wow this takes me back to a little dingy studio ..... The car horn always has me as to how on earth did we make a riff from a car horn . Lol . Thanks for all the great comments ,
Micky Finn oh my goodness..What a tune.Amazing in the right environment.Sound system , people, Tasco Warehouse.Want to make a dance track? I had a demo played at ministry once that was received well.Wrong people and lost opportunities. If u don't ask! :)
Goosebumps! It's 2022 and I still don't have one regret from those amazing years. Future generations will never have that time of freedom and happiness. We were blessed.
@@stephenlamley541 Sorry to hear that. I've got friends who struggled later on in a bad way. I probably caned it to long. But got married, had kids and moved away and I stopped. You make a good point that it wasn't all as great as it seemed.
@@stephenlamley541 I get it man, the DJ lifestyle of the 90's took me down to my knees in the 2000's but no regrets in retrospect because that's a waste of time. I survived and so did this timeless music. UK hardcore breaks are the shit and I was a few years off from raving when it was huge. I started collecting these tracks on vinyl pretty early on - very exciting part of electronic music history for me.
No regrets. Spent time inside, pulled through, family now, kids, good job, in my late 40s, grown up and living life. But i always look back to the early/mid 90s. Best times of my life, will never be beaten, and glad to have been a part of it
I was 15 years old and just walked into Amnesia House @ 11pm with some friends at Donnington Warehouse 1991 and heard this tune. It was completely ahead of its time. That bass was 100% fresh and original, nothing else at the time sounded like it. Great tune. Respect due to Mickey "Slim" Finn.
Was that Amnesia / Nemesis in December 1991 ? Rozalla was live PA at the start of the night. My first all nighter. So many great times after that night.
Do you know what, I have just re-looked at the flyer and I do think it was that one. This was my first big Warehouse rave. I went to others at the Hummingbird in Birmingham in 1991, but this was the first big one. I also heard Rozalla at Fantazia Second Sight at the Westpoint Exhibition Centre in Exeter in February 1992. Great memories. The world is a different place now. I have been to recent 'Old Skool' events, but it is not the same.
Micky do you remember Laysdown setting up your rig and after partying all night we would go get back on it. This tune was one of the favourites and we would be dancing into the evening memories. Bless🙏 all you party ravers never leaves your soul.
Dude, I wish you could've too cos there are no words to describe the way it felt. Im 50 now, and am only just beginning to understand what it was. The energy was so immense. In the 90s the future genuinely looked rosy. But it wasn't to be. Just be free man.. Don't get trapped in their BS system
This still makes the hairs stand up. Such a massive tune of 1991. That bassline, the funky drummer break and then you got to the infamous vocals. Take me back!
When everyone sings along to “Naaaa Whoopo OoooooOoopop Eyea”, “AaaaaaaaEeeeeegirl ooooh yea we all live as one family”, everyone is one it feeling the same thing, eyes rolling into the back of their skulls, this tune captured the thing between ecstasy and music how it goes together, you got that lovey feeling and just wanted to hug everyone, this is the sound of the 90s, that and the stabs in hardcore
This has to be [without ANY doubt] the best ever Progressive Hardcore track ever produced - seriously influenced the soon-to-come Jungle/Drum and Bass movement!
also the amiga had a great sound chip and software such as technosound turbo, i used to use my amiga for raves and partys.. the best computer a 15 year could ever need (back in 1993) :D
Boy did I use to bounce to this tune wanna do it again, the shuffle and getting everyone on it with my crazy moves bring it back. Rushing my nuts off. I can feel that base going right through my body wow anyone wanna join me. Bless you all 🙏🙏🙏 one family.
@@leeblain4474 wow. What a friggin TUNEEEEE.Has to be in my top 5.Narra mind, top 5.One tribe- what have you done.Alwsys thought I would have been making tunes myself.I did, but not the way I wanted. Had a demo played at Ministry one night.Knew quite a few people that could have linked me up such as my brother was a DJ but didn't.Self servers. The girl that never made it! :( Lol Love this track.
Anyone want to make a track? Nothing to loose.Send me some music like this, please and I will write lyrics and vocalise..I'm the girl that never made it!Nothing to loose. Tasco warehouse this reminds me of.Masterpiece.
This was the very first tune i heard at Castlemoreton, funny how some memories stick, set the tone for a top messy weekend, banger of a tune.. and heard everywhere 91 - 92
This tune is and was the iconic tune of my era when it came to raves - Every scene I was at this tune always brought me up. What a mental era the rave scene was!
Pure Class + Ultimate BANGER!!! 😎🔊🔊⚡ SO ahead of its time + Massive game changer in UK Dance music! Early 90s were timeless memories, as a 16 yr old...Good Flippin Times! 😍💯🤙🏼
How bloody Amazing did this tune used to be a rave with the biggest speakers, the best spirits to rave with , lasers, etc. .The production of beats used to drive us all into a spiritual, funky gathering..Connected to universe, self, music and all those in the house! TASCO Warehouse, Nathan Way :)
This is still such an awesome track and one I credit with making me fall in love with Drum 'n' Bass. Still sounds so good - Mickey Finn, you truly deserve this 👏
Man I got this tune in South Africa (yes it made it all the way there) 92 ...this tune is raw as fuck....started me on my path...unbelievable.... love it to this day ...Thank Micky Finn...you led me on my path..
This is one of those records where you can close your eyes!! and there you are 😁 balcony at the Astoria for me Lasers slowly moving down, people's hands reaching though. Smoke machines on! Grin from ear to ear! Good times!!!
That sub-bass used to shake all the dust and rust down in the illegal warehouses in Sydney when played...by the end of the track that dust turned to spots of sweat mixed with the dust. Staining clothes forever...the indelible times of early illegal raves.
Mad as you like True legend of the jungle era and still killing it today A true pioneer of the jungle sound blending soul classics rare grooves reggae lovers rock hip hop and house in inna bad boy jungle mix Big up my Family To the legend that is MICKEY KING OF THE DRUMS FINN !!!!!!!😉😀
Did for the hardcore world what MAW did a couple of years later for the house world with The Bomb. Both have super long percussive intros, followed by a ridiculously uplifting vocal drop. Hearing either for the first time in a club was a special moment.
What a blood track don't make em like this anymore. The memories of the 90s will never leave me. The first time hearing these tracks all those years ago .Still being played today awesome 💥💥💥🔥🔥👌👌 thanks for the memories micky finn
Ooooh wow! If I tried to dance like I did back then, I would dislocate something. Still no harm in trying 😳 The amount of times I’ve completely lost myself in this is....well it just is omg! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 goosebumps
This was my favourite tune when I used to go out clubbing, & I can still see why, it's a little more exciting than some other club songs & has those unifying lyrics that are right up my street too :)
100% the best hardcore breakbeat tune of the era for me. It killed it on the floor always - never gets old either. Just nice raw breaks and mad bass. Lovely stuff - big thanks for this!
My first time in Shelleys in Stoke.. it took me away.. and even more so an unforgettable night at Amnesia House Book of Love at Brafield Stadium. This tune has stayed with me and even now at 51yrs old still takes me back. Love it.
Amazing how music does it’s time travel trick and takes you there complete with hairs standing up and that feeling of every emotion rushing through your mind body and soul
One of the finest DJs I had the pleasure of listening to I’ll never forget andromeda 8 in Birmingham when you came on in the morning and opened up with General Levy’s wicked and MC Lennie made you wheel it up 4 times then you absolutely smashed the place to bits with your set Respect Bad Boy Micky Finn You da man x
