WOW... What a magical song! That's what I call ART!! One of my favourite ESC songs ever, still listen to it on a regular basis ❤️ They definitely deserved to win back in 2003!!
In 2003, I was in front of my TV screen watching Eurovision Song Contest. I didn't feel enthusiastic expecting to hear some boring songs most of time at this contest once more. It was the case mostly that year again. But suddenly the Belgian entry was announced & the magic could arise... I immediately fell in love with this song & enjoyed the classy performance of the band on stage. When it was time to vote, of course I voted for Belgium. The country reached the 1rst rank several times during the voting time. But at the end Turkey won and Urban Trad was ranked at the 2nd place. I really felt disappointed because the Belgian entry was much better than the Turkish one artistically. But I only forgot that most of people prefer to see some women shake their boobs & their butt instead of giving importance to art & music. However, "Sanomi" was truly like an "UFO" among all the songs in 2003. Well done my Belgian neighbours! Good work stays in hearts & minds.
To be fair, Turkish entry wasn't jusk shaking and dancing, it too had strong musical and vocal components. But I agree that this particular song from Belgium was really magical. That was the first Eurovision that I watched. :)
I was watching the contest with my wife and we usually have a guess as to who would win.... When they came on, as soon as the chorus started I was like “There is your winner”. They were so much better than the others by far. Alas I was wrong and I think Turkey won.
@@danfoti1516 As I remember from an interview to Urban Trad, they said the song it's in this artificial language to give people the opportunity to have their own interpretation of the song. :)
in 2003 i had a very nice contact to Pierre Barbrioux, He was the webmaster of the website, have made some Desktop wallpapers for Urban Trad, wonderful Times..
this is cause the second one is not the original one. the original one (Soetkin) was exchanged because of her old (and actually fake) ultra right political views
