For all those fitness garus out there try doing any of the obstacle courses with little sleep and food for an entirely different experience from your local spa!
It's going to be hell at first but just take it one meal and one day at a time and you'll do fine! Cherish each day both the good and bad because it goes quick!!!
yea i went meal to meal. gave me somethin to look forward to each day. I also didnt like to look at the time becuase it made things seem longer than it was
It’s all mental bro. Just don’t be that guy who goes to sick call all the time or cries during PT and training and you will be fine. Once you get out of red phase the drill sgts are a mentor that just fuck you up every once and a while.
To those who are watching this video prepping to leave for basic, keep your head high, embrace the suck, and dont be a shitbag. It really is not that bad if you stay positive
I graduated Aug 1988 we were the last cycle to go through the old tank hill WW II barrack's. They were just finishing up the new barracks Hollywood & that other one can't remember it's name. Oh how easy you all have it now. Good luck you all
All those years of installing cable for Comcast will come in handy during these military crawls lol spent a lot of time crawling through little ass crawl space.
NO SHIT!?! I literally left Comcast to join the army... was a tech for 6yrs. went thru basic in January, just got to fort hood last month as a mechanic. As I’m sure you know Comcast holds your job for 5yrs and pays you the difference in your checks... make sure you send military concierge your LES statements each month. They’re paying me 1800$ a month plus the BAH the army pays.
Alex Maddison hell yea good luck bro. It’s a lot easier than you might think. Hardest part is not being in touch with the outside world... when it gets tough always remember that it WILL end.. best decision I’ve ever made. What MOS you going?
@@JayBaddAssCutler bro it's ok, I'm originally from Belarus, moved 3 years ago, so I don't have any parents over here, so it doesn't bother me at all :D 92Y
For anyone joining, Word of advice: do your cardio prior to leaving to basic. Trust me you will need through your course of training especially for your ACFT for graduation.
I went through basic training in 2013 while I didn’t complete it then they added a lot of safety things to the confidence course and I’m in the process of getting back in and I’m ready hopefully I get to go back to fort Jackson
When, and that’s a big fat when, I join one of the military branches I will (maybe) serve and protect my country and yell out the words “REMEMBER THE ALAMO!”
I was delta 1-61 but back in june 2018 ): but crazy shit tho ds reyes foster smith petterson palmer roberson posey cook. Foster palmer were the worst !
Hey congrats on graduating. I got an option 40 contract and was wondering how often do you guys have free time and can you do more PT during that free time?
@@eliseorodriguez1124 all I'm going to say is prepare to eat MRE's and a lot of running especially if you like pissing a lot of drill Sgts but it was quite a experience although I ended up with a medical discharge but I learned quite a bit though but on a positive note I can come back.
@@eliseorodriguez1124 there's quite a bit but if you want a more detailed explanation on Fort Jackson just look up Fort Jackson reception. But I can some questions about Ft Jackson though. Other than that I hope that helps. And good luck.
@@BrezzyEntertainment1 wdym by the “half right position” . Also if I’m a fast runner but don’t have good cardio, will this get better for me or just stay hard. And also are the MREs and nasty as they look 😂 I hope I can go buy good food once I get to AIT
Funny, don't remember any of that recital in the beginning. All I remember as far as uniformed mottos was after being asked: "What makes the grass grow!?" To which the answer was: "Blood! Blood! Blood makes the grass grow!!" Then being asked why I was there, and the uniform answer being "To kill!! To kill!! To kill without mercy!!"
January 11 I ship to basic . Can’t wait . I’m nervous Becuse I’m leaving my wife and 3 month old for the duration of basic and ait but it’s worth. I can’t wait to see them when I get back
Just listen to the drill sergeants, do what your told nothing more nothing less , always wear your mask so you don’t get Covid cuz if you get it , you have to isolate for 2 weeks or until your clear and start all over . And at the forge just keep going I promise victory breakfast will be so rewarding, don’t ever give up just keep pushing and help your battle buddies and study with them . REMEMBER FOR “End of Course” testing DOESNT matter don’t stress about it but try your best . I wish you the best and don’t get injured cuz it could set you back , and pass ACFT do the minimum it doesn’t matter at BCT. I graduated Sep. 17th 2020
@@perry8628 yes sir , and make friends it makes time go by so much faster . Find people with the same MOS and talk to them more cuz at AIT that’s who you’re to see more possibly roommate with them. We gotta help each other out right ?
When I was at fort Jackson for BCT, I watched a girl fall 40’ off the repel wall not attached to the rope at all. Apparently she didn’t wrap rope around the carrabeaner. They made us all turn around and face the opposite direction. I’ve always wondered if she survived and if she did if she had any serious permanent injuries. Either way I’m sure it was traumatic.
@@michaelcopete3466 I actually switched my MOS my guy. I’m going 18 X-ray now. I ship off to Fort Benning in Georgia January 12th. Good luck though! I wish you the best brother.
I did basic at Ft. Jackson in 1980. These people are at summer camp compared to how it was back then, lol. Especially in the gas chamber. The gas was so thick you couldn't see 3 feet, and they left us in there, shouting in our faces while we struggled t breath. It was god awful.
It’s fun, don’t expect your phone a whole lot, don’t be an idiot and have common sense, prepare your feet and make sure to get the right boot size at reception if not your feet with get utterly destroyed like my friend’s feet (I graduated 2 days ago) YOU’LL HAVE FUN!
ship off to basic in exactly a month from today and im going to fort jackson, excited and very nervous i memorized everything, but im not ready physically need help dont know what to focus on
