Definitely gonna get a couple of these. Glad the MRE companies are exploring more diverse mains, as there is tons of underrated stuff from around the world that are suited to MRE's, and also taking it as an opportunity to innovate.

Thanks for your review. It helped me a lot!! I ordered me a Case of 10 Halal-MRE´s a few days ago. The private seller told me, the rations are a 2023 production. They came in a normal MRE-Box which has been resealed. This box said 2023, but the rations had late 7000 and early 8000 production-codes. The main-entrees are packed in these little boxes like I can see in your video. Knowing that these little boxes in normal MRE´s have been replaced by cardboard-sleeves many years ago (somewhen before 2015), I wondered if these Halal-Rations are from 2007 and 2008. Good thing you mentioned the "Best Before"-Date on this little Pretzel-Package. It is unusual and I just overlooked it the first time. After your video I looked again and found a "Best-Before"-date with April 2019 on a 8059 MRE. Now I know that my Halal-MRE´s are from 2017 and 2018. So maybe the main-entrees should be good and maybe all the other stuff in brown packaging. The first thin silver coloured pack with cheese crackers has a very bad smell. It is just like you say it - the packaging is much to thin to keep the stuff in good condition.

this is one of my favorite US MREs, the packaging for halal MREs has changed to the same bag that AmeriQuall uses as their inner bag for their standard MREs. the sides packaging has also been improved to be like the pouch the grape drink came in

These halal have all kinds of good snacks and menu change ups. I wish for more breakfast menus outside the oatmeal.

If your frameless ration heater doesn’t work use salt water!!! It will activate some dead heaters!
