US New ATTACK Helicopter Will CHANGE Battlefield Forever! 

FARA program was cancelled I think. They figured out that drones are a cheaper solution both for recce and attack without putting lives on the line. Helicopters imo in the future are only going to serve as troop transport/medic

If the RAH-66 Comanche was not cancelled there would have been a new stealth attack helicopter many years ago. The Apache is a great weapons platform but is aging.

Aha, the Program was cancelled in February 2024…..! The DoD spent $19.6 billion from 2006 to 2024. Didn’t even get a working prototype. FINALLY, the DoD recognized a UAV can do all the jobs expected of a Reconnaissance helicopter….

I think that the Pentagon has made a huge mistake by canceling the FARA program because the 360 Invictus bell helicopter is one radical attack helicopter.

That's a shame it was cancelled because I'd like to see a fly off of the Bell 360 INVICTUS and the AH-1 VIPER! 😊❤

To bad it's not going to happen, I was a big fan of the RAH- 66 Comanche. It seems like every time they get close to a prototype it's already obsolete. Just like this one it has already been cancelled.

Department of Defense should go ahead and build them. We will need them.

the stub wings on the Invictus could do with some active moving surfaces, such as trailing edge flaps for additional lift & a single underwing hard point (optional) . . .

Just my personal opinion on the attack helicopters. They need to be down sized to a single pilot operation. More power plant and weapons technology. They have a purpose as close ground support. They need to be used in conjunction with drones monitoring the battlefield and taking on the more dangerous elements of the battlefield to save the helicopters. That’s just me!

Invictus looks to be the evolution of Cheyenne and Comanche. Which means it would have never gotten accepted and kept in perpetual R&D instead. Somebody in army aviation needs to stop clutching their pearls all the time and grow a spine and actually put it into service. We're wasting too much money playing these games.

yeah, they don’t want this to work because it will cost money .The MIC ,loves the B-52 ,They want old stuff ,paid for already,but they want to charge the same amount to the military so yes, this works…like the Commanche.

The simulator for the RAH-66 was awesome, as was its mission capabilities. Shame they ultimately cancelled it.

I still think the RAH66 looked sleeker, but alas.... was a money-sink in its development. It is good to see that the lessons taken from that design have endured... but can you imagine instead of horizonal rotary lift....Bell develop a Tiltrotor encased Hybrid-Electric Turbofan system? much like the fictional Orca Aircraft from the Command & Conquer franchise? It seems more and more viable with the progression of Bell Boeing designs. I think they are going to be around for a long while and pushing the envelope of future aircraft, and potentially space craft in the not-too-distant future.

The Comanche has an internal tail rotor. This one has an external rotor.

I still think it needs the enclosed tale rotor. Most helicoptors have accidents due to the tale rotor. I feel with it being inclosed that would support it's mission purposes complimenting this awesome design.

Thing about drones is,what happens when some one works out how to disrupt the signal that controls the drone or worse hacks in wirelessly and take control.

Dude, when I was in HS I dreamed of flying the Apache replacement, the Light Helicopter Experimental (Lhx) Comanche. This looks just like that one. There was even a cpu game out. 4 bladed, internal storage bays for stealth…. Oh, then I watched the video…my bad.

Weapon systems are being built now with a hive mind so that AI can run it it's more important than its interconnected than it is in a strong weapons platform

FARA was CANCELED two months ago. Helicopter don't need more speed as they are too vulnerable to act as scouts. Drones are the future of scouting and attack helicopters will use those to stay out of danger and mark the targets. 5 minutes of actual googling the subject would have told you this video is obsolete. The US has no futuristic helicopters in design. The only attack helicopter nowadays in testing and next to service is the AW249 and is not from the USA.

I think they should refine it to be both stealthier, from radar and thermals, and be more modular such as being able to be outfitted with cargo or a personnel bay to escort troops at high speed. It would make the helicopter look like a much better deal to the Army/Marines/Navy.

I would like to see an optional 30mm gun, or mini gun. A chain gun is good too, however they usually need the barrels inspected about every 3500 rounds. I think the missile system is ok however I don't know much about it, the targeting range needs to be about 10 miles minimum. The French Tiger is probably as good, it's a shame they aren't supported well.

What can a helicopter do that a drone can't do better?

In my opinion this copper could be operated remotely and/or as a hybrid (manned). If it is set up properly for upgrades, it could be a multi-mission unit. Especially if it could change roles by a push of a button.

FARA was canceled and even the FAR more capable Defiant and Raider platforms were passed over so that the Army could finally lay hands on fixed wing aircraft. Decades old agreement was supposed to prevent the Army from ever having its own fixed wing aircraft. They have always hated it, so the new tilt rotor got the nod so the Army could finally fly fixed wing. Nothing to do with the right tool for the job, just an argument between 4 stars.

Invictas looks like an idea helicopter to scout forward if theres pilots to stay in the army over the year to become excellent commander pilot and digital intelligence officer should it gets chosen because the army ìsnt ready yet after watching the news! The rest of the NATO members dont dznce if the Americans government commit first ....perhaps it the equal chance of a Apache helicopter being retro fitted with better detection systems in a helicopter that perform more secretly made to be invisable by having its missiles stored internally!

Yes, program cancelled, because drones are cheaper and not putting pilots life in danger. Japanese are doing the same. I'm not a psecialist, but I feel that the drones are not the unique solution, as already seen with the missiles-only armed aircrafts in the 70's.

Ukraine changed the future of warfare. I think its gonna change the plans of every country developing new weapon systems. Financial situation also is going to cancel just about everything.

If they are going to select one of the 2 they selected for flying test models I like the Sikorsky model with a dual rotary system with a pusher motor that is faster and a better stabilized system, and it can be configured for all aspects of he battlefield from attack, rescue, transport, to whatever is needed
