Student journalists were thrust into the spotlight this week, covering pro-Palestinian protests taking place at universities across the United States. They were plugged into the story in ways that national media organisations couldn't be. We discuss the media coverage of the protests and the challenge of reporting on them. FRANCE 24's William Hilderbrandt is joined by Annika Sunkara, a student journalist at Boston's Northeastern University; Álvaro Guzmán Bastida, a student at New York's Columbia University; and Luca GoldMansour, a graduate student in journalism at The City University of New York.

Read ‘Son of Hamas’ it’s available as a free pdf and also ‘Arab Palestinian warns the world about Hamas’ on you tube. You will get a much more detailed idea of what is going on there beyond the propaganda and limited MSM. The Tom Nash report on the Middle East is also good.

Awesome! Since the 2019 Student protests in Hong Kong, where multiple university and college campuses were the bloody clashes toke place in a period of more than two months, no US mainstream broadcasting media looked at the activists protesters as terrorists!!! You condemned the police in using force to crack down the dangerous activities on campus- setting fire on premises, hurling gas bombs and shooting arrows at the policemen. Terroristic? Nancy Polesi, House of Representatives speaker described the scene of the outbreaks violence of the protesters as "beautiful scene of the horizon". Now, it's your campuses. How much do you like it?😂😂😂

I came along in university at the closing of the Vietnam era, when student protests were much more prevalent than now. Unfortunately these young people really have no commitment one way or another. We know that professional agitators are being used to cause these incidents. How many of those students do we see actually flying to Egypt to help fight? Not one.

"Just before midnight, a large group, wearing black outfits and white masks, arrived on campus and tried to tear down the barricades surrounding the encampment." "Eyewitness videos from UCLA, verified by Reuters, showed people wielding sticks or poles to hammer on wooden boards being used as makeshift barricades to protect the pro-Palestinian protesters before police were deployed to the campus." So as I said, counter-protestors, who were organized outside agitators and started attacking with blunt weapons and thrown rocks as soon as they arrived.
