Installing an UPPAbaby Mesa infant car seat into a newer Nissan Rogue. I am not a professional I just wanted to share my experience following the instructions and doing my best to get that car seat installed in the 3 different methods.

Looks like you were pretty thorough. I like that seat base; the mechanisms for adjusting angle and latching (especially the latching) are far better than any of the seats I have used (too many). I've been so frustrated with the whole infant/child/booster situation in general. Like, what percentage of people in this world were once children? So why, in our heavily regulated and technologically advanced world, where seats have been mandatory for decades, do we have $40K family vehicles, with gorgeous interiors and seats nicer than anything in our houses, but child seats are at best an afterthought made of hard plastic that are a pain in the arse to install properly. And whose comfort level for the children in them is dubious. Ok, rant over. Although I think this is the kind of rant you could really latch onto Yuri. Easily as annoying as gloss black.

Just for extra protection and safety try locking in the sides as well as putting the seatbelt through👌🏼

After you clipped in the buckle you are meant to rap the belt around the back of the baby seat to prevent it hitting the front passenger seat if you brake. There is a third blue clip that you didnt use.

My instructions fell out or went MIA before I could use them, so this video helped me in a pinch just minutes before my wife and baby were discharged from the hospital. Thank you for walking through this!!!

Can confirm, a PT Cruiser with a SRT4 in it is better than what most people say. Don't put too much boost or you end up blowing the engine, lol.

I commented on the Straight Pipes channel about watching car reviews with my 9 year old daughter since she's now obsessed with Trackhawks, and now I'm watching the baby product reviews here with my wife because we had twins in November. You've pretty much infiltrated my home 😂😂😂

Installing the seat properly is one thing. Most people don’t tighten the actual straps tight enough with the child. You basically shouldn’t be able to slip your fingers in between the straps and the baby’s chest. Also for newborns they don’t fill the whole set enough so a trick is to roll up a wash cloth in the crotch area to fill the gap between them and the bottom strap. I rock the Nuna Rava model. It has been to Seattle, Vancouver Canada, Hawaii, and San Diego by air and countless other places by car. It is one of the easiest to mount and adjust. Have tore them down to clean and that was not bad. Would definitely trust Nuna for my kids again!

In Europe we have ISO-Fix and you have no need to go somewhere to check if you did it right or not. But will see how steightpipes channel will change. :) I have 3 children so things I check in a car are bit different.

Geez, your anchors couldn't be easier. I had a beast of a time trying to install this base in my Mazda 3 because the anchors were thoroughly covered by the seat leather, so I had to press down hard on the seat to expose them while connecting. Of course, doing that with the connectors ratcheting back in all the time is tough. It's the car's fault, but this base is definitely designed with the assumption that the anchors are easily accessible.

Pro-tip: for non-ratcheting installs, recline the seatback if possible, tighten the belt or strap on the base/carseat, then pull the seatback upright to snug up the fitment. Also, have fun with those 90* doors in a tight parking lot. Next long termer should be a minivan. Sliding doors FTW!

That new rogue added an additional latch so you can install the seat in the middle position. I’d like to see that. Some research says the middle is the most safe position.

I’ve since added it to the middle. It’s nice because it’s a little offset so the passenger rear has full room!

Hi Yuri, you should protect the seat before installing the baby seat, otherwise you will damage the seat leather.

Do you have to apply pressure to secure the base to make sure it turns green after each use? We installed the base, the center turned green, next day we checked, and it went back to red.

Wow ... the self tightening straps is like cheating. Cant tell you how amazing this is compared to the older “push and pull” straps that are nearly fucking impossible to install correctly in any short amount of time.

I guess centre if you can? Passenger if you can’t centre? I assume centre is better because if you get side swiped the seat is farther from the door that gets hit
