yeah, but that's not really a fair comparison. That season the NHL doubled from the Original Six teams to 12, and the new teams were ALL put in the West Division. Because of the format, one of the new teams was going to make the cup final. The Blues happened to be that team in both of those 1st seasons (including winning all but 1 game by 3+ goals in the 68-69 playoffs).
