Why was the E-85 increase so low. With the Proper tuning and cam, should result in 15% increase over gasoline horsepower. Should have a increase horsepower of 35 to 45. The alcohol fuels carry a extra oxygen.

I swear, I've watched these Lq4 videos over and over and I just don't understand the numbers. The stock Lq4 makes like 320ish horsepower. How did they get 411 out of it with only a valvetrain upgrade? Then with a new intake, they're making over 500? I guess I need to get my cammed Lq4 tuned and see where I fall.
Spend $100 and get a set of 706 heads and throw those 317’s in the trash. You’ll make another 40-50 HP.9:5:1 compression with those 317’s and well over 10:5:1 with the 706’s. Unless you’re running big boost 72CC chamber 317 heads are garbage. 706’s or even 799’s milled a lil Should be close to 600 with those mods…. A lil pocket porting wouldn’t hurt either.
Go with the 5.3 flex fuel injectors, you can find good used for cheap and your fuel pump will run out of fuel before the injectors fall short. Good for 400 rwhp
So the lq4 you just ran it with crazy knock till the computer pulled enough timing out off the low octane table till it would make power and relied on short terms to pull enough fuel out to get it to make power . Or it was adding fuel like crazy to be safe . Not even close to the right way of going about getting a engine to run right. Get a hptuner even if you don't know what you guys are doing it's safer then what you did to that poor engine .
That poor engine hard to be knocking like a mofo till the computer pulled enough timing out to save itself. Plus you know the short terms was going crazy I bet 25 % or better for that much of again . And yes 500 ish on them injectors is do able but they would be up there on duty cycle . I'm making 441 hp 406 tq with stock injectors and not even close to maxed out
Most junkyard 35 bucks or eBay 100 with vats removed witch you will need removed to start it . Buy hp tuners to tune and you can remove the vats yourself and save some money
That was a 0411 computer not a Holley . They ran it hard with engine knock till the computer pulled enough timing out to be safe and make power . The short terms will pull fuel out to get it close and the long terms will reset the tables . It's the wrong way to tune a engine and lucky they didn't knock a rod out .
That's not what they showed but yes they had to have run a Holley EFI on it to get them numbers. They had no skill to tune the stock computer or they wouldn't of used a mail order tune . Plus he said it had 10 more degrees of timing. From what they already had tuned in it for just a cam and intake swap you know that knocked like a mofo

You can bore out the 5.3 to a 5.7 but a 6.0 will swap right in just buy a short block and put everything from the 5.3 on it . Your heads are better then the 6.0 heads the rest is the same . Put a cam in it and long tube headers a good tune and you got 450 hp 400 ish tq that intake makes 20 plus hp less power then the stock truck intake everywhere but above 5500 and it cost 1000 for the intake and 400 for the throttle body . If you need more then 450 just turbo your 5.3 and make 700 safe . Gap the piston rings and put valve springs in and do 1000 plus all day long . It's that easy
No e85 is not 85% ethanol, it's from 51% to 90% ethanol depending on where you get it depends on your actual ethanol content. LowEthanolcan destroy a turbo motor just cruising down the highway. Please tell people about that, they make e85 testers for that very reason.
Whats a turbo motor? Never heard of it. However, I have heard of engines that have turbochargers mounted on exhaust manifolds. Turbochargers use oil for lubrication. Ethenoyl is a gas used for combustion. Has absolutely nothing to do with enternal combustion engines. Turbochargers are have propellers that are exhaust driven.

What BobMother FuckinSmith is saying is that if you run your engine on a fuel with lower ethanol content, it can start to pre-detonate and you could destroy your engine. Many people who have turbocharged their engines use E85 because you can run more boost and more timing.

Engines are not dependent on turbochargers for combustion. There is no such thing as a turbo motor. However, an engine can be built to handle the boost from forced induction.
