Last three days ago I called my elder sister who was born and brought up in Deeper Life Bible Church, she told me she is now a Seventh Day Adventist, I couldn't believe it, I was filled with joy so i quickly sent to her The Great Controversy book online and I know God will bless her with the rich blessings of that wonderful book.
What she said is more accurate than we think. The great controversy happens within us. Christ as already won the battle. Therefore the battle happens within our minds. People are making up their minds as to which side we are on. She is correct.

For keeping the true Sabbath as the seal. What are the blessings SDA members received here on earth while other church members don't. And the Sabbath keepers only will go to heaven, is that the only commandment that will qualify a person to go to heaven? I dwell among Adventist communities and I found out that they are the worst greedy and gossip people. They only share when they are organised to visit
We are saved by grace alone, not by keeping the Sabbath or any other commandment. But when saved by grace you will want to obey Him. The majority of people in heaven most likely will have been Sunday keepers because God judges according to the knowledge one has. You will find bad apples in all groups of people. Churches are “hospitals for sinners”, perfection will only be observed in Heaven.
I go to a sabbath keeping baptist church and never hear them judge Sunday keeping churches. I started at the sda and they praised EGW and preached more about the 4th commandment then on how we all are sinners saved by Jesus Christ. I was like dang I want to leave church feeling convicted not preaching about 1844, EGW, and how Sunday keeping is the sign of the beast. I go to fellowship on both Saturday and Sunday bc Romans 14 says don’t judge people by what day they worship or observe bc it’s between them and God.

For those interested and seeking the truth I invite you to read a book called, (The White Lie) written by Walter T. Rea Sr.(1922-2014) a former SDA Pastor who was relieved of his position in 1980 after releasing his findings regarding the legitimacy of Ellen Whites writings. In this book Walter Rea gives evidence he collected from both Ellen Whites own personal library and her writings. Walter Rea was a staunch supporter of Ellen White from as early as his teenage years and upon having access to her personal library went from being a dream come true to a nightmare. If the truth is important to you I recommend that you read this investigative book and decide for yourself if Ellen White was a prophetess, (in her words a messenger of GOD) or a very good researcher who lacked integrity. @@nicolagrant5450 I'm amazed how many CHRISTIANS don't want to understand the Bible beyond plucking a few jiffy texts out here and there. There's no way they can grasp the deeper topics in GC such as the judgment, Sabbath, sanctuary, mark of the beast, etc, if they can't be bothered to see them in the scripture.
To bad the book that was given to her is not the 1884 Great Controversy. Because the 1911 and anything printed after that is not fully inspired by God. Because it has been add and subtracted from her original writings.
This is your opinion. I recommend you watch a video on the Great Controversy versions, by Pr Bill Hughes at Truth Triumphant ministries. It sure enlightened me on why there were some edits, and why they were in harmony with what Ellen White wanted. Pr Hughes is very firm on truth and wouldn't give bad information on this. Check it out

Ellen White denied, "Borrowing" from other authors and insisted that her writings were inspired by visions from GOD and written in her words; this isn't up for debate! This is a proven and admitted fact regardless if you want to admit it or not. She never gave any credit to the authors see, "Borrowed" from let alone a simple footnote, because then she would have had to admit that she lied. This isn't about her work not being inspiring, it's about her lying and the truth being covered up and a wrong not being made right. Blessings

The brief is in no way considered a legal ruling declaring innocents. Did you read the part where he said and I quote, "There is no reason why Ellen White could not use the ideas of others in expressing the thoughts she wished to convey." Ramik: Mrs. White was, if I may use the expression that has been used by others, a literary “borrower.” And that she had borrowed a lot and that she had borrowed with something less than candor and honesty! Ramik: I believe that the critics have missed the boat badly by focusing upon Mrs. White’s writings, instead of focusing upon the messages in Mrs. White’s writings."

We can pretty well know. If you've got Jesus in your heart and you keep n His commandments etc and you are in submission to Jesus then you're well on the way. If you know His voice by reading the bible, praying and souchong worshiping every day then your know if you're in relationship. Why di you ask

It's good to see. Also very surprising! I admit I haven't read any of Ellen's works yet. I have my reasons and it isn't because I don't want to. I heard about the cult nonsense when I first joined the SDA Church and have been doing my best to convince people we aren't in a cult. I advocate for our church, not our founder per se (yet). I can better convince people when they realize I am not influenced by her writings. Those who actually care I mean. I will be starting on The Great Controversy soon though as I am more and more eager to read it. Plus it has been four years now for me and if that isn't long enough to convince others then they cannot be convinced. Our church has the truth and teaches it!

I have proven my point already to those around me that our church isn't a cult since I rely only on the Bible in matters concerning God. As we all do... I think now, after 4 years of service and being a deacon in training, I can start to enjoy her writings.

@@simtspestcontrol1561 it teaches that Satan and Jesus were once equals and that God is a weak God who is having to come up with plans on the fly to deal with Lucifer's accusations and needs to vindicate his character and prove his commandments are just. Do you not see how that makes Satan more powerful than he actually is, makes Jesus an elevated being instead of eternal God as part of the Trinity, and makes god look weak and like he is not in control and sovereign?
