school: all the busses our students sorry the rest of you will have to walk hom smart student: why dont we call our parents school:why dindt we think of that
FYI over crowding on busses is not the drivers fault....school bus companies do not decide who is on the bus...the school board assigns kids to busses.
I live on a county line. I go to a school that is twelve miles from my house, in my county. The bus leaves school at three o’clock and reaches my house at four, everyday. The kids that live across the county line go to school somewhere else. School starts at 8am. They get on the bus at 6:15. They get home in the evenings at about 4:30. In rural areas kids spend around 1/8 of their day on the school bus. Kids who live in town don’t know how easy they have it.
The honest problem usually is when kids look on the website and see where their stop is and don't usually show up, or when they sign up for transportation in the schools most of the route sheets show 40-60 individuals and then when the driver actually is at the stop only 10 ride to school and 80 want to go home.
My bus has always been late since School started back up and I don’t get home till 5 while my school lets out at 3! I love having no time to play games on my macbook!
A Magnet School, is a special school, that offers special programs the normal public middle or high school cannot provide. For example, a technical magnet school may provide a mechanic class, where you learn how cars work and how to fix them. A normal school cannot provide that class, but a technical magnet school can. After middle or elementary school, it is an option where certain steps are taken to get in, that's all.
There are always news stories about buses being late or wrong stops or this bus driver yelled at the children, blah blah blah. The news never covers how there is a shortage on bus drivers and standby bus drivers because most school transportation contractors are money hungry and instead of only bidding on runs up to their capacity while having backup drivers sit just incase, they always over bid on runs (meaning bidding on more runs than they have staff) then cry to the school districts that they don't have enough staff. Its a simple solution. Adequately staff your office and don't bid on more runs than you have staff for. I love how no one ever talks about this. Also, there is a shortage because school districts give bids out to the lowest bidder, therefore forcing contractors to keep wages low and no benefits, adding to the recruitment and hiring problem. Maybe if the bids were also awarded based on a past performance factor, we wouldn't have any of these problems.
if you live 5 miles from school, one does not simply ride bike or walk. They get a free ride from a bus and only have to walk 2 blocks to get to the bus stop.
Um when i was in middle/high school, it was quicker to ride a bike with all the stops and time waiting for the bus, and then you could go home for lunch if u want
Well there's always the option to pick up your kids your self if you don't want to wait some times is hard for the driver to organize them self when there's to many student and more when is the first days of school
Its not even the county's fleet, its first student of course, the worst driver on my county bus route is on one of the busses I ride, no. 13, and he's being fired
i have to wait an hour for my kid to get picked up everyday and comes at crazy times all the time. Ive called the bus garage many times wondering whats going on especially when its -10 and my 4 year old sees no sign of his bus anywhere. I n return they blame the parents if they miss the bus even though it comes at different times. I live in the suburbs too and cannot see the reasoning on having a the same schedule as a cable repair man.
On a none Monday I get out of school at 3:12. But I get home at 4:00. I'm the first stop and last stop. It's fun because k just download a Netflix show and watch it 😂
