Uruguay is definitely over looked; there is so much more to explore especially the African diaspora. As far as Colonia, its history in the slave trade and after are very interesting...I learned that in the mid 18th century enslaved, free blacks and Luso-Brazilians made up the majority of the population in Colonia. In the capital, experiencing and participating in Candombe(Afro-Uruguyan celebration) on a Sunday in Barrio Sur in Montevideo is amazing. Nice video
