Necromunda is the recruiting world for the Imperial Fists. So having statues to Astartes on the world would be expected, they might even be to a specific person that was recruited.

Also since the emperor is venerated as a god, the astartes, his creations, are depicted as his avenging angels of death. In turn however, not every space marine worship the emperor as a god and only see themselves as superhuman warriors and the emperor as the greatest human to ever live... wich bother the ecclesiarchy to no end to see their object of worship denying their cannon before the masses.

A hive world is a planet covered in massive super cities known as hives (surprisingly). While they will provide the imperium with a lot of people who will go on to become imperial guard etc they will also often have other large exports, such as machinery or ammunition. The Space Marines are often referred to as Angels of Death, and are revered as holy warriors of the Emperor in much of the imperium (although the people doing the revering may never actually meet one in person).

Necromunda as a 40k setting exists since the necromunda tabletop game released in 1995. Its focused on smaller skirmishes between rival gangs in the underhive below the hive city.

Necromunda has been a 40k off shoot since around the same time that cyberpunk was invented in the 80's as board game. The hive City of Necromunda is also used as a recruiting ground for the imperial fist space marines and occasionally other imperial forces as the gangs of the underhive are at perpetual war with each other so produce a constant stream of battle hardened gang children /teenagers

"Blatantly stealing from Cyberpunk 2077" Obviously, because that game was extremely innovative and the first of the dystopian genre. No one have ever thought of something so unique before. It's not like Necromunda was already around as it own tabletop since 1995 or anything. And just FYI, Necromunda IS a faction unto itself as far as many people are concerned. Necromunda is a long established world for a reason. And of course they can convince people to play it, it's Necromunda. It's may not contain Space Marines or galactic wars, but Necromunda is it own slice of the 40K pie that people are accustomed to for many years.

For me, what makes games set in Necromunda awesome is that this is a 'normal' Imperial world. You have six great Clan Houses, likely comprising tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of members, and they are all trying to rise higher in society however they can. In public, they all get along; but in the shadows, each Clan sends gangs and agents to sabotage their rivals, conduct espionage, steal technology, or just plain murder people! In most games, you play as one of these gangs - fighting and dying in a rotting urban hellscape for the slimmest hope that you might one day earn the right to live in the luxury of the Upper Hive. And of course, every Clan has its secrets, and they will go to any lengths to keep them quiet...

I don't think there was one akin to Warhammer 40k. (as in a game with miniatures that's all about battles and not about roleplaying) @Callumanga Warhammer 40k as a whole definitely has Cyberpunk-themes in it - "fear" of technology (although in this case because no one knows how technology works), a large divide between the rich and powerfull and the common masses, criticizing totalitarian states, even critique on (unregulated) capitalism when looking at planets like Jopall etc. Funny enough, Warhammer 40k seems more cyberpunk than most Cyberpunk-media nowadays.

Lasguns aren't paticularly more powerful than autoguns. They are famous for being extremjely reliable and robust, and for ability to recharge batpacks by pluggin them into any power source or just leaving them on the sun for a few days (or throwing them into a fire if you don't mind trhowing that batpack after emptying it). That being said standard Imperial Armageddon-pattern autogun that is roughtly equivalent to power to lasgun fire 9mm caseless ammo, which is considerably more high energy than modern 5.56.

Lasgun strength is that they recharge batpacks, have almost no recoil (full auto-burst with 9mm rounds would fuck you up hard unless you happen to have bionic shoulder, have expensive grav-suspensors installed, or braced the gun to cover before firing it) and would last for GENERATIONS with minimal maintenance, while autoguns in active use would last a year at best without constantly replacing the most crucial moving parts.

Hive cities are home to billions of people, they are also huge industrial complexes. Armageddon had a huge arms and vehicle manufacturing industry which is why so many resources were dedicated to its defense. Many ordinary citizens and guardsmen worship the Astartes, think if the Emperor is a God then they are his angels. It is astronomically small chance in actually seeing a space marine in your lifetime, and if you do then shit has either gone sideways or its about to. As a Warhammer fan, this game is perfect. All the design and nods toward to the lore is everywhere in the game and is staggering how dedicated the creators were toward accuracy. Comparing this to cyberpunk is a bit inaccurate, on the surface it may share the exterior but its really more like the most recent doom guy game.

It's more of a Quake/Doom clone than a CP2077 clone. Game dev takes way too long for them to have realistically copied CP2077 in my personal experience. Plus I believe like Spacehulk it's based off the board game's aesthetic. I'm about halfway through Hired Gun now and I'd probably recommend it. Very fun and atmospheric. Doesn't have all of the 40k universe in it but there's enough lore and such that I personally don't care. It's kinda nice to see this small slice of a "normal" person's life in 40k. (Also it's far less buggy than CP2077 :P )

As for the lasgun vs everything else. Tabletop a autogun and lasgun are the same exact statline, but the Imperial Guard have buffs that only work for lasguns. In the next best game example, the Fantasy Flight Roleplay games for warhammer 40k the Autogun usually have some sort of slightly worse that, are usually use up more space and weight for Ammo, and you have to buy special ammo, while a lasgun it's a flip of a switch for a stronger fire mode that will consume more of the weapon's charge. Also lore Lasguns can be (if riskily) charged with nothing more than a campfire.

Necromunda actually has a very rich lore dedicated to it (actually one of the first Warhammer 40k books, "Space Marine" by Ian Watson, was featuring it in 1993). It has a lot of comics about it (Kal Jerico series being the most known), tabletop games, novels etc. Also its cyberpunk flavor is direct product of the 80's and early 90's with all their "Terminator", "Universal Soldier" and stuff like that around. About production of Hive Worlds - they supply not only manpower, but also a lot of raw resources, unsophisticated weapons and machinery, plus due to their importance they are often capitals of their system/sector/subsector which makes them trade hubs, administrative centers and place of residence for nobility. About common folk and Astartes - yes, even Guardsmen rarely see Space Marine in the flesh, but their actual existence is not a secret. They are generally known as angels of the God-Emperor (in sort of similar way as Christianity perceivies them). Plus Imperial Fists chapter recruits from Necromunda, that's why those statutes were dedicated specifically to them (yellow armor and fist insignia). As for the game factions - I didn't play the game, but you'll definetly meet a lot of Imperium there (and Imperiun comes no only in form of Imperial Guard), certainly Adeptus Mechanicus, because all tech stuff revolves around them. Then there will definitely be Chaos cults, cause these are like everywhere, probably even some daemonic stuff. Genestealers are also quite a possibility. There are all sorts of things in the slums of Hive worlds in lore.

10:16 From what I can gather it’s a spin-off to get submerged into the world of 40k, since this game would mostly cover the grim dark society. Since most of the time space marines aren’t really around on a hive world unless invasions from xenos or chaos have cropped up, needing them to come in, but are worshipped by the citizenry as angels, being called the Emperor’s “Angels of Death”. The only game that takes place in Necromunda that scratches that militaristic itch from what I know would likely be Necromunda: Underhive Wars.

You are looking at the imperium, this is what most of their common citizens on hive worlds look like. So the Cyberpunk look is common for hive world lower levels. Gangs and depending on the world certain creatures (genestealers) amongst many things will be accused across this type planet. The statue's of Space Marines are common on Necromunda due to the fact that a Space Marine chapter known as the imperial fist use it as a recruiting planet. Also it's a forge world too because they create and push out some weapons and hive worlds provide many things it's all depends on what they are taxed to do. And yes even in the 40k they're taxes and you do not want to miss them.

3:45 Very few people will actually see an actual Astartes in their lives, but they know about the Emperor's Angels of Death and as for worship, that depends on the world, but for the sake of the question: yes, some people worship the Space Marines (not as Gods but as Angels). 5:55 I mean, originality doesn't really exist, it all depends on how you tell a story. 7:50 Necromunda IS (part of) the Imperium, the same way the "Cadian Shock Troopers" are the "Vanilla Imperial Guard Regiment", Necromunda is the "Vanilla Hive World". 10:10 Actually you kinda will, the target demographic is Obviously WH40K fans and those fans will know what Necromunda is and will want to play it.

You won't see much in the way of traitor astartes, traitor guardsmen, daemons of chaos, tyranid hive fleets and massed pitched battles in Necromunda. In the underhive it's mostly gangers, mutants, monsters, gene stealer cults, chaos cults, guilders, palanite enforcers, arbites, monsters, corpse grinders and bounty hunters, the fighting is amongst different factions looking to take control of various sections so they can make some money and as long as their actions don't interfere with the planet's tithes, they're pretty much allowed to do as they please.

The Hive Worlds are not only "producing humans", but they have their own manufactorums to produce whatever stuff the Imperium needs from them. For example - Necromunda here is good at it because it was founded as a manufacturing and mining colony. It's also a major producer of munitions for the Imperial Guard. As it was already said - the Necromunda is one of the recruiting worlds for the Imperial Fists. So they usually may see more of Space Marines. Or the chapter itself build some of those (or ordered it to be build) in honour of some fallen heroes of the chapter. The Necromunda isn't about larger factions fighting. It's about all about the different GANGS and nothing more. It even has it's own tabletop game.

Theres a really good story about a Feudal World that live in castles and have Fintlocke pistols, but they have Statues of Space Marines in a chamber under the castle and know they are legendary warriors sent by the God Emperor in their time of need. When a Dark Eldar ship crash lands on the planet and beings kidnapping people they are unable to mount an attack with their technology able to kill them so retreat inside their castle and activate a beacon on the Space Marine Statue which summons the Chapter to the planet to help. It takes 3 months for a space marine to arrive and the planet need to be educated by them on just how big space is and that 3 months was relatively quick in the grand scheme of things. So although most will never see a Space Marine in the flesh, the knowledge of them is widespread, and useful for keeping planets paying Tithes in the form of protection, or retribution should they step out of line.

Necromunda, just like its namesake Table top game, Focus on Conflicts and Fights between Hive Gangs of the Hive City. There's a few of these gangs that fights for the control of the Under-Hive (the lowest levels of the Hive City), there's the Eschers, Goliaths, the Orlocks, the Van Saar, the Delaque, the Cawdors, and the Palanites Enforcers. With each gang having their specifics, like own nearly ALL of the Escher gang is composed of Women. Goliaths member are all Brutish, Towering Men, real mounts of Muscles mass. Delaques members use stealth and Darkness to commit their felonies and conduct their actions, they are the closest thing to Ninjas or assassins The Cawdors are completly full of Redemptionists, Highly INSANELY Zealotous people that litteraly carries Braseros on their heads and makes a heavy use of Flames weaponry and Eviscerators (2 handed Chainswords) And thats just the MAIN gangs, or Houses (cause yes they are divided into Houses) with each having sub-gangs. Necromunda while been in 40k, is on a smaller scale that anything else in 40k, ant he essential of the actions happens in the hive City of Necromunda, so you won't been seeing Tau's or Necrons. You might stumble upon Chaos Cults that are trying to get a foothold in the city's Under-hive, by recruiting Mutants and Heretics, but they are usually wiped out or chased by Bounty Hunters, the Adeptus Arbites or even the Gangs themselfs. Gangs while been criminals, are not neccesarly Heretics and they still are under the jurisdiction of the Hive City Lords and Nobles, wich let them do as they want as long that they do not disturb the workflow of their industry, so that they can meet the Imperial Tith. There's also a risk of a Genestealer Cult, but just like Chaos cults, they are dealt with by either the gangs, the Arbites or if need be an Inquisitor and his retinue.

So cyberpunk 2077 is based on a pen-and-paper RPG Cyberpunk 2020. Which was releases in the 80-es. GW made their first Necromunda wargame also in the 80es, although slightly after original Cyberpunk. While both are set in thematically similar environments, games themselves were very different and likely developed independedn of each other, as RPGs and wargames hobbies weren't as interconnected back then as they are now and most likely creators of both didn't know about each other.

More about gang warfare, between various Houses/factions like: House Cawdor: The church, Cult of Redemption Hunts mutants and heretics, fast moving fanatics. House Goliath: Found in the deepest parts of the hive, stong but slow combat gang. Ogryn like and loves fighting pits. House Escher: All women combat gang, focusing on stealth and fast moving. House Van Saar: Gang with accsess to alot of tech and manufacturing, lots of lasguns and shooting. Very wealthy, and techy House Orlock: Miners and slag pit workers, the "average" faction. No major strengths or weaknesses. House Delaque: Assassination and spying, Stealth ranged types. Pale, bald and don't like the light. These are like the OG factions, there are also later additions like: Chaos cults, Ash waste gangers, Imperial guard, Genestealer Cults and Orks... etc. Necromunda is a "slice of life" in a Hiveworld, like Battlefleet Gothic is a "slice of life" space naval combat. Hive worlds will typically export whatever the Administorum thinks they have. For instance, when the wider Imperium knew that Krieg was essentially a death world with no mineral resources to offer, they only wanted a tithe of people. However, other planets like Mordant that are designated as Hive/Mining worlds can have large exports of people and whatever resource they get out of the ground. Planets can be reclassified about their tithe depending on what they can actually offer wether it’s people, resources, or technology.

On recruiting worlds a Space Marine who distinguishes himself will often get a statue in the general area they are from. If not a recruiting world, if a battle occurred there where a particularly heroic act was achieved a statue might be erected. Astartes aren't personally worshiped but in some places they take 'Angel of the Emperor' serious.

Necromunda hold a special spot for long time 40k fans. It's It's own seperate side game that was more like a squad RPG than a large war simulator. But it holds it's own distinct factons seperate from wider 40k, with bleedover that goes both ways with some of the factions from Necromunda having a influence on the 40k IP and products and a few 40k factions getting their own representation in Necromunda. They both happen in the same universe, but the thing about Necromunda was that it was more of a insight into the lives of your "average" human outside of the wars...and well we have a high octaine shooter with lots of knives and explosions.

Whilst true (and the Necromunda aesthetic is certainly not copied from Cyberpunk 2077), the original Cyberpunk TTRPG was released in '88, so I suspect that might be the reason GW lent heavily into the cyberpunk genre at the time when making the Necromunda setting. So, Necromunda could ungenerously be considered a rip-of of Cyberpunk 2020 [but not Cyberpunk 2077].

Necromunda has many exports. It produces imperial guard units as well as space marines. Both recruit from the gangs. I beleave it was the imperial fists who found the system which was very advanced in technology and economics. Sadly deamons followed the fists and basically ravaged the system. Once they were pushed back the fists restored bits and set up a spire on necromunda to recruite. Necromunda also exports munitions weapons and corps starch/fertiliser to agriworlds that feed it. This game has been around since the 90s and hasn't changed much since its 2nd edition. 1st audition was released in white dwarf and was only a couple of pages.

A fun fact:long ago during the legendary days of the great crusade, the emperor's war to reunite the divided worlds of mankind a great victory against a gigantic ork empire was won. To celebrate the victory a nearby planet whose name is long lost was reshaped into a planet sized parade ground. Mountains where flattened and the planets continental plates were realigned, the ground was covered in exquisite imported marble. You might wonder what this story has to do with the issue at hand? After a galaxy spanning Civil War and some other shenanigans the world found its way back into the imperial fold but now it was known by a new name:Necromunda.

This is based upon a spin-off tabletop game called Necromunda which features hive gangers fighting each other, which uses fewer models that belong to rival gangs rather than grand factions. The setting has existed for a very long time now, this certainly isn't 40k stealing from Cyberpunk. And I would expect the player to be pitted against the various cults and gangs upon Necromunda as was described in the gameplay trailer. Necromunda is known for its gang wars in the underhives. Hive Worlds primarily export people. However, anytime you have so many people that they become your primary resource, you might as well have them doing something until they get shipped off to get killed for the Emperor. Making the guns they will later be carrying into battle is a pretty good use of their time. This reduces the strain upon forge worlds and the like, as well as means that the planet will have more to use for trade with other planets. Commerce does exist in 40k, so while the Imperium will provide some things in exchange for the tithes, they will only be supplying the bare necessities. You get the rest on your own if you want to last long. Space marines are not technically worshiped per say. It's really close, and I could imagine that there are a lot of humans with lesser educations that believe the Astartes to be actual angels and thus think they are divine, but this is not the official teaching, just superstition. They are seen as the chosen warriors of the God-Emperor, who are the agents of the Emperor and his will. So while very significant, not exactly worshiped themselves. I am sure people pray for them to save them though. It's true, most people will never see a space marine. They probably know what one vaguely looks like due to murals and stained glass etc, though these will obviously be rather fanciful depictions. But there are probably about 1 million space marines if every chapter is assumed to be both full strength and Codex compliant (neither of which are true), and there are millions of worlds in the Imperium. They concentrate their numbers in the most war-ravaged areas. Unless a hive world is about to be attacked, is under attack, or needs to be retaken, I doubt that Space Marines would do much beyond recruit and resupply from these worlds, sort of like a pitstop inbetween warzones. Astartes are almost never used to garrison a planet, they move on (with a few exceptions). Also consider the nature of what Space Marines do. Anyone who is in a situation where they have to see a space marine, is also in a situation where everything is pretty awful and they're probably mere moments away from some flavor of horrible death. So even if you see one, you're probably not going to get many opportunities to tell anyone about it. All of this adds a very heavy shroud of mystery to the Emperor's angels of death to the general population. They are mythic, things you hear about, and you have that one granduncle who always claims to have seen one once but everyone thinks he's lying. Otherwise you live on a world with a very turbulent past or present, and probably don't have the luxury to think too much about the big giant men that you hope will save you.

0:40 - Necromunda has been around since '93. 1:17 - Hive Worlds are industrial megaproducers. They primarily produce military materiel and basic living products. Since their populations are massive in the extreme, they ALSO tend to produce a large number of soldiers, but no more per capita than most other Imperial worlds. 3:45 - Everybody KNOWS about Space Marines, but since there are 'officially' only 1 million of them in the galaxy, vs. hundreds of trillions of humans, there's almost no chance of seeing them in person. That said, Necromunda is a primary recruiting ground for the Imperial Fists space marine chapter. They even have a hive subtower that is a permanent garrison in Hive Primus. 4:27 - Lasguns are not the pinnacle of weapons technology, they are just the most reliable BASIC weapon you can get. Almost all those adjectives you applied to slug throwers apply to lasguns. Half the gangers on Necromunda have las weapons. Many of the solid-round weapons available can potentially do greater damage output, but they jam more often. 'Exotic' weapons like plasma weapons and such are fairly easy to come by, though very expensive. (I think in the tabletop game shotguns are 15 creds, lasguns are 25, and plasma pistols are 55, off the top of my head). Necromunda for instance is one of the recruitement Worlds for the Imperial Fists. Hive Cities are like Everest Sized gigantic Cities/Towers, with each levels and district divided by their use and by their Social Class/rankings, with off course the Higher you are in the Social Hiarchy, the Higher in the Spires/Towers you live. Its like in Judge Dredd's Mega Cities, but vertical. If you ever saw the movie Metropolis its kinda the same thing.

The role-playing system Cyberpunk 2077 is based on is called Cyberpunk. (Shocking I know) It was originally created in 1988 Necromunda was written in 1995 The concept of Cyberpunk that they both use were from the 1960s... (This is 5 minutes of google. I might be wrong) The more important concept to conciser might be the hive cities themselves. They are huge. They might span entire planets in width, and their height is reaching out of the atmosphere. I think some have ports for spaceships. My point being. Saying it's Cyberpunk might be a bit unfair... Although there might be a good point about how it will be perceived by a lot of possible players.

Necromunda is a well affirmed setting in warhammer 40k with own tabeltop game for gang fights and custimisable characters, including hired mercenarys. Necromunda is a well known name for any Fan and some of the gangs known from the tabeltop where represented in the trailer. House Escher (the gang that takes only woman and haas a kind of cyber amazonian vibe (the scene where you spoke about scopes and the rail on the plasma rifle)) House Goliat (a house known too genehance there people like half the way too a space marine (the big dudes that where at the bar in one scene)) there are several more houses with there own gangs that probably will appear as well, maybe look at the "Necromunda Underhive Wars" trailer for more context. Also, Astartes (or Space Marines) are whorshipped as the emperors angels in many places. Besides Fortress worlds and people witnessing it, do civilians not known that chaos marines exist, space marines are the emperors chosen "incorruptable" Angels. That is why the Warhammer 40k 9th edition trailer timed the Ultramarines Sargents appearance too the words of the sister "and for his most Loyal Subjects, the emperor sends forth his Angels"

Necromunda has it's own table top game and factions or gangs - Gangs Include: Goliath, Delaque, Van Saar, Orlock, Cawdor and Esher while I'd consider Redemptionists and Law Enforcement more faction based. Necromunda has been part of the Warhammer 40k universe since 1995 and went into hybernation as many "specialist systems" did at the time, until it was restarted in 2017. There definitely is an audience, you can to talk to Kal Jericho ingame, and I recognised some esher looking ladies, which is great fan-service (havent seen much besides the trailers and got curious for other necromunda stuff) - It is most likely targeting those that want to dive deeper than "battlefield 40k" If you'd like to partake in chaos killing while you personify an agent of the Imperium (with possible co-op) - you should take a closer look at Warhammer 40.000 Darktide Of course there is still the good old Space Marine or the sad Eternal Crusade.

Necromunda as a tabletop game has been around decades and has its following with its house and characters as something smaller scale and alternative to 40k. The style of Necromunda is a mix of the Imperium's Gothic style and punk, Mixing punk with other styles is popular with Cyberpunk 2020/2077 and blade runner being the most popular in the cyberpunk genre but other similar styles exist, steampunk is rather widespread, trench-punk is reminiscent off WW1 era and diesel-punk is rather synonyms with the new Wolfenstein games and that vein.

Hive worlds do export tons of people, but they're also major manufacturing centers. They differ from Forge and Agri-worlds in that they have a much larger population, and are not focused on a single type of output. Most people will never see a space marine, but pretty much everyone knows they exist in some way or another. They're not worshipped as such (that'd be heresy, you worship the Emperor and only the Emperor) but they're seen as superhuman, divine instruments of the Emperor's wrath, enforcers of His will, and symbols of His might. You can get lasguns in the game! Both in the game and in lore there are definetly bullet weapons that are more powerful than lasguns, the latter are not always straight improvements over the former. The reason the Imperial Guard uses lasguns is mostly because of their reliability and ease of use. They don't have a lot of kick, they're incredibly robust (you can use one as a bludgeon after dropping it in mud and it'll probably work just fine), and most importantly: the power packs. The lasgun is well understood at this point, apart from the power pack. It's a piece of Dark Age archeotech that is high capacity and can be charged by pretty much anything. You can hook it up to a capacitor, or you could leave it out in the sun and it'll just charge from the light. Or put it next to a campfire and it'll charge from the heat, though it'll probably be damaged and your commissar won't like it. Hell, you could probably bang it against the wall a few times and it'll convert enough kinetic energy for a shot or two. This means you'll practically never run out of ammunition outside of extreme circumstances, and they're a whole lot lighter and more compact than standard bullets, which makes for easier logistics. And when you're dealing with hundreds of thousands of soldiers per deployment at the very least, you'll want logistics to be as easy as possible.

I might be wrong, but I believe the planet’s that primarily export people tend to be fortress worlds? But as other people have mentioned, give world’s primarily export material. That they also can export lots of people is more of a side effect. As an aside, Hive city descriptions came before cyberpunk 2077. I suspect some of the aesthetic was originally a satire on the cyber punk genre in general. On space marines and the average person, they view space marines as Angels and do essentially worship them, yeah.

In lore Las gun and auto guns. Both are equally as good depending on the model , equipment on it and the ammo type being used. The reason why the Las gun replace auto gun as a front line common service rifle is the logistic's involved. As the Las gun is slightly better in term of firepower and being able to ressuply ammo is easier especially in field. While trying to ressupply a army who use auto gun's and all of it variant's for ammo type used. It can be a challange for the various auto-gun ammo type out there to make them effective still to a las-gun . As resupplying 500,000 men army who use las gun;s is easier as you have fewer ammo type to worry about compare to the ammount of ammo required for 500,000 men who use auto-guns . Best part about some las-gun model's you can recharge it in field if the ammo pack is left in the sun to charge beside the las-gun being lighter in weight vs a auto-gun . In lore for auto-gun's that were used by some named character's for the make and model who use auto-gun's , they have roughly the same power level as las-gun . While space marine they are viewed as angel of death and some are even viewed nearly to be like demi-god's for the amount of power some named character have. Due to how the average imperial citizen is raised they never see one except on planet's where a chapter is . Even then they are viewed as very highly for the position they have in that planet society . As for the fan's who buy this game setting. Those who like necromonda setting will buy it for the atmosphere it give's . Due to the 40K game's out there and been made there are many to suit what intertest player's in video game term's . Such as space marine , space marine vs ork and chaos . space hulk:tactic's space marine vs tyranids and so forth . The list go on for games made to suit what interest the fan base that been made.

I actually disagree with you on this one, I think we have had enough of space marines, gigantic space battles, demons, and all these other very obviously 40k things these trailers looked quite good for me because they are clearly trying to not involve the whole universe of 40k into the game, it's called Necromunda, its set in Necromunda and it seams like it's mostly about gangs, cults and businesses killing each other. I think this is how you expand a universe. Not every Star Wars movie, game, book or series needs to be about Jedi or the force or every Marvel thing be about the end of the world. In all these universes are "real" people, going about there lives away from all the universe changing events, I think exploring these people's lives makes for interesting media.

Space Marines aren't technically "worshipped" in the traditional sense, but they are venerated as the Emperor's literal angels. They have a mythical status among the normal humans of the Imperium, and as such seeing a statue of an Astartes is analogous to seeing an angel statue in a park or on a federal building in our time.
