No pop stars, no vocal show offs, just the Star Spangled Banner, the cadets, and the US Army Herald Trumpet Corps. Higher quality version can be heard / seen by clicking here: • US National Anthem by ...
I'd rather hear these honorable men and women perform our anthem any day over a pop star. The melody doesn't need to be changed, its perfect how it was originally written.
how pop stars sing it: "O SAY DUZ THAAAAAAAAT STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR SPAAAANGLD BAAAAAH NAAAAR YE EEET WAAAAAAAAAY AAAAY AY AAAAYVE, OER THE LAAAND A AV THE FREEEEE EE EEE!!!!!!!!1 AND THE HOOOOMEEE OOOOOOOOF THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE BUH RAAAAAAAAAVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE *SCREAM!"
Last time I went to the Atlanta dome, I got to see a high school/college band play the star spangled banner (forgot who sung it). It was the closest thing i could compare to this masterpiece
It should be sang in harmony, just like that. Instead of simply being sang by one person. Being sang by those who are part of our future military service is even better. It represents honor to our country. Not just simple fame for being a music artist.
I am Canadian, I love the ideals for which your country stands, and is the single greatest example of in human history. I get misty eyed every time I watch this video.
This is the best performance of our National Anthem. It is sung with feeling, very moving, and this is the way it should be sung, by Americans, our military choirs..very moving.
As an American citizen, I appreciate my Slavic heritage from Russia, Poland, and the Czech Republic. Russia and US would be very good allies. I just know it
After serving in Vietnam, I came back home wounded, but unbowed. I was invited to sit above the third base dugout at Wrigley Field, and honored to sing the National Anthem, that day. Note that I was formerly a member of the chorus of the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Still in uniform, I limped out, used my voice for what it was meant for, and sang the anthem, and the crowd came unglued. Literally, it was the best day of my life. And the Cubs won, that day!
Mr. Ritter, I will say what a woman said to me, "Thank you for keeping us safe and coming home". Vietnam 72-74, but when I was younger, I was an Andy Frain Usher. Many happy memories working at Wrigley.
This was an amazing performance up until the 1:37 mark... then the drums and trumpets and perfectly timed fly-over raised it exponentially and made it, by far, the best I've ever heard. I can't imagine this will ever be topped. But if it is, I hope I'm around to experience it! Well done Soldiers!
When I want a reminder of what's right and honorable, this is the version. Those young men and women from the service academies and the herald trumpets and percussion - respectful yet awesome. Would rather have this at every Superbowl. Always appropriate.
Matt Scholz - This may be a huge longshot, but did you live on NAF/NPTR El Centro between 1974-1978? With your folks, Dutch and Char (Shar?), and your brothers, Fred, Mark and Greg? 🙏🏻🤞🏻
A song that was written at a battle in the war of 1812, by a poet who was captured by the British navy. The poet watch as the British rained hell on the fort and the only way that he knew that the army hadn't surrendered was when the explosions lighted up the sky and reviled the United States flag still flying proud. The British bombarded the fort all night then gave up at morning. We won a battle against the most powerful navy in the world at that time. I say this is the best song for our national anthem.
This is how it should always be at the Super Bowl. Actually preformed well and meaningly, unlike the pop stars that usually do it, overdo it, try to modernize it, and do it only for the glory and paycheck.
The military choirs sure do a good job! How it was intended to be sung. I can't stand it when pop stars or even rock stars put their own little twists on it.
14 years later Still gives me chills. I’ve watched this countless times but never realized until now that it was a joint flyover with F-22’s and F/A-18’s. Amazing
+Tom Hallam Some ancient records still found in England refer to a "robber in hood" I believe is the translation. OH ! How I LOVE watching Time Team ! ! !
+Renegade The exact reason I came to see this video was to see what other people from other countries had to say :) Three comments in and I've received more positivity from a RU-vid comments section than I have ever seen before.
All different races singing this song together. That is what it is all about, coming together to celebrate AMERICA, THE LAND OF THE FREE, and THE HOME OF THE BRAVE!
As a New Zealander I must say when I came across this video of the American anthem being sung like this it made me very happy, absolutely beautiful. Cheers from New Zealand ;P 🇺🇸🇳🇿
Amazing. Such Patriotic unity. Soldiers, Players, and Crowd. 😢I miss that America of the 80's and 90's. Even with the LA riots and other problems. There was a strength of character and general mutual respect amongst the citizenry. God Bless America. ♥️
That statement brought a tear to my eye. I wasnt born yet but i believe the leaders at that time we happy to do it.. not really happy, but you know what i mean,, Please help us take our country back.
This is really an incredible. beautiful Anthem. That's why americans are so damn patriotic, can't you see yourself putting your blood, sweat and tears for a country that has this awersome anthem?
That is the best US national anthem performance ever. Did you hear the crowd go crazy after that? That was fucking awesome. I'm sick of these celebrities thy act like they care to sing the national anthem when they don't. They just do it to get paid and get more exposure. This is how the national anthem should be in any big sports event. Sung by the real Heros who fight for our country. This gives me the chills everytime.
I am European, I love the ideals for which your country represents and is the greatest example of human history. My eyes tarnish every time I watch this video.
We love everyone that aspires to those high ideals- and know we have many friends and partners around the world that share our values and ideals. God Bless you, Romeo!
There was a very brief period of time that they “enhanced” the imaging quality without it being technically 720p…. I remember cbs calling it something unique like presented in higher definition for one season until it was bumped to 720p broadcasting I might be totally wrong on some of this though, just memory that’s from 15 years ago so forgive me if I’m wrong here … lol
Besserwisser read my top post, and upgrade your perspective to the full truth... it is not the USA, it's worse... not going to repeat, just find the post.
God bless America my dad seved in army he is in heaven now he had a military burial played taps gave me the flag it Hit me in my heart God bless America
I'm from italy and we are celebrating our 70th year of Freedom from nazifascists. THANK YOU AMERICA for saving Europe and giving us the possibility of a democratic nation. Respect to the best anthem of this world and God Bless USA. Editing it after 7 YEARS and during Russian criminal invasion of Ukraine. USA still stand strong with the right part of the history, with Ukraine, NATO and against all the oppression of new regimes like China and Russia. Thank God for having you as allies in these grim times.
***** You don't understand history or know very much about America. The US was considered an isolationist country back then it didn't get involved in affairs clear on the other side of the world. Now that the US does in this era people still bitch about that too.
***** The U.S. was fighting on more than a couple of fronts. May have been late, but can you imagine if we didn't come at all? There were some places that were liberated only by the Americans. For all you know, he could be talking about a specific place in Italy that the Americans helped to liberate. There really should be no doubt that the US was the straw that broke the back of the Axis. We nuked the Japanese and mass invaded France and swept into Germany. Nobody is doubting Britain's involvement or Russia's. This is a video of the nation anthem of the US...is someone going to come on here a direct a thank you at the Brits in a video like this? It has nothing to do with Britain. So why would they? He/she is clearly directing it at Americans for helping. It's almost illogical to go back in time and think about what decisions were made. Shine was right, the US was an isolationist during that time...we were provoked into war. We were isolationists because we were still healing from the Great Depression and the consensus was that we wanted to remain neutral because of what happened in WWI. Our economy was geared toward peacetime. We weren't even prepared to enter the war for a while.
+olav paulson My 2nd cousin flew out of Russia in a Russian bomber with a crew of all Russian women. He was the navigator and has many stories to tell of those days.
+Apocalypse2000 Respect and honor to Italia from the USA. A large part of our population is Italian, my great grandfather came in the 1860's from Genoa). Thank you for your kind comments but if it were not for Italian immigrants we would be a lesser USA. Thank you Italy sincerely from California
"In the land of the free! And the home of the brave!" Those last two lines are beautifully written - great melody too. One of my favourite anthems! Greetings from the UK ^_^
YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!! That is the way our National Anthem SHOULD BE SUNG! Leave out the Hollywood garbage, the glitter and the glitz, and just focus on singing our Anthem!
Speaking as a musician, this is how our National Anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner, should be performed - with respect and the dignity it deserves. NO pop stars "personalizing" the Anthem with their poor phrasing, "personalized" version screamed at the top of their lungs! When the National Anthem is sung or played, it should be done "straight", as in this performance. That's what our National Anthem deserves! Brian Ashland, OR
I've tried very hard to be a good Christian and I do not see idolatry in saluting our national flag and singing the National Anthem. I was so proud to hear this version that I cried. This is sung as it should be sung.
THE BEST version? This is it! The choices: A drug-addled pop star, or young US Academy members who have committed their lives to protecting our nation.
If only Switzerland and Italy (my countries) could be so patriotic without beeing call "racists, nationalists fulls" by europeans, and even by their own citizents. Like other comments here, I admire USA for their patriotism. I'm not american, but this video give me goosebumps.
Long live the United States of America! Love from Japan. Thank you America for reviving our Democracy, contribution and not punishing us after World War 2. We will forever be your best ally.
Japan is actually my favorite country outside of my own. (USA) I have much respect for you and your country. I hope we may continue to be friends. My father worked half of his life for a joint Japanese/American company. Denso. :)
If you're an Anti-American, fine. I don't care much for your slander. But I will not stop you from talking garbage. You have the given right to do so. For brave men and women have fought to the death to ensure you this right. And that, I respect highly.
As a dutch cevilian I would love to visit the land of the free in the future, I'm so happy to see you show your daily respect to the flag and people who served🫡
I have heard the national anthem played while serving overseas and have seen our allies Saluting the American flag I felt deep pride...Proud to have been an airman
