Alot of these buildings weren't being used even when the centre was operating. They were left to deteriorate on purpose then shown how bad they were to acknowledge the need for change.
Ah that makes sense. Demolition by neglect for the buildings; and allowing the system to collapse. Must have been even more miserable for residents having dilapidated surroundings.
You’ll see multiple buildings in this video. Many have been demolished as the site has been developed into an aged care village. Last time I went, access was easy but choices were limited.
if you knew what went on in there i think you would not have video it you would have burnt it to the ground i for one would have give you the match to do it
I can only imagine the suffering that would make someone want to destroy a facility like this. As an outsider, I was pleased to be able to document the spaces to help our society remember them. If we no longer remember, there is no ongoing accountability. I’m happy to hear more from you about what you or those you care about experienced at Kimberley Centre.
