 panels (2×3) each, giving you two arrays and install combiner box in center where battery feed line located. Panels up off ground in safer position yet still accessible for maintenance or cleaning
Yes but her man is even more hardworking. The guy has worked his a..off nonstop he deserves maximum respect! The two fit together like hand and glove and they complement each other perfectly!
I am so impressed with everything you both are doing. Its amazing to watch the transformation. And also seeing your adorable daughter grow!! Can't wait to see the finished product! 👍
I have been following you guys when you bought the containers and you guys have certainly grown but I gotta mention that your story telling skills in the video with editting have grown to a whole new level 🙏🙏
Hey Kenz! Play pens are great for babies when they fall asleep outdoors so they can stretch out with a mosquito net thrown over the top. I love your family!!!💗😎🌴
It's not fair to call yourself stupid for all you first started. There's always a learning curve no matter how experience you were and there's always something wacky that you have to learn, adjust to make it better toward perfection. The point is, you continue to learn from your mistakes and pass success, make it better and better. I usually don't subscribe home improvement type of projects but yours are very practical and inspiring. I am so impressed that you have come so far and accomplished so much. Bravo !
My wife and I have been watching you guys since day one. It is awesome to see you opening your front door!!! Lol congratulations to the both of you on seeing your dreams come true and hanging in there when you guys loose sight of the end! You guys are a beautiful couple and I can't wait to see the finished product and growth. ALL LOVE AND RESPECT
I am glad your off grid projects are moving you closer to move in to your new home. Your banter with each other is so entertaining. Keep up the good work!
I know it seems endless some days but have seen amazing progress!! Proud of you both! Plus you've had a baby girl (whose so precious by the way) in the middle of it!!👍❣️
I Hello, I’m your friend from Ponce, Puerto Rico, I don’t miss any of your programs. Maybe you remember me when you started with the Conext SW, I ask you were to get the batteries. I’m updating my system too, with more 380 watts mono. God bless you and your baby 👶. Good luck. Please be careful. Take care.
I feel as if they are trying to find other things to do. I had to look back, but the inside has been closed in for over 18 months. They must really like that trailer.
James Dindino that’s so crazy because they are doing so many things that can easily wait. They painted the outside of the house twice already. We lived in our house for two years before we painted it at all. They just like to work outside. They have no clue what they are doing. They spend so much time doing everything twice. I get so frustrated that they don’t speak to professionals and learn the right way to do things.
Suggestion: Make a pavilion between the house and pond, right where the solar currently is, and put the panels on its roof. Include a staircase for maintenance. Run 2" conduits for the cabling and pull a rope with the cables so that future upgrades are a breeze. You'll have a nice shady place for the little one(s) to play and whatnot.
Following you all has been a joy! I appreciate all your work and honesty about where you were and where you are! Keep inspiring and keep the faith! YOU ROCK!
I go back and look at your home from the different angles and it amazes me how far you two have come from bare land to what you have now. Your home is beautiful, unique and amazing!!! I still can't believe you both didn't have any education or experience before starting this epic journey. You are such an inspiration to those who follow you.
Your channel is easily one of my top five favorites. I’m always excited to what you’re up to next. You’re definitely living the dream and I’d love to do what you’re doing. The content is amazing and gets me in a good mood always. I’m inspired to one day create my own off grid home. Thank you for that.
I just found your channel today and I can’t stop watching your videos. I was researching my own house build with containers and I’ve learned a lot just from watching you guys
I love the feel of fall in the intro. And I get that you want to decorate for the season, I mean because, YOU GUYS HAVE A HOUSE TO DECORATE! Love from Montana
MORE POWER! 😁 Congrats on the new solar panels! Have you thought of putting a wood stove for heat in your place as a backup? They have really good ones that are efficient and safe for children. Also a backup power source could be from the water flow near by if it has a good current.
I'm so excited and happy for you . Your container home is looking more amazing with every video I watch , cute little family ,Thank you for sharing your life
Thank you for carry us through your life adventures. We have all learned with you as you build your dream house. A lot of channels just show the beginning and end result. I like how you take the time to describe and show the steps to finish each project.
You're amazing. What you had done and keep doing it is so inspiring. Keep the journey just the way you are doing it. Warms huge to the 3 of you. Thank you!
Been watching your channel for a year now. Looking forward to watch every weeks episode. so inspired by your journey. watching from the Philippines 12:46am .
That’s awesome about the mimosa tree. I’ve always been fascinated with how beautiful those trees are but now they also have a new endearing quality with their very own sound!! So cool 😎
Ok, here is what I would do! I would eventually install the rest of the new panels as you probably will do! The 12 old panels I would actually safe for another project... if Spence ever decides on a break first! Gee man, take a breath! So I think knowing Spence by now, maybe you all could use them for a shop for Spence down the line! Seems like he is having a lot of fun building things. I can truly see him building a beautiful playhouse for your little love bug! Also a nice gazebo in front with lights... So many things! Or if you ever decide to build a small maids quarter or something. Whatever you guys decide to do, I am positive it will be awesome! Love you guys! ;D
I watched one of your videos several weeks ago and it was so interesting that I went back to your beginning and watched ALL of your videos. You two are amazing and you have done a fantastic job!! You will love yourselves in years to come for building your house.
Please stop kicking yourselves about how you did not think this out completely, just thank God you now know what you need to know right now. Anyway, we get to see what you are doing and how this is a value to us knowing what and how to install solar equipment and what to expect. This is a God thing and thanks you both for having this show. Thank you oh so much, CHRIS
A windmill would be a great idea. And raising the solar panels up 6 or 8 feet would give you a place to store firewood or just a shade roof. Also if thosehogs or the bull get inside your fence they will not be able to mess with the panels. You are doing a great job. Keep upthe good work and enjoy life.
Guys!! You need to have sweatshirts made with the life uncontained on them, me and the wife would love to order some! Fall is coming!!!! P.s. you are our all time favorite channel to watch we have never missed a video! ❤️
When you look around I bet it feels great just to say, "look what we've done so far". It really is amazing! My parents have their solar panels mounted on their roof, I wondered if that might be an option or on your barn building instead of all 24 or 36 if using the old ones too scattered throuout the yard? Everything is so beautiful, great job you two! 🥰💜
Loving how you guys interact with nature and share that. I want to do this also...Keep inspiring!!! Can't wait till you finally move in and see what's next!
Learning a lot from you guys just since the beginning. Please keep doing what you are doing according to what you want because after all, it's your LIFE BEING UNCONTAINED.
I have been following you both since the beginning of your dream! I am so impressed by your work ethic and your loving relationship!! I am old now, but I still wish I had had the blessing of your relationship. I want you to now I admire you both and respect you and your sweet home and adorable family. Wishing you all the joy and love you could ever hope for. I kind of think a new member will be coming for you next year. Thank you for sharing and God bless you all!!!!! Bonnie
You know, I live in Oregon and we used to have a Mimosa Tree in our old yard. It was the most beautiful tree ever. The Hummingbirds and Bees just LOVED it. However I never once noticed the leaves opening and closing. I may have to plant one in my new yard now. That's like the evening tree version of Morning Glory flowers.
Pure enjoyment..., refreshing..., well done... You’ve unintentionally proven - the journey may actually be MORE important than the destination. You WILL eventually complete your home, but along the way you 3 have given US so much more. Thank you.
Y’all are so impressive! I don’t know how to replace my flooring that needs to be done so badly! Here you guys are building your whole house, putting up solar panels and raising a child! AMAZING!!
So much to comment on: Loved the wig, when I turned 70, big party and I bought about 15 cheapo wigs, so much fun at the party. Christmas Lights so early, they did look awesome. You are going into Fall (Autumn) we have just entered Spring. Great to see those Solar Panels work so well.
@@susanlee9532 I agree. I'd love to see Spencer in a good Stetson with the mustache! Kenzie would look great, too, with her hair all the way down and some boots. Stay safe and healthy. :o) Donna Blackman, Missouri, USA
You weren’t stupid just inexperienced. You have taught so many people so much. No matter what you two do in the future you will be successful because of who you are. Love your vlogs. I’m 71 disabled and with no chance of doing any of the things you have taught me BUT I’ve enjoyed every single video and I don’t know who chose the music but normally music is something I hate about vlogs but I find myself listening to each track. Well done both of you
Congratulations on upgrading your solar panels. No worries on your old set up. Learning as you go is part of the process. All valuable experience and wisdom to share. Will be interesting to see how you expand your system. A/C news is exciting! As a Floridian I know it's not just the heat but also the humidity that wears on you. It will be a blessing and a relief. Take care and God bless.
I love watching the two of you build you own home. And, as said previously, y’all ain’t stupid. I look forward to each new episode. Spencer, you’re an animal. You work so hard to ensure each step is a step forward. Your drive is incredible. Beast mode 24/7. We can’t wait to see the end product. It’s going to be so awesome. Stay safe! 👍🏼
I hope you three are well and it is just that you didn't like the pressure of making a new video every week! Thank you very much for all your inspirational videos
You guys are doing things right. We are also off grid in north central Texas. We were using window units and now have installed a couple of Minni split heat pumps. They very efficient and work great with solar. They soft start units and we can one off if we are low on solar. We plane on installing one more in the near future.
I love these videos and seeing a family like this gives me hope in this crazy world we live in. The video editing and music are incredibly beautiful and really tells a story from the heart. Forget Hollywood and overpaid actors who act in movies that either has killing, immoral messages and blowing everything up. Let’s appreciate these beautiful RU-vid videos created by people who can live in the moment and appreciate the special life we have all been given!
Hello, it is so impressive what you have achieved and I look forward to seeing the way you both relate to each other. It's really inspiring. Best wishes from germany.
