@@vikingsword3485 every war puts us in deeper debt but there are always those who profit from it. A lot of people also profited off the afghan war, we spent 2.4 trillion on it and apparently 70% or so of that money went right back to the military industrial complex.
i've never heard anyone have anything bad to say about longshot. for better or for worse, he stood by Jet's side through it all, trusting and respecting him deep down, right to the end. his only words in thewhole show were a soft declaration of his loyalty for and protection over his leader. him standing over jet and smellerbee with his arrow drawn and watching the door is iconic. that scene was immediately promoted to classic just for him alone. truly an S tier character
Trump gives good analysis and I agree a lot with his view on flawed characters. He would likely agree with Sanderson's Second Law, which states "A character's limitations are more interesting than their abilities".
This is without a doubt the best meme format ive seen in years. Initially I thought it would be pretty mediocre like everything else but its got a lot of depth to it and enables some pretty good joke writing. The format of having trump be a loud opinionated contrarian, biden being slightly less loud and less of a contrarian but still holding strong opinions and obama being kind of mediator (and I guess george just being a mong) is superb. Gonna make one of these soon w the boys.
@@Jaydoff I would give you the same advice that random commenter did tho, them agreeing should be kind of the exception to the rule and trump and biden shouldnt show the same amount of respect to differing opinions as obama does
I'm sorry but Azula has to be in A for me. She's insane then she fails, but that's the whole point. She was too power hungry and it led to her downfall, she was exactly what Zuko had to avoid becoming. Banger video though.
@@Baddas_Surely the point of these tier lists is to evaluate a character’s contribution to the story. As the universal antagonist, personification of manifest-destiny era fire nation, and the foil to Zuko, which puts him on the path to redemption, Azula is pretty much indispensable. She is decently written and well voice acted. Her interactions are interesting and plot-critical. She and her team are the cause of tension in almost all of the last two chapters. If you like Zuko, Mai, Ty Lee, or any of the noble side characters during their pursuit of the avatar, it’s probably because of her.
Azula's a tragic character. Her father turned her into a weapon soley meant to get him power. He did not prepare her or intend for her to succeed him or replace him. She was a tool. Her realization of that and the man she devoted herself to never cared for her and she was no different than Zuko except that Ozai found her useful and Zuko not. Neither of them would get their father's love. Azula at the end is a sunk cost fallacy realizing her life was wasted and even if Ozai wins she never will.
i agree! S in my opinion but at least A. she was the best villain in the show and was really the only one closest to killing aang. in the end she lost to herself 😔
Love how they actually have reasonable arguments and not just way off the handle like most of these videos. Makes them feel way more relatable and enjoyable. Keep it up!
Azula’s an S for me cos she’s super compelling and the scenes she’s in are always intense. It’s why the last agnikai is more interesting than aang vs the firelord. Otherwise I think the list’s quite alright, never quite noticed how much pussy longshot actually got but now that u mention it, god damn!
Azula would have been better had her distention into madness received more screen time building up It just kinda came out of nowhere really She gets like a minute where she seems a little unhinged after her friends betrayed her and then nothing else till the finally Honestly B teir woulda been S if they gave her maybe 5 more minutes of build up before the finally
@@ahstinfixsnhc9765 I think they probably could have given it a bit more time, but I still believe they did a very good job with it. And besides that’s how it often is with people who have the mental disorder she has. The second she’s not in power and people don’t fear her, she crumble. Because to her the only power is fear.
@anonymouslyblessed I mean you're saying the same thing the show did tho He was going to fight her with katara then he noticed her mental health and fought her 1v1 Doesn't forgive how out of the blue Azula's mental breakdown felt
Also... just in case you read this @Jaydoff we REALLY need that episode 2... My prediction: Sokka - S tier, Zuko - A tier, King Bumi - A tier, Ty Lee - B tier, Ozai - C tier
I'm really fond of this new meme format; I think of it as almost a sort of internet-era Commedia dell'Arte, where different people can write scripts using these presidential archetypes in different scenarios, and audiences generally know what to expect from each archetype from the get-go. I usually think these tierlist videos are sort of the "bottom of the barrel" of the format -- just AI voices shouting slurs and "gamer speak" while parroting common toxic discourse on the given topic. I still enjoy them, of course; I just see them as sort of low-hanging fruit. But I legitimately really enjoyed the discussion in this script. It's more on the nuanced side while also keeping true to the 4 archetypes' usual gimmicks (Trump being an angry contrarian, Obama being the frustrated mediator, etc.). I'm looking forward to the next one!
OMG THIS ABSOLUTELY NAILS IT. You're so spot-on with these caricatures becoming archetype-tools like that. Such a perfect comparison. I'm gonna write the professor I learned about commedia del arte from and make sure he knows about this memeform lol, he'll probably want to use it as an example in classes and will at least get a kick out of it XD
Bro, Azula legit took Ba Sing Sei by herself, killed Aang once, and kept Team Avatar on the run for awhile. She deserved S, especially given her parallels with Zuko and her mental decline later in the show after she had lost everything. An amazing character with, surprisingly, a lot more depth than was previously thought.
"Shout out to Toph for being the only main character to have a last name" Surely, Bush forgot about Kuzon Fire, Wang Fire and Sapphire Fire, the Fire family from Fire Nation🔥
I like that george is becoming more of a reoccuring character in these memes. His character is funny because he's goofy. The ending got me, glad they all could agree 😂😂😂
I want to encourage you to continue making these. These actually sound like real conversations man. Plus the dialogue is ON POINT and not annoying with the same ol "oh shut up sleepy joe" references. Keep these going.
Incredibly civil and reasonable discussion. Trump was so well mannered and relatable. I'm surprised. And also no tired "Sleepy Joe" jokes. I'm gonna sub to see if you have more like these in the making.
The inclusion of GW is fascinating because you can kind of tell the AI is pulling from a lot more footage recorded on analogue/older digital media. He sounds like your listening to him on a TV in 2005.
7:38 although the way Pakku comes back for the finale makes even less sense. Gran Gran literally crossed the entire planet from top to bottom just to avoid marrying him. Suddenly getting engaged again comes out if nowhere. Almost all of Pakku’s development happened offscreen and Gran Gran never does anything after sending Katara and Sokka north at the very start.
Hot take: azula should be s tier and she’s arguably one of the best villains in the whole avatar series her character is well written and her story is so cool how she went from a cool, collected, killer to a psychotic, power hungry, manic who lost her mind also she is one of the main people who progresses the plot and always posed a serious threat to the gang Edit: also cabbage man is s tier idc
bruh that's not really a hot take lol most people put her in A or S tier rightfully so as she is without a doubt the best villain and is overall really well written
She's not that good Her distention into madness basically comes out of nowhere She gets like a minute where she looks a little unhinged after her friends betray her and then boom it's the finally and she's nutso Could have been better written but they didn't have a lot of time being 22 minute episodes and she wasn't integral to the story Still it came out of nowhere almost with no real build up Maybe if she got a couple minutes before the finally building it up but it was a missed opportunity
@@borrachogato2646 the show was planned out years in advance man yes Nick censored SOME stuff like their outfits for the beach episode but not whole character deaths lmao
Sucks to see JeongJeong is still criminally Underrated. I see JeongJeong as very similar to Zuko, but JeongJeong never found his balance like Zuko, and never overcame his struggle of fighting the inner destruction that being a Firebender brings. Also his walls of fire are bad ass on top of being totally accurate to his lore. He doesn't attack people, he creates a wall of fire to push them away
This was great! The sudden change in volume at the outro was WAY too much though, sure it wasn't the most drastic contrast out there but it was enough to suddenly cause me pain (sensory issues, especially when using phone speakers, especially with speech and trebles in general, this is pretty common as sensitivities go) ... so please please please, I hope you make that more evened out next time! Thanks for the hilarious video!
Azula gotta be at least A tier, much like Zuko to Aang, her character serves as an additional foil to Zuko in the later seasons and shows what kind of path he could've went down if he hadn't had Iroh and his mother. Keep in mind she's still a child like the Gaang but comes across as arguably the most intimidating villain in the series. You can't help but feel bad for her, unlike Ozai, because you saw that Zuko was able to be redeemed as a result of proper upbringing and patience. Azula was easily the best villain in the show, and added more weight and tension to every scene that she was in. The last agani kai was imo, the peak of the everything Avatar was and is. Great story telling coupled with the tragedy of living in a world at war as a child, paired with an amazing score as well as the culmination of Zuko's character arc: being willing to sacrifice himself for another. Truly peak imo
Yeah but her insanity was too sudden and poorly handled yes people in real life act normal for years then suddenly snap but in writing you shouldn’t do that your basically saying well it happens in real life so I’m not gonna write about it
Aang is a great character because he’s a literal child who has to come to terms with the fact that his immature actions doomed the world to 100 years of war that would’ve been avoidable. Even trying to imagine what that kind of guilt would be like makes his character really interesting.
New vid: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nuu1--Sn7L0.html Let me know what type of bending you'd pick, and if you enjoyed the video, please subscribe. Thanks :)
The fact that you even had a miniature debate over where Toph went astounded me, Toph IS THE GOAT, THE GOAT better then every single character in atla, I love Iroh but Toph is just awesome.
You might want to space out your sentences more, and include more pauses in their speech. They're all speaking and bouncing off each other a bit too quickly to sound natural. When generating the speech, try putting "..."s in places where you'd normally put commas. That'll give them actual pauses in their speech, and they'll take subtle breaths in longer sentences. It also helps to have them interrupt each other every now and then to give it a more friendly feel.
I was wating for one of them to argue using something from Korra and opening a whole can of worms. Donald came close claiming lava bending is a type of earth bending but noone called him out on it.
Most cartoon shows go on for too long to the detriment. ATLA is one of the few where I think it could have used another book to really bring home a lot more character development and more depth to the plot. Honestly while the last book I felt was serviceable it suffered from a few low points that soured my opinion of the show as a whole. My biggest gripe mostly came with a lot of dues ex machina plot stuff that happened closer and closer to the finale. I still feel the show was better handled than most of Legend of Korra though. (which i think is a fine show but it has some more noticeable flaws then ATLA)
Cabbage Guy is A as he stuck with me more then Aang. Azula is A as she was cray cray & looked good while doing it & certainly being far more of a threat then Zuku or the fire lord emperor guy Ozai ever was. No Azula & after Zuko you basically have no antagonist or good villain. Honestly the only weak point of Avatar was the villains for the most part pretty bad with exception of (The Face Stealer Koh) an easy S which why they didn't give him more screen time is beyond me. Him & the Spirit realm was so under utilized. (Wan Shi Tong) deserves a mention even if not exactly a Villains but gave sinister vibes that would make all the other villains cack themselves but the 'face stealer' mentioned. (Wan Shi Tong) was only used in the library episode but he slapped so another underutilized spirit.. They should have made a spirit that possess the dead, vulnerable, despairing or some sh!t as spirit as a villain after the group is far more engaging.
If I were a bender, I’d choose Earth because 1, it’s literally everywhere, even under the ocean, has the most utility for land-dwelling creatures like humans, and arguably has the most potential and versatility in use
It's funny how likable the characters are, while still staying close to the original personality of the person. It's like a likeable version of each president, except for Obama who seems like a pretty swell dude.
Yeah, I hate the whole argument that characters have to have a shit ton of flaws in order to be a “good character”. It’s like when people say Superman is a bad character because he’s “perfect” despite the fact that he’s arguably a better character than Batman.
Lol the profile pic you chose for Bush is literally the moment he gets told about 9/11 in that famous video where he reads a book to children in class.
7:30 I thought about this a lot. Pakku is a unruly old man fully intending to sabotage the entire water tribe resistance because he can't raise himself higher than children. If they're bickering about Aang being immature this dude couldn't get married and took it out on all women. Elliott- I mean ...pakku is a distorted and demented old man.
