three years ago I did US-50 from Ocean City, Maryland to just west of Sacramento, CA taking 14 days. This drive across Colorado was a portion of the route.

I did this route in reverse nearly a year ago to the day. Returning from a kick ass Moab 4wheeling trip to the Front Range. You're right, 50 is an underrated drive.

28:27 Cerro Summit has a recreation area with an insane sled hill in the winter. Plenty of parking, porta-potties, etc. Very cold and windy, but great sledding minutes from Montrose.

Two months ago, Blue Mesa Lake looked like a farm field...now it's ten feet from full. Shows what a good winter can do. Blue Mesa Canyon looks a lot different with the construcion they have been doing, for the last couple of years.

We live in Montrose Colorado since 2020... got a full time job with FedEx ground and our routes stretch from S. Montrose to Paradox.. we pretty much cover from Ouray to telluride to Norwood, redvale, naturita and nucla.. gotta be the most scenic areas to work and deliver in.. very happy to be a Coloradan.

You mentioned that you drove non-stop from Canon City CO to California. I did something like that years ago from Aspen to southern California, except the vehicle was a highly loaded VW bus and that poor thing ran like crap until we cleared Grand Junction and went down in altitude. Glad you had something more well powered to drive.

It took 19 hours to drive for white Mills,Pa to st. Louis (with stop) back 2019, my brother had to check out Concordia Seminary,he have since withdrew

I prefer the slower-paced versions. Fast-paced is fine for cities, but slower reflects the mood of the mountains. Plus, I do not mind investing 40 minutes on quality entertainment.

Nice remake. This is such an interesting stretch of 50. I had to laugh at 23:48. You have all this new pristine deep black pavement and what happens?... somebody lost a big bucket of white paint. LOL What a mark.

Interesting one from "off the beaten path." I noticed that the Western Sky was somewhat clear, so the smoke from the CA fires wasn't a concern? I would prefer the I-70 going, but coming back? Might take the U.S 50 instead.

Not quite yet...10 feet from full bank, but full bank is coming...there's still a lot of snow in the high country
