This follows US-302 from Littleton, NH to Wells River, VT. It was originally posted in Fall 2007 but the copyright police removed it in mid-2008 so I took the opportunity to do it over so here's the Remixed version.
you certainly know your way around .I wish I could travel like you .I could give my beautiful wife and handicapped daughter the time of there lives ..your videos bring back so many wonderful memories .thank you for sharing them .you don't know how happy you make us .my late dad came from Charlotte Vermont.do have any videos of that town .I would love to watch it .and my wife's late dad came mars hill Maine .God bless you sir .and since I'm watching this video on Dec .12, 2018 .Merry Christmas to you and your family..but keep them coming .and like the old tv commercial you say ..we'll leave the driving to you .LOL.
Between VT, NH and NY, you have captured roads that have profound memories for me. I grew up in VT. In 1987, I met the girl of my dreams. At 5:11, you pass her house on the right going through Lisbon. In 1989, we left the area for Syracuse, but would visit often, driving down that very route. My lover died in 2008. But having found your videos, I can still drive those roads from my deskand fall in love with a beautiful girl in a beautiful state all over again. Thank you.
Definitely among your finest, Jim. I'll favorite it! Gosh, I can't get over how beautiful those two states are. It's a shame New Hampshirites are not especially famous for welcoming newcomers.
Beautiful drive, never been to this part of the country, I like in California and the closest I've been is probably Boston. I'd love to visit both NH and VT someday.
Thank you, I have an HD video from this past summer in the opposite direction through Littleton. I don't mind the speed limit at all, I just hate being behind a slow-poke while filming.
Yes, I do hope to do more with Garage Band, I just got the new iLife '09 and Garage Band has been updated so there are more toys to play with. It's just a matter of making the time for it, making a song is more time consuming than making a video I'm afraid.
I've lived around that area my whole life and man, not much has changed. I'll name a few of the changes for those who might care. My apologies for not putting what year these changes took place. The McDonald's was torn down, replaced by a Dollar store (forget which chain) and then that was closed and now it's a medical supply place. The hotel seen at 1:57 was called the Continental. That was torn down before the old McDonald's and now that's where the new McDonald's resides. Agway seen (kind of) @ 2:09 was torn down and now it's a Verizon store, with another business, but I forget what it is. 2:15 - the area can't be seen in the video, but between Staples and Asian Garden (which also can't be seen in the video, but the building was there at that point) is where they built the NH Liquor Outlet around two years back, I believe. After that, right across from Staples, next to what was Sears at the time is where they built the new Cumberland Farms. The old one, which was seen earlier in the video is still there. At around 5:17, you can't see the area, but on the left hand side there is now a Dollar General. There's other stuff too, but those are more or less the bigger changes. Some businesses have moved from one building to another, so I didn't count those. I enjoyed your video. I've lived here 30+ years. In 2007, I was 19, so it was a fun trip down memory lane. My family actually owned the Sunoco in Lisbon and that was their first year there and they stayed for around 15 years. The old Sunoco is now being converted into a pub and grill ... with gas pumps. -Shrugs-
Oh, shoot. Forgot a few things, but one more notable change is across from the Applebee's sign at 2:03, in that empty lot, is where they built a Starbucks.
No kidding? My mother worked at the Littleton Motel, but that was only a few years ago. Couple things I forgot to mention, Jax Jr. theater on main street unfortunately is no longer open and hasn't been since the pandemic. Also, the Brick Store in Bath has been sadly closed for a couple years now after an expensive renovation too.
Thumbs up, JIM! I'm using this song in one of my Chillicothe videos, and I'm wondering where you got this song from, since I can't find it on iTunes. :(
Hey Jim remember that I-84 vid you did through hartford from I believe Farmington to Manchester did they take that one too. I liked that one good music too. I actually made a Video of I-95 in my area you gave me the idea to do one but I have a question I cant seem to edit it with windows movie maker and its way too long for youtube what editing software do you use and how do you speed it up so its 5 or under ten minutes.
Yeah they did take that down :( I'll remix it with a different song eventually. I use Final Cut Express 4 on a Mac, Windows Movie Maker is very limited. If you want a really good program that's reasonably priced check out Adobe Premier Elements.
i agree, audioswap only had like 5 lol, i always use audio swap seeing my daytime version of this got blocked in some countries, but the song i chose is pretty decent, not the best but good
Thanks! iMovie is worth your time again (iLife '09) it's got a cool stabilization feature (I wish FCE4 had it) along with many others, I think Apple got the message on iMovie '08, yuck!
your about to envy me more, i just did this route at night! muhahaha, now i was wondering if u could give me some non-copyrighted songs for night travel? the vid is 9:59 lol
