I think my biggest problem with Korra compared to ATLA is that none of the main cast had great chemistry with each other. Korra, Bolin, Mako and Asami feel so estranged by the end of the series. I think Mako got it the worst, it's like the writers sentenced him to obscurity after 2 seasons of love triangle BS. I guess there never was much dimension to him, but it feels like the writers gave up halfway through.

Y'know I noticed that you're getting less and less viewers for some reason and I just wanna say that the remaining people won't leave you and neither will I, I might not be a huge fan of some of the anime tier list but your characters alone make it worth watching all the funny moments with them, thanks for being such a good creator!

Liking Korra is really determinant on lots of things. First, if you really enjoyed the more ancient (chinese?) setting and prefer that over modern settings, you're already going to be biased against it, like me. You have to tolerate a REALLY insufferable protagonist at first and be willing to see them change over time. You have to be willing to see characters get seriously fucked up, see what is essentially torture porn for Korra (seriously, she goes through too much in my opinion but I can respect them taking it that far). You also have to deal with the truly terrible romance plot lines. It was seriously unnecessary in my opinion. It didn't add anything to the story and just make it more annoying than anything else. Think about it, Aang had a crush on Katara but it was almost never the center focus even if it was a motivating factor of whatever situation they were in. People breaking up all the time and dating another soon after. It was tiring to me. HOWEVER, I will say that Tenzin is easily one of my favorite characters in the ATLA franchise, even including the original series. He's the straight man but could let loose and be funny when it came down to it. In lots of ways, he is basically the Kakashi of the Korra series for those familiar with Naruto. That scene where he is attacked by those four people (forgot who) and the camera pans to behind a wall as you can hear be relentlessly beaten as he tries to stand his ground as long as possible. That was an incredible scene.

Tenzin is S and I like Mako cus he feels like a real person struggling to deal with all these major events happening nonstop. Dude's a real one.

Why do people say Korra severed her connections to past avatars? Unalaq did that, not her. At the beginning of Book 3, you even se her trying to get that connection back but it wasn't working.

I'm just loling my ass off at the fact that Mako got cucked by both girls he has dated. Since both Avatar and Korra have anime aspects, I have a suggestion of a character tier list from a show with similar aspects; a Netflix Castlevania Character Tier List. Also aww Kitty.

putting Kora and Zaheer in the same tier is a travesty. Zaheer was leagues a better character than Korra.

Woooooah it's not often that I completely 100% agree with a tier ranking like this, but this nailed it! (except MAYBE Opal and Meelo being a bit too high)

Glad they didn't include ALL of Suyin's kids. Win, Way, and Huan are barely in the show at all to warrant being rated.

On its own merits the show is honestly mid its not the worst thing ever but there is enough garbage writing to keep it from being good. As a sequle to Avatar it is a complete spit on everything Avatar built upp as it disrespects everything that came before the fucking M night shamalan movie is better because at least that isn't canon. It pretty telling that Korra only has two comics while Anng and the crew has like a lot more. Also in the comics they made Sozin homophobic for zero plot reason just to be he is a bad dude incase the fact that he started a 100 year war, commited genocide and left his best friend to die in a volcano didn't clue you in but hey he also didn't like gays just cause.

Just finished the show. They really juggled too many pointless characters. Bumi should've been introduced season 1 and meelo deleted all together. Desna could go in the bin too. They wasted Toph and Kitara. Honestly the villians showed up in the wrong order too. The dark avatar saga couldve been the last arc and scrap the kuvira story

I like korra better than ATLA. That is all.

Literally every new character is bottom tier other than Tenzen.
