I like working on Stevie Wonder classics so I picked this one. Had to go back several times to remix tracks to get the right sound. This sounds great in the headphones. Hope you like it!
I could be wrong, but I think I recall reading somewhere that Marvin Gaye is playing the drums on this recording. It is a fact that he was Stevie's drummer.
Lyrics: Baby, ev’rything is alright, uptight, out of sight Baby, ev’rything is alright, uptight, out of sight I’m a poor man’s son, from across the railroad tracks The only shirt I own is hangin’ on my back But I’m the envy of ev’ry single guy Since I’m the apple of my girl’s eye When we go out steppin’ on the town for a while My money’s low and my suit’s out of style But it’s alright if my clothes aren’t new Out of sight because my heart is true She says, baby, ev’rything is alright, uptight, out of sight Baby, ev’rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight She’s a pearl of a girl, I guess that’s what you might say I guess her folks brought her up that way The right side of the tracks, she was born and raised In a great big old house, full of butlers and maids She says no one is better than I, I know I’m just an average guy No football hero or smooth Don Juan Got empty pockets, you see I’m a poor man’s son Can’t give her the things that money can’t buy But I’ll never, never, never make my baby cry And it’s alright, my clothes aren’t new Out of sight because my heart is true She says, baby, ev’rything is alright, uptight, out of sight Baby, ev’rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight Alright, well, I can’t do, out of sight because my heart is true She says, baby, ev’rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight Baby, ev’rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight Baby, ev’rything is alright, uptight, ha ha ha ha ha-ha, yeah Baby, ev’rything is alright, uptight, way out of sight Baby, ev’rything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight……
WOW! An amazing job on this classic. You've managed to separate the background vocal parts that give them a clarity like never before- you can really hear the nuances of the harmonies that have been lost in the original mix for more than 50 years! The extended section- I've never heard these riffs before, where did you find them- certainly not on the original album version!
I'd never heard it either till the other day searching around and came across this version so I thought it would be the best one to enhance. It appears to be a remastered version which is why it sounds so good. I converted the digital file up to 64 bit for digital multi tracking which gives it a wide stereo effect with the addition of instrument tracks. Kenn
@@cinematic35 Thanks for taking time to reply. Which site did you find it on? I'm a Stevie superfan and have multiple versions of the track and it's driving me mad I've never heard this part anywhere before!
