Without question one of the most stunningly beautiful creatures ever to grace this earth. This was her prime. She's not born "in Central Europe". She was born in Switzerland.
Ursula Andress is very beautiful woman. If Marilyn Monroe was the main sex symbol of the 50's, Ursula was the main sex symbol of the 60's. Ursula's beauty and manner of acting are unique. She was the first and most memorable Bond girl.
The "other" James Bond movie was You Only Live Twice. The 1967 version of Casino Royale actually was a James Bond spoof starring David Niven, Woody Allen and Ursula Andress. The "real" Bond film that year was produced by regular Bond producers Albert Broccoli and Harry Saltzman and, again, starred Sean Connery.
@@irish66 Which would not be a problem for learning parts phonetically if she had a good ear. Even so, she was not asked to know, but to look and sound sweet, so she may have not sounded "fair" enough for a heroine of the time to the producers, with or without linguistic knowledge: she was a Bond girl, FFS. Compare that with the dubbing of Gert Fröbe, because he sounded too much like an average foreign gentleman, without the required off-putting, foreign thick accent and sinister speech required in a Bond villain.
I remember seeing her in Woody Allen's What's Up Pussycat (I think that's the title) when I was a kid. I've never forgot seeing her in a bikini. Maybe the sexiest movie star ever.
Gorgeous Ursula, very sweet and charming also. She should have been a bigger star, check her out in Perfect Friday she is gorgeous and Funny, (and also very Nude!)
John was so awkward with Ursula after she was unmasked. There were so many things we would have liked her to have been asked if only to see her beautiful mouth move...!
ursula andress oozed sex appeal like few did. there have been beautiful women in hollywood no doubt, but ursula was in that rare class of women that made men walk into walls.
I am built like that. I have broad shoulders, a big bosom, a small waist, and small hips. It is almost being built like a triangle. I always hated having broad shoulders. It is unfortunate sometimes, because there are certain types of clothes I can't wear. Bo Derek and Linda Evans are both built like Ursula too.
freeze at 4:28 > that's petty funny. Gypsy, Henry, and Arlene all watching Ursula's chassis haul itself off the stage. One looks impressed, one looks lecherous, and one looks jealous.
I was obsessed by her in SHE..I had seen a photo.of her in a film.magazine and had recently read the book. I made a good drawing of that photo, which got a lot of attention at school. I yhink she is arguably the most beautiful.movie star of all time. The publicity tag was " The Most Beautifil.Woman in the World in The Year's Most Exciting Motion Picture" She Certainly Was!
@DerAdventurer I have the episode in my private collection. So far as I can tell, this is the only part of that memorable broadcast that has found its way to YouTubia.
Beg to differ. The comedy was iconic of the Sixties, and a cavalcade of stars: Andress, Sellers, Allen, Huston, Boyer, Kerr, Holden, Welles, Corbett, Belmondo, Bisset, Raft, Niven...with "The Look of Love" by Bacharach, sung by Springfield. What's the award-winning song from the 2005 version? Right. The newer picture couldn't even get the card game right. Fleming's first James Bond thriller was all about Baccarat, as was the comedy. The other flick went with Texas Fold-em! How declasse.
At 2:22. "Three down and seven to go. Mr. Cerf?" "Have you got one of the most 'magnificent' chasses in the history of the female race??" LOL Well, 95% of us would say yes, but I guess Penzance Pete and Melancholie would say "NO."
She was in a Elvis movie. Which she all but denied after her popularity from Dr No. Years later as her career was in decline and Elvis's popularity was back, she loudly acknowledged that movie role.
@soulierinvestments ~ i'll be damned, that is gypsy rose lee. i just finished a book about her and don't remember any reference to her doing this show, of course i just discovered these clips, so maybe i didn't make the connection while reading it. gypsy, like henry morgan, was known to have a barbed tongue. ursula's, bond movie came out in 1967, so this would have put gypsy around 56 yrs. old. she died in 1970.
Hey apparently, I looked like her in my teens, i can't count the number of times someone said i was a cross between Ursula and Racheal Welch. It actually got really annoying when I had someone say her son had a poster of what looked like me on his wall and a taxi driver saying.....oh you are the one that looks like Ursula Andress. I always just wanted to look like me.
