Commenting before even watching the video. Just bought my first gold buffalo when gold hit just over 2700. I said enough is enough. I'm not waiting for 3000. I've always wanted to get into gold stacking and never did cause of the price. This video says 6 months old. Bet it feels good knowing you didn't wait any longer amd watched your gold grow in value already by quite a large number.
The ABPP is supposed to have access to 10% of the mintage. 8926 is 12% of 75,000. Ok, that is a bit over 10%. But, that indicates to me that a) there will not likely be any more ABPP sales, and b) that the Mint intends to sell the remaining 25+K medals. When and how is anyone's guess. Some of those sales will likely be at a US Mint booth(s) at a large coin show (eg, FUN show or other). Others may be on hand for sales at Mint branch gift shops. But, the bulk of those 25+K may be sold online in a "second batch".
Minting silver coins requires an act of Congress. The US Mint can mint medals without Congressional approval; it also can do the same for medals *and* coins made of gold, platinum, or palladium. The issue of silver coins stems from the problem it had over 100 years ago, when Congress forced the Treasury to buy millions of ounces of silver (from the Comstock Lode), and the stockpile sat in warehouses for decades. The Mint was forced to produce the Morgan silver dollar, which wasn't accepted at the time because it had a lower silver content than the Trade Dollar. Thus, the US government had to ban the Trade Dollar (yes, the only US coin to be banned) to force people to use the Morgan Dollar. Anyway, the Morgans accumulated in warehouses, too, and when the laws were rescinded, the Mint melted millions of them without regard to the year, mint, and mintage.
Thank you SW! Friday morning at 7:30 am I saw it go red and clicked on the add button but nothing happened. I clicked and clicked and tried some more, but I guess OUR mint just shut the door on me. I could add other items but not that. Anybody else have any trouble?
So I called the mint regarding this medal, I got one. I explained that mine has a very obvious scratch on it and I was curious if I could get a replacement. The person I talked to said no, I then asked if they'd released all the 75,000 that were to be minted. The answer I got was that the discrepancy could have to do with the fact that the remaining haven't been cleared of payment. That answer seemed weak sauce to me, but who knows?
Silver Wolverine before they announced the mintage limit for this coin on US Mint website . I contacted a bulk purchaser that advertised on ebay asking him what the mintage limit was going to be he emailed back to me that the mintage limit was 50,000 . So I believe they only minted that amount and are waiting to see response of sales and can mint an additional 25,000 without POing collectors.
One of my FL medals has an elongated spot that could be the most unusual milk spot I've seen. Not sure if I should return it or keep it as a value increase speculation. The numbers are a mystery that will be resolved when the mint decides the time has come. That is what makes this why this is a guessing game - no one knows. I'll bet even the mint management team has no clue. Is it possible they minted much less than 75,000 knowing that sales in general have declined? I think so.
Prediction… the flowing hair gold coin goes on sale November 14th at noon. The Baltimore coin show is November 14-16. That’s where flowing hair silver medals will be. To sell with the gold coins. Prediction….. flowing hair gold coin will be priced $3,800-$4,100 . But most likely under $4,000.
Bureaucrats not following their own rules - what a surprise. Government agency manipulating things* - what a surprise. * Manipulating the availability to artificially create a perceived "shortage" and drive up prices on secondary market. And turning the conversation from "Is it a Dud?" to "Look how quick The Mint Sold Out". BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Mint.
What the heck? How many of the Privy Marks and COAs were included in the 50k they actually sold? Are they holding back 33% of those to include in the ones not released or did they go out with the ones that have already sold?
Just a thought, maybe they want to do a FHD silver medallion and a FHD 1oz gold two coin set at a later time so they are holding back some of the silver ?????
Wonder if returns change the sales numbers? I know a lot of ppl are getting messed up medals and milk spots so they are sending them back. Maybe those subtract from their sales?
I wonder if they put all the privy mark and sighned ones in the "first batch" since they didnt know if it would sell out? Hope not. This specific situatio n is one of those "The less the customers know, the better for sales" type thing. Who knows???
After finding out they didnt win, tons are being returned with fingerprints.price will be $50 in a month.not a coin,a medal.there wont be any gold returns.cant verify number made
Good Evening Sir! If the bulk sold numbers are 8,926 It's over the allowed 10% limit of 7,500. Just like someone had commented earlier. Plain and simple... The U.S.Mint is breaking it's own rules. Completely Unexceptable
As always, great information here SW! Would love to know how many Privy mark coins are still available if any. The bulk sales number or lack of- interesting.
HI Wolvie . It will be interesting what the mint does on the Balance of the Flowing Hair . This maybe the same as the Liberty Medal earlier . The Mint Sold 33,000 and never came back :-))
Early on the talk was that everyone would buy and return non privy’s. I wonder how many people will return, now that they can just flip it and double their money.
This medal release and all of the subsequent fallout has left me dazed and confused ... exactly as I was before the release. All I can say is I never saw it (the chaos) coming.
The mint reps are nothing more than people who take orders and receive complaints. I'm not knocking them or marginalizing them - they are good people doing their job. And that is my point, their job is to answer phone calls and go home. They know very little about mint operations and the decision process.
What did you expect they are run by Democrats cheat lie and steal... After the first of the year, I'm done with the US Mint shutting down my account. I'll still listen to your videos. "Go Blue"
O.K. , so in 2019 the U.S. Mint sold a portion of the 2019s Enhanced Reverse Proof at the Baltimore Coin Show as well as on the Mint Website that same day. So , knowing that, it is in my opinion that the U.S. Mint will Absolutely release the remaining Silver Medals/Coins at the November 14th 2024 Baltimore Coin Show. And as a side note: if they don't release the remaining silver medals at the Baltimore Coin Show, well then it's in my opinion that the Value of the 49,995 that has been released into the wild will explode. 🤔
What is this 'flowing hair' image supposed to represent? Pause @1:00 and the 2024 image appears to be androgenous. Now, pause @7:23 and the same coin's image is different. It looks more like a man with long hair with a hint of a bosom just below the MAN'S neck; too high to be a woman's natural breast formation. Are you alleging that BOTH of these coins are the same?
I think their numbers are showing low to adjust for the anticipated returns. It will be interesting to see if the secondary sales will result in anyone receiving privy marked medals. I have a feeling they are going to be inundated with returns.
