This is an Air Force made video about the SAC Command Post that is located at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha NE. SAC is no longer an active unit of the Air Force.
Quick shot of the SACCCS - Strategic Air Command Command Control System. There were three of them made by SDC in Southern California. The DPC 1 and DPC 2 were in the underground at Offutt AFB while the DPC 3 was at 15th Air Force at March AFB. I did software support and war planning on these machines during my tour at Offutt AFB. Man, does this bring back memories!
And the fighter pilots won, since TAC became Air Combat Command and all bombers, missiles, and tankers were subsumed under ACC. SAC became Strategic Command.
Yeah, trillions definitely isn't enough. Spending more than any other nation, both per capita and compared to all other military budgets combined, is definitely not enough. We should be holding out for half of our GDP at least.
