Upper Ball Joint Replace GMC Envoy-Trailblazer. Here I replace the Upper Ball Joint in this GMC Envoy-trailblazer. You will need to jack the GMC Envoy-trailblazer up and remove the wheel. Then you can remove the nut holding the axle ,and the nut holding the upper ball joint. Will want to remove the two bolts that hold the brake line to the knuckle, and the antilock brake wire. Then you can pull the top of knuckle out and press the old ball joint out and press the new ball joint in. Then reverse the steps to tear down for reassembly. Then the GMC Envoy-trailblazer can be safe to drive again.
Due to G+ Allowing links to be posted and I do not have time to make sure all links are safe ,ANY post with a link in it will be deleted. Sorry. .

Good vid! I do this very often at blue collar auto repair but mostly on newer dodges and ford trucks. We never do many gm's! A little tip tough pb blaster helps loosen the old ball joint and a little pb blaster on the new one helps sliding it in.

Great video, a few tips I found by just doing this myself, previous owner installed Moog problem solvers, which are oversized and stretch the bore opening, OEM BJs would not fit, I had to return them and get Moog again, which I should have started with anyway. Also, for more room concerning the brake line, you can remove the 2 10mm bolts to the hose bracket on the back of the knuckle and have enough room to tilt the knuckle out further

Most ball joint pres kits have two of those circular rings such as you had at the bottom of the receiving tube. Put the other one on top of the ball joint. The depression on one side will capture the top of the ball joint and the depression on the other side will capture the end of the forcing screw. The press won't be able to slide off the ball joint. Also, always use grease on the forcing screw to reduce wear on its threads.

The press clamp that is being used in this video, the tip comes out of the end of the presser screw and the ball joint stud fits right inside of it. It's much much more simpler to use it that way.

Good video. Apply double or triple thick cardboard shield to fender to protect against damage from press screw. Just use lightweight masking tape so paint doesn't get peeled. Also, wire brush knuckle surface where ball joint seats (under and upper side of knuckle), around hole.

The one part I needed to see wasn't filmed....getting that damn P.O.S clip out of there! you can't get a screwdriver down between the clip and shaft to pry it off even with a hammer, and you have to hit both open ends of it at the same time in order to push it out or it just rotates. These stupid engineers drive me crazy! Why can't they just put the usual snap ring on it!!!
