in a small community recording studio in my home town, went on to compose several million selling video game soundtracks, a few albums that did well and a couple of sci fi films, along with working at weta workshop and magic leap on augmented reality audio programming among other things, i had classical training on the piano since i was 4, finished my grades early, spent my teenage years on the amiga 500 with 4 track tascams, toured extensively as a one man band electronic act called "module" now I live by the ocean and still composing for projects and getting through recording and producing the 34 songs i wrote over the last few years! :) but yes, life is good and im blessed and happy.

I think a lot of people will watch that and say he had a lucky break with Ronson making the call to his school, but he’s obviously put in the already years of work at such a young age and had the curiosity and desire to learn all of that old gear, then moved to another country to study and basically lived in the studio, you have to feel that is a guy who would have made it one way or the other. Classic case of luck = preparation + opportunity. Really enjoyed the interview

Thanks you guys! 😀😀 I think I was 9 or 10, when I first started trying to record things. A lot of experiments trying to get live things to sound like they did live. Then just as long trying to talk adults into operating the recording process like I would if I could be with them at the same time I needed their help positioning the machine. It was the same with the 6mm movie camera. We had the little movie camera earlier. No one would ever listen until after we got all our footage of Dinosaur National Park, overlooking Utah in the valley, from the Colorado Western Front high on the mountains. 🤣 I feel like Willy Wonka a lot.

Soon after i was searching for all their catalog (pre internet), then learned guitar, bass, drums, piano, singing. Then I started producing music, went to college. All because of them. They are like drug.

To me Mark Ronson is one of the problems of British music. And British music didn't really make it to 21st century, 60s through 90s it kicked ass and there hasn't been much since. And as for Mark, I think AI could do better than him. Sorry for the harsh words, typing this before breakfast.

Interesting opinion, although not born out by fact. Of the last 21 years there has been 8 UK Artists Albums that have had the biggest selling album in the world, 7 US, 2 Canadians, a Korean and the others are compilations. For instance Adele’s 21 alone has sold 31 million albums, almost twice as much as the nearest competitor. Then we have Coldplay, Amy Winehouse, Ed Sheehan etc who have all had the biggest selling albums in the world. I do hope the coffee kicked in! Haha
