Yes, you can definitely upgrade to 16 GB. The one ram slot it is showing is because it is soldered by the company itself. This laptop comes with 1 additional ram slot also.

If you want to put 16 ram over an 8gb ram then it will not work as dual channel but single channel. It needs to be like this- 8x8 or 16x16 or 32x32
