Very true. I've watched many hours of the games so far and I haven't seen one metal ceremony. The evening primetime recap show has been stetchy too; sometimes they air it, sometimes they don't.

Hmmm...maybe it's because America chose to enslave and exploit the black race for 250 years, then followed that up with the Jim Crow era? Those kinds of things tend to hinder a race of people from making any of meaningful advancements. If America hadn't instituted racism and oppression against black people, there would be no need to say "first black". There would simply be achievements; as it always should have been. This is just one of the PLETHORA of reasons why racism is so destructive. And, please spare me the 'blacks we're sold into slavery by other blacks' argument. Doesn't obsolve the buyer.
