Be careful. My wife and I went to Paraguay for the residency visa. Our attorney Jeronimo Finestra was very nice at first. After 6 months of no progress we left. I have about $10000 in a bank account there that I will probably never see and I just wrote it off at this point as a waste of our time and $20000.
Be careful. I went down to Paraguay with my Taiwanese wife to do the residency visa. We were told it would not take long. We decided to head back to the U.S. after about 6 months of no progress. I still have $10000 in a bank account down there and my attorney Jeronimo Finestra has blown me off. Still no residency and I'm writing it off as about a $20000 loss and a waste of our time. He kept wanting more money to hire what he called a "fixer." A person that had political connections and could move things along. I agreed once and when I declined paying additional money for the fixer a second time he stopped helping.
Jeronimo Finestra is a scammer. I had a terrible experience with him as well. In fact, almost all of the agencies are scammers. My story is long and awful as well.
The story sounds very fake and implausible. Nobody would just write off $20,000 as if it was $300. Also, why would someone assume that you could magically get the permanent residency within six months?
@@DeSteffe I'm very much an urban sort, so individual mileage may vary - but I loved Asunción. Went down there purely for a "Plan B," but now definitely looking to expand my presence. Once again - this is a city dweller perspective... Can't speak to the country as a whole.

@@TheWanderingInvestor Its unfortunate but would love to see some content from Paraguay. I knew very little about this country but the more I look into it, it seems like a really nice place.
@@jesusisking6186 Right now it's frozen since yesterday. The immigration authorities will soon give an update on how they will implement and interpret the new rules. Send Aleksandr an email and he'll keep you posted.
@@TheWanderingInvestor oh ok.. But is there any specific reason for that? And it's no where written on their website or any article regarding this. So indian citizens are not eligible for residency program by investment?
@@TechSkool By investment. But not the free one. But even the investment one they make it complicated. It won’t be on their website. It’s an unofficial policy. They know that if they made it too easy for Indians a million would show up.
@@TheWanderingInvestor yeah that I understand, how about if I come there and then apply for it? I love Paraguay because as it is beautiful and safe for the family, however feeling sad to hear this info about complexity.
Very interesting video and very informative. Is Alek's services still available? Are we able to buy land in Paraguay? Can Alek help with this also? I'm looking to go there in December. Any information you can provide would be great; love what you are doing and I signed up for newsletter.
Judging by the other comments, seems like there's lots of scammers in the space. How confident are you that your Aleksandr is legit? Are you happy to vouch for him?
@@DeSteffe Changes happened this morning unfortunately. The new programme seems to be coming into effect from November 😕. It’s still cheap and doable, but will require more trips.
@@TheWanderingInvestor so now you absolutely need to deposit $5000? Can you use that money later or do you need to maintain the amount in a paraguay bank? I’m on a fixed income, so that is actually a lot of money to have tied up…
With the new law since 19 october 2022 shouldn't invest in Paraguay anymore. Many people are leaving the country and no new ones are coming because of the new law. Houses and land are no longer so easy to sell.
