@@JaynotthewayThat isn’t the problem, the problem is that school shootings make this something parents have to teach their kids. Parents wouldn’t have to do this is school shootings didn’t happen.
I mean, even using the heavily bloated statistic which includes suicides in parking lots amongst other things, theres only 380ish school shootings a year and there are 100k schools in america, these shootings rarely go over six dead and the schools I’ve been in have had atleast 300 students so I’m feeling pretty good on my odds but even so I always keep a first aid kit on me for the much more real scenario of a car crash or someone getting hurt in physical exercise.
Bruh thats very dumb like i don't give a **** the main obejective is to survive and i will guarantee it. I am jumping out the window and grabbing on to the flags and then i just flee the vicinites. (For anyone thinking i made this cringy just know that this plan right here does actually work cuz the flags are in front of the class windows and its not a long way down)
Elementary schools don’t have anything in there backpacks any firearms can shoot threw but middle schools and high school were safe plus the kid most likely should in the school
@@U.S.A.F_1 if every kid had a bullet proof backpack that could stop 7.62 rounds the kids would be way safer in the even of an actual shooting granted they’ve had a class or something on what to do in that scenario
Omg im from Australia and this made me cry knowing you guys are teaching your kids this and carrying bullet proof school bags whats this world coming too😢😢😢
As a teacher what have you done professionally to prepare yourself for this? Have you lobbied for training and arming volunteers at your school? After all these shooters aren't looking for a gunfight they're looking for fame. Have you bothered to take a stop the bleed class? Maybe a class could be put on for faculty and staff at the school after hours. How many tourniquets are at your school? Has anybody practiced with those. I mean it doesn't take an active shooter for a student to have an arterial bleed. 🤷🏼♂️ Several years ago I took an active shooter course in Nashville Tennessee and what I learned was if your response to an active shooter event is to call 911 expect between 20 and 30 casualties. I also learned most people killed in an active shooter event are shot in their hiding place or where they "locked down" This information comes from a study of the history of active shooter events since 1999 Finally what I learned was that the school lockdowns which are so popular with school districts around the country always work just fine until a shooter actually shows up Run fight hide
One of the several reason I chose to homeschool. Other than the curriculum not being challenging enough, I’m not risking a Uvalde situation with my kids.
My heart just broke into a million pieces for all the Mama’s and Daddy’s out there having to teach their children this. It’s sad that this world is getting worse instead of better with the knowledge we have.
Worse ..the used to gas people in chambers .hell the real Dracula aka Romanian leader impales people through their rear end and left them as warnings.... The used to make people fight lions lol you just soft and have blue hair
Lmao she didn’t “need” to teach her kid this, you are statistically 30 times more likely to be stuck by lightning than to be involved in a school shooting, in 2020 there where 10 US school shootings resulting in atleast one death. Although over 300 people per year have been struck by lightning. This isn’t a necessity and it’s fear mongering
We wouldn't have to teach em this stuff if evil wasn't real. You know why in the 60s school shooting started? Because they told everyone they ain't allowed to have ther Guns in there trucks or cars in the parking lot. No insane person who wants to live would go attack ppl that can fight back.
@@Burntwater35 And it would be even more said if the trained him for this and then in the panic and rush of things, he couldn't stop himself wailing in fear or the shooter said; 'Hey! The cops are here!' and he yelled; 'Good, help us!' and the shooter came in. You can only put so much responsibility on a child facing off against a clever, weapon-carrying adult. And that responsibility is like 2%.
The worst part is the statistics. I did some calculations and found something scary: You have about a 12% chance of experiencing a school shooting in your lifetime, and about 1.5% per year. This is if you live in God blessed country of the US of A Many people compare the odds of a shooter to the odds of winning the lottery. This should put it into perspective. Your odds of going through a school shooting in your life is the same as rolling 8 dice and getting the number 6 on all. Winning the lottery is like rolling 2 300,000 sided die and getting 6 on both.
I'm 29 and have a 5 year old brother. Sent this to my mom to drill with him... It makes me sick to think he could EVER be put in a situation like this. I don't think I could handle being the mom of a public school kid... The dread would overtake me for sure.
It barely happens. The shootings are over reported. Around 60 children have been killed in schools this year, some of which are boosted up because of ghetto schools. You are just as likely if not less to be struck by lightning than being killed in a mass school shooting.
@@t0tallyz3n dude, it’s still possible. And the chances aren’t a million to one. There still is a chance. So my point is that bulletproof backpacks shouldn’t exist. Especially in an elementary school.
As an American I can confirm that yes we do have a gun problem , but props to this mom for going the extra mile to keep her son safe I got more likes than all my vids combined 😅
@@Monkevibebecause maybe this guy was speaking of uvalde because that shooting is more recent in time and relevant in subject matter to this video than columbine
This is absolutely heartbreaking. There is nothing as terrifying as the thought of something happening to your child, especially when you're not there to protect them. Children are the only innocent and must be kept from harm at all costs.
@@kittykittybangbang9367 that doesn't take away from the fact that kids are running around stabbing each other at record numbers in England what point are you trying to prove?

I find it heart wrenching that children have to be taught this, it makes me want to cry. no child should have to fear this. its honestly the most horrible thing in this the world. edit: ty for the likes ig here a lil kiss mwa
They dont, this is fear mongering. Kids are more likely to get struck by lightning then be in a school shooting. The media makes it seem like it happens alot more then it actually does.
It’s heartbreaking that kids this young need to be learning how to not die at school, school should be the main safe space but nope, little kids are learning about how them and their friends might die.
They should be a safe place but they’re soft targets which attracts criminals. Criminals are statistically not going to target areas with armed security. Reduce school shootings = implement armed guards and make it known to the public.
What's stupid is that we insist on scaring kids constantly about the least likely thing that is ever going to happen. It's just part of keeping everyone on edge so they are easier to "lead." Now that they don't have them jump jndernthekr desks for the nuclear bomb we scare them with school shooters.
@@cynfulpsyko420 What's ridiculous is the need to terrify kids all the time. It's a way to keep them and you on edge so they can control you, exactly as HL Mencken said.
Its no different than the nuclear bomb drills we did as children. It prepares children to think ahead, and make assertive decisions that may preserve their lives. Its no different than teaching children what to do if a stranger approaches them, if a stranger is at the door, or on the phone. It is YOUR JOB as a parent, to teach children that the world isn't roses and unicorns. Although, even at a young age, I knew that hiding under a desk provided absolutely no protection against a nuclear attack.
@@friendlyfire7861 When you're prepared, you aren't scared. You have clarity of mind, and a process to follow which allows the mind to make assertive decisions, rather than panicking. It is TRAINING. Without training...the mind has nothing to tether, and only reactive instincts remain. Some freeze, some panic and run about with no guidance for what to do next, and subsequently die.
I'm holding my new baby right now and this made me cry. I hope one day we see some real change in this country. School should be safe yet so many people have sent their babies to school and never got to bring them home. My heart breaks that this poor baby even has to learn this stuff. Monsters are real.
This would all be very easy to stop because the people doing these shootings aren't looking for a gunfight they're looking for a way to become famous. It's simply a matter of finding people who are willing to volunteer, train, the training is super important. Your average cop on the street doesn't have enough training.
This is just sad man, parents having to teach their kids what to do when there's a school shooting. Kids and parents shouldn't have to worry about their school being shot up. Things have gone way too far in USA.
@Aadit None of those things have contributed in anyway but hateful people taking their frustration on political climates out on children. Not only that but the only thing you should blame is the lack of good regulations on these kinds of things. If the distribution of firearms was more restricted (better background checks, checking mental stability, proper training, etc), this would be a less common problem.
I’m a father and I have 2 little boys. This video ripped out my heart. I can’t even imagine the terror my babies would feel and me not being able to protect them, it’s gut wrenching.
This makes me absolutely heart broken that children even have to think about this. And when this kid is showing what to do he has a smile on his face the whole time, which makes it even more heartbreaking. Amen to that mother🩷
our teachers have a medical bag in every classroom. they contain a crowbar, medical supplies, water, etc. My teacher said if theres a shooter and hes not in the classrom with us, the strongest kid needs to take the crowbar and break the window. everyone escape out of the window and run away as far as possible. Our school has a nearby wooded area , he said try to run into the trees and wait until you see cops

AmErIcA dOeSnT hAvE a GuN pRoBlEm It really is disgusting that people can't see what is right in front of their eyes. Nowhere else in the world do we have to teach kids this.
It's a mental health problem. The fact you think it's the guns fault a person decides to go into a school and kill someone. If they didnt have a gun theyd use a knife. Theyd kidnap and kill. Theyd be harder to find.

Yes, there are several companies that make backpacks with the bullet resistant plates built into them. Of course they aren't going to guarantee safety, like the person above is implying. But for a parent, anything is better than nothing at all.
Btw the backpacks are just there to make you feel safe. They barely stop bullets, and school shootings are rare only having a 00000.8 chance of it happening
That’s actually sad that this is what kids have to go through i think all schools should have a high level of security to help prevent kids having to go through this🙏.
This is absolutely sad that parents need to teach their kids this. My history teacher went on a rant on how him and his wife absolutely HATE doing lockdown drills and it makes them feel sick and horrible inside that it’s required. At first i didn’t think too much of it but after thinking, i realized how sad it is. I hope nobody reading this has a emergency situation like this happen to them or anything in their family.
As a father to two boys myself this brings tears to my eyes to know these sweet innocent kids have to know all of this at such a young age schools are supposed to be safe not battle fields we have to do better in this country
As an american living roughly 7 hours from Uvalde TX i can say that this is something that CHILDREN should NEVER EVER have to worry about. I applaud the parents that have had to make the difficult decision to teach their children things like this, and the teachers and administrators of districts everywhere that have made changes to buildings and staff training. I will always believe that there is NO WAY THIS SHOULD EVER HAPPEN IN SCHOOLS EVER!
I pulled my son out of school and into the safety of our home and the amount of quality time i get with him has changed our lives. school isn't worth it anymore

I've read the crime stats there. Your kids aren't safe anywhere. These shootings only happen in gun free zones anyway. Everyone is presumed armed in my community. As a woman I can and have walked safely to the store in the dark. We have armed police in the schools and reinforced doors to protect our kids.
