Surprise & shocked when I received the Catalog. First it doesn’t even feature a picture of the Britannia collaboration, supposedly sold out at the time I received it. And lo and behold it’s a miracle what’s sold out is no longer so. We don’t even lie anymore, we gaslight!
If you don't get one of the "Flowing Hairs" you need to pick up a Grover Cleveland (or 2) to keep your streak alive. Chances are you will be the only 1 on your block to own an GC.
im not a Kennedy half collector but I will get the 2025 as it is the last year , and all the 2026 coins that I can afford. also the 2027 Kennedys new design. I started collecting again after 30 years in 2021 and fomo has been kicking my butt, Im finally getting over it and will cut way down thanks in part to the U.S. mint going nuts with there pricing.
Wolvie The Kennedy Half's are at 3,200,00 total as of the Month of May 2024 . Total for the year of 2024 13,400,000 I am wondering if the mint will make more :-))
🤔 Back in the old days...We'd call it a "Wish Book" (Just like the old latest Sears Catalogs) 😝. Good luck resisting temptation 😂😝!!! In the meantime.... Thumbs Up and Algorithm Food 👍 !!! 🚬😎......😁!!!!
Got a commercial from the US Mint at the opening of your video. Talk about on the nose. I always retain those mint catalogs - I have no idea why. Maybe to look back at the prices and feel even worse about what I'm paying now. Can't see any reason the '24 M/P dollars will be anything other than a rinse/repeat.
Although I hate the US Mint with a white hot passion right now, I gotta have the flowing Hair Medal. Not the gold, that price is absurd, but the silver is sooo sweet. Hopefully not 300,000 mintage, and recurring releases. But after all, isn't that their game now, reduce no profit eagles, and flood us with triple spot price silver?
Check out the prices re-sellers get for these types of gold coins and you'll realize that the popular gold coins from the US Mint hold their value in the secondary market, sometimes much more, especially if you get the coin graded and the mintage is limited.
I didn’t know they mail out catalogs for some reason. I just made sure that I will receive one. Do they mail out more than one catalog a year ? I read somewhere that they send out 2 different catalogs a year. Just wondering.
One last comment for the day, while silver hasn’t gone anywhere big in the last decade, compare and contrast that to the raises on prices the mint has committed on us.
I have one as well really do wish that they would do more different types of coins so that they don't have to basically rely on the same thing every year
I’m only looking to get the flowing hair Liberty gold coin. The Morgan and peace dollars are too overproduced to be collectible. I’ll probably be skipping them this year as well.
I'm not buying anything from the mint until they come up with a low mintage beauty. I've cancelled all of my subscriptions. The re-release of the reverse proof Morgan and Peace dollar put the last nail in the coffin for me. I wouldn't have purchased the first set had I known. The mint reminds me of a used car sales man!
PURLE HEART NEGRO BASEBALL LEAGUE WHITE HOUSE NORMANDY WEST POINT U.S. ARMY ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETARY ARE JUST A FEW OF COMMEMORATIVE MODERN SILVER DOLLARS WITH MINTAGES VERY LOW 20,000-40,000 MAXIMUM MINTAGE.
I have 4 1995W PROOF 70 silver eagles only 30,000 mintage sold in a set only. They are worth on the secondary market 20,000-60,000 dollars. I have collectors chomping at the bit asking me to sell offering me gold sovereigns for payment.
Why do that when you can buy the whole set ungraded online for like 8k. 30k+ for a silver eagle, no thanks but hey I’d get rid of at least one for a handful of reverse proof gold buffaloes or something cool like that
I’ll bet the flowing hair mintages will be fairly high. They’ve made a big deal out of the design and will want to sell as many as possible. I’ll guess 250K limit for silver medal and 25K limit for the gold. You HAVE to buy something from the mint this year. Collecting the free catalog doesn’t count 😅. Maybe you will luck out and they’ll mis-label the flowing hair silver as a coin instead of a medal - you would get a rare item plus a coin since you don’t like medals. Good luck and enjoy the US mint for better or worse.
Given all the mint products I buy you would think I would get the catalog but I did not. That could be because I buy so much stuff from the mint. Mintage limits will be the primary swing factor that drives my fold flowing hair gold medal decision. Aside, collectors collect. That is why you are collecting the catalog. I can collect almost anything I can justify and justification is cheap.
Probably not going to get the flowing hair metal. I only got the liberty Britannia because of the UK versions being a coin and I wanted the full collection in silver.
What's up SW, I will probably end up getting both flowing hair metal and coin to add to the collection. Sure would be cool to get them in smaller size like a quarter ounce of gold as to not hurt the wallet too much. Some of us still get paid like we did in the 80's! Lol. Jk😂, if that was the case, I wouldn't be chime in fo sho. Lol, keep up the good content, my friend!
I also got the catalog. No interest in this year's coins. I will not be buying anything from the mint this year. I bought many coins from them in the past. I don't like the direction the mint is taking. The mintages are too high. Buying coins this year will only result in financial losses.
Ooops one more. Why couldn’t the mint have made the flowing hair a dollar commemorative? Have room for it? Then drop one of the two and voila, instant hit. But a medal is meh
Limit of 1 per household. But if you have connections, you can get hundreds or thousands. And THEY will probably get all the privy marks for themselves. Pathetic U.S. Mint
Ohh very nice SW HOW COOL FROM US MINT am just getting the flowing hair us mint and maybe look for a graded one and that's it nothing else us mint should do a very low mintage Eagle..
