Seeing the cut outs from what the shipping containers originally looked like, made me nostalgic. You guys have come a long way and have done a great job. Can't wait to see you officially start living in it
Definitely, the coolest house on the block. Glad to see Spencer smiling and cracking jokes. You folks must be exhausted. Keep rockin . . . your house is amazing.
Nothing majical when you save an polish yourself for the right life not constant confusion an manipulation to self shock. Learn move on an plan for this then it wont be magical then plans in life.
Atleast 75% of the ppl watching this video wish they could go offgrid and live a more meaningful life thriving on passion basic needs. Wish if we only had the courage.....
I’ll tell you what that guy knows how to look after his family didn’t know how to do any Manuel work and now look there new house looks beautiful I’ll take my hat off to that guy he’s done amazing and he’ll be an amazing dad keep up the good work
Your videos are an oasis in a vast dry land of confusion and chaos. So calming and peaceful. I cannot wait to hear Beau speaking and watching her tear around the house. You guys are amazing! Life will always be full of "pickles". The joy is overcoming them as you two have shown time after time. Praying for your success and safety daily.
That barn is a gem! You can turn it into a proper working space: save you from the sun in the summer and from rain in the winter...plus lots of storage!
Spencer you're such a stud, I'm so impressed with your can do attitude. I've been in construction for 40 yrs and you are awesome with what you both have accomplished. Love following your progress on you tube and keep on rocking on. Oh the little one is getting so big!!!!!
Life in the country gives you freedom to have messy places without neighbors to judge you. Every project I have ever done, and they are many, always turns into a bigger job.
Yes, i used to say...im going to go out and clear the tree line shouldnt take but a couple hours....2 days later i have cleaned the whole wooded area and have a 20’x20’ pile of brush limbs and debris after clearing all the undergrowth. Not to mention when i told my gf i was going to build a dog house once, when she came by i had the floor down for a 16x20 building😂 she asked where the dog house was and i was like...oh yea well you see i had to build this to have something to build the dog house in and....she grabbed a piece of OSB and said well, lets get the floor down before dark. Good times.
Doug Evans lol she was at that time, she thought she wanted a country lifestyle but it didnt work out like most TV shows represented it and she couldnt stand the constant work after work to keep it up so we mutually agreed she needed to return to the city lol. She still drops comes around for the bonfires though.
You 2 are an inspiration to a lot of folks. You are doing a fantastic job building your home and you are showing people that if you want something enough and work hard it can be obtained. I also applaud the fact that you are going to be self sufficient on your electrical. Your child (children?) is going to have a wonderful place to grow up. You both should be so proud of what you are accomplishing.
YOU GUYS ARE SWEET AND AMAZING!!!!! I pray that you will get to enjoy you creation for many many years!!!!! And, I think you have started your own little township; because as soon as you have completed your work, all of your family members will move in. That's is going to be AMAZING!!!!! i love you guys so much, and I always look forward to seeing you. So, I hope that once you have completed your home project, that you will continue to create cool videos of your land and home.
It's a vicious circle. The videos pay for the house but the videos slow down the build of the house. Once the house is finished the income dries up and reality kicks in.
You have a beautiful vibe to your vlogs. I feel you regarding projects going down a rabbit hole, it knocks the enthusiasm out of you until you regroup and except what needs to be done doesn’t it? The ac split system will be a blessing. It’s lovely to see a couple work so well together with respect. Love your little one and pups too💓
"Ma Ma!" Ah, you said my name! Wonderful little miracles. It's wonderful to know that this family of three see & speak to each other all day! (I had a family like that.) Little House on the Prairie.... Beau making her voice know. What a life! ! 💖✌
Firstly I love to guys to bits and the build. Secondly, you are literally building your house and home together, it's beautiful. Finally, who is giving this video a 👎!!! They need to be RU-vid shot!!! Keep trucking SnM 👍❤️
I do the same thing week after week, I have even asked them if they could just please make their video's longer, make more of them or just invite us all over so we can hang out. LOL Their videos always make me " feel like home" :)
I beat the notification. I'm early for a change. I always wonder where she learned her editing/ direction skills. These videos are always well done. Kudos!👍
So much to think through as you tackle each project, yet so delightful to be able to check them off day by day. The sense of accomplishment and joy of satisfaction have to be empowering!
Cute channel. Love the little family. They are making memories that will last forever and teaching that baby how to be real. So many children are being lost who have no clue of the value of their hard work and relationships. Thanks guys! And great job the house is awesome!
Well just think happy thoughts about the next video and then you wont feel do sad! Otherwise there's always raindrops on Rose's and whiskers on kittens.
Janet Gagnon Hi, Janet. I was at first, but then I realized I could just go back and re-watch all the others again (and again, and again)and every time I would find something that I had missed the first times through or a favorite piece of music that was just right for the video. Also, there were favorite moments I loved to see again (Spencer holding Beau for the first time at the hospital, MacKenzie painting the house and doing a little dance while "wearing" Beau, Spencer holding Mac as she cried when they first had running water. Or Spencer in his IO-chewed straw hat, Mac in that glossy, blonde wig and Spencer looking 1970's in the ballcap and the wig. Bear and IO chasing each other under the house and off to herd the cattle.) Whatever these two decide to put in their videos is great with me. I watch them because they are interesting, fun, make a good-looking couple and a lovely family complete with child and dogs, cattle, donkeys, snakes, Asian Lady Beetles, birds, paper wasps and other wild-life. I just want to keep "knowing them for as long as they will let us. Take care, Janet. :o) Donna Blackman, USA
Janet, you are NOT alone my dear, there are so many comments that say the same thing, mine being one of them,....I have written to Kensie and Spencer and asked if they could make the videos longer or just give us one more a week LOL
I think you're going to have to move those pieces of the container to another location, possibly inside the shed. The pieces on the side of the shed may blow down in the wind and in storms. So, I recommend putting them inside the shed and lay them down on the floor in an area you're not using. Just a thought... I am glad you got your air conditioning units. It can be so hot and humid in Texas. Everything looks beautiful. I'm so happy for you both!!!
I've watch you build this home for yourselves from day one an have to say i have a massive amount of respect for both of you.... All the hard work will be worth it an Spencer just think there will be a day where you can just relax on the deck with a nice cold beer... Massive respect guy's for doing something outside the box. Respect from New Zealand
Seeing those old cut outs, it reminds me very much of how long ago I started following you. Now, you have come this far and this close to being able to live off the grid completely.
Great idea to get it cleaned up and better sooner than later. The sheet metal will come in handy for future projects. Love to stay busy doing something that matters because it is your dream home.
I think it would be really fun if you too had a live Q&A. And I agree with Darlene Spencer you are one hard-working man. I know one thing that Rings true now and forever anyone can build a house but it takes a family to build a home. And I do love how this one is turning out. Much love and God bless to you and your family.
The "poison weed" is pokeweed, referred to as poke salad in the South. The young leaves can be cooked like other greens. It has a taste similar to spinach. It especially good with a small amount of bacon drippings and boiled eggs cut in it.
I really enjoy seeing what new mini project each video brings. That is real life. The stuff you don't plan for. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
You do such a great job on your videos. People do not realize the work and set up for each shot and then putting it all together to make the story. They are great living a great life and being together is something that can't be bought. Keep up the great work.
Man Spencer, you really like manual labor. You have a working tractor yet you moved those panels by hand. You also moved the weeds by hand. Very labor intensive. Tilt the bucket down to the edge of the weeds and back up with the front wheels off the ground. It would have pulled out the weeds without cutting into the soil.
This weekend I looked back at some of the first of your videos I watched when I discovered your channel. I believe the first I watched was where you were installing the floor joists between the two containers. The progress that you two have made since then is astonishing. Very much enjoy seeing the new videos as you move ahead.
You guy's make it look so easy, make it look possible. I have so enjoyed every video you have made. I can't wait till you have finished your home, and I bet you are just as excited to finish as well.
When I saw the title about a ir conditioning, that old song, "At Last...." played in my head. You all m6st be SO DANG HAPPY because I know I am happy for you, for sure!!
Y'all are truly amazing. It is so great to see the work y'all have accomplished on your home. It is absolutely beautiful. It blows my mind to know you haven't done anything like this before. God bless y'all.
You two have manage to grow stronger together while building your dream home and creating a family all at the same time! ♥️💯 Spencer works so hard for his little family and it is so beautiful to watch how amazing you both are🙏🏽 May God continue to bless your lovely journey. Thank you for sharing with us🥺
Just a small tip. The AC Disconnect box on the outside is secured with nuts and bolts as you showed in the video. Weld the nuts to the metal so that they stay in place. This way you can remove the box and wood without having to destroy again your dry walls if ever have to remove it from the outside. Just sayin now that you have still access to the backside of it. :-)
Some people call Mimosa trees trash trees, there will be many growing as the blooms throw the seeds. I love them, would love to have a couple in our yard. So glad that you saved that tree.
Funny. I'm from Boston and never even thought of that. But, I live near the ocean and so I worried about how long they could leave them outside before they got rusty.
You guys have truly inspired me to start on my own house and making it a more efficient home I truly thank you for that and like everyone else I truly can't wait until your beautiful home is done this has been an incredible journey for you and everyone watching I think I know that it has inspired me to do more around my house thank you guys so very much
I used this guide to help seal up and insulate my house, it has made a huge difference. www.nrcan.gc.ca/energy-efficiency/energy-efficiency-homes/how-can-i-make-my-home-more-ener/keeping-heat/15768
You guys should feel so proud of yourself for all the hard work you both have done. Plus, do you remember when you all sold your home in Florida and traveled and lived out your lil hoopdie? Wow, you guys have really done it. You guys are amazing! Well done Spencer on the home for not know how you managed to get it done. Impressive for anyone to watch all that you have done.
Been supporting this channel from for more than a year now & watching their videos is very inspirational that what this couple has achieved overall over the past years
I agree but I also agree Trent and Ali are a hard-working team also these young people make it look so easy kudos to all of you young folks out there starting out young and putting your houses together, wishing you all the best of luck
Darlene Tate check out The Hollar Homestead with Ben andMeg they just moved to their place 1 year ago it was a forcloser and Ben remodled their home and Ben and Meg reciently brought a little girl into this world. Ben is also a hard worker check them out I think you will enjoy their channel as well
Just too add, I wasnt trying to be dismissive of the hard work the young couple have done especially with no construction background. Hats off to them sincerely
I think you are both wonderful. Like you I can't wait until the next phase of your magnificent project starts. Your little girl is growing so fast it won't be long until she insists on helping you. That will be interesting. Lots of love and good luck from UK.❤
Spencer... food for thought. Bathrooms and kitchen. IF you want to be able to mount stuff just about anywhere on a wall, one layer of 1/2" OSB behind the layer of sheetrock. It'll give you wood to bite into for things like towel racks, vanity, mirrors, any small kitchen stuff, and make it so you don't have to hit studs for EVERY screw while hanging cabinets, etc. Use scraps of 2x8 between studs for things like grab bars, racks for heavier things (pots/pans/cast iron) etc.
As I was watching this, I realized I had never heard you say anything about Spencer's grandfather having ever come to see the house. Has he been there in the time that you've been working on this to see your progress? Perhaps you should do a video of your grandfather coming to see the house.
Subscribed like 6 months ago. Be hooked. Glad to see you went with mitsubishi heat pump mini splits. They are best in business! I'm a HVAC tech by trade and you guys are off to great start with your install. I highly recommend doing a nitrogen pressure test once your line sets are connected to indoor air handlers. Also proper evacuation with a vacuum pump after that. These a 2 very important steps that DIYER's tend to skip. Not doing will shorted the life of your ac system and cause system to run poorly.... Good job guys 😉👍 edited: note surrounding ac units with stone border with a landscape tie keeps them cleaner from dirt when it rains and adds a nice look to them
I would also recommend on not using the manufacturers flared joints usually have issues with them. Also if yours is the heat pump model you should have raised it off the ground for proper clearance and less problems when in heating mode. I’m a certified Mitsubishi pro heat contractor. It is a must to check for leaks with nitrogen and then pull a vacuum on these unit especially.
Yes as hvac tech i couldn't agree more with these comments. Raise the unit to help with defrost in the cold months as well as pressure and vacuum the line set. Will definitely guarantee the unit will last longer.
Hey! I thought we were the only ones that had the rabbit hole thing going on no matter what we do! Good to hear it's a common event! Lol! I guess you could say that it makes life exciting!🤣❤🙏
If you have determined where the inside units are going to be located, consider hanging the needed drywall now and use them to be comfortable. Those inside bits are easy to take back down when you are ready to finish all the drywall and paint.
I've been following you from the very beginning, not missing one episode and I'm so excited for when it's all done and furnished, it's going to be an Exciting day to celebrate with all your followers 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Several months ago I suggested they try and trace the unit numbers from the container shipper to find out where those units had been around the world. That would be interesting!
@@scoterplow50 I don't understand your problem. Hillary was also an Environmentalist. Love the name "EVERGREEN". They could cut out the name EVERGREEN, keeping the original metal letters and colors, name their new house and make a sign at the front driveway.
@@scoterplow50 Did I offend you in some way? Or are you on some obscure, illegal drug trip? Why did you say that bizarre thing about Hitler liking chocolate? Besides, I was commenting to Jack Long and not to you. Try not to turn this nice, friendly site into another ugly comment section. If you want to do that, go to a different video/channel. Thanks for being so polite and cooperative by following my suggestion. DBB, USA
@@scoterplow50 It is obvious that you are not very intelligent by that stupid comment and by the fact that you don't know the difference between your and you're
@Perlet Menzies Hi, Perlet. But was that Hillary's original intentional use for the containers? Once we create or build something, then sell it, give it away or it gets stolen or mis-used, we have no say-so about how it's used. Naming the containers "EVERGREEN" was, to me, a sign that whoever named them must have been an environmentalist. I also think MacKenzie and Spencer favored the big name on their containers because it meant something to them as well. My first impression of the big name on the containers was that it was being used to carry recycled metals, paper, wood, or to transport...say....Christmas Trees or trees for planting. MacKenzie and Spencer make no secret about wanting to give the containers a second life and they loved the green and white colors and hoped to save them. I doubt if Hillary's original intent for containers named "EVERGREEN" were intended to be used for child trafficking, if indeed they were later used for such a terrible reason.. I feel we should honor this family's videos as they are NOW intended and not lower the discussion to accuse THEM of favoring anyone OR Child trafficking or for any other reason except to build a beautiful, happy home and help to recycle, reuse and repurpose valuable metal. I'm bowing out of this conversational, political trap and going back to my original post about recycling and saving the environment. Hope others do also. Have a nice day. It's newly Spring here and I'm happy with that. Take care, everybody. :o) DBB, USA
Absolutely brilliant, my dears! You really have the 'slowly but surely sussed out' attitude! All love and best wishes to you 3! Claire, Sally the older Goldie (🤞 after a mega operation at nearly 13!), and Lucy the cat! ❤
