Yellowstone National Park celebrated the start of 2024 with a banger, recording a pair of earthquakes in the first week of the new year. The most recent was a magnitude 3.1 earthquake at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday with the epicenter located 18 miles east of West Yellowstone along the Nez Perce River near the Lower Geyser Basin, at a depth of more than 6 miles.
