I can never tell how you are supposed to kill the enemy if these are the fights. In movies its like the enemy wants to die and run straight at eachother but yeah that is a movie not real life
@@unox12 There's different ways. Riflemen don't usually get too many chances to smoke bad guys--that's more of a machine gun thing. Almost all the rounds put out by infantry are either to gain and maintain fire superiority, or to maneuver, not so much to "kill" another infantry squad per se. Of course, suppression fire can be used to maneuver closer and make it easier for the soldiers to destroy the enemy in close combat, but in practice, it's safer and easier just to make the opfor crap their pants by outgunning them and dialing them in with things like crew served guns, mortars, ect. Those are the real man-eaters.
Also different squads and trained regiments of the army are tasked with different weapons equipment and operation so I’d say it really depends on where in the country you are deployed and what you are tasked to do
@@chaserodrigue7365 Well, I suppose this is true in the sense that all units are not equally capable--you wouldn't send part-timer minesweepers to execute a DA raid that an available 75th platoon would be more suited to. Weapon familiarization is standardized, though, as is basic fieldcraft, so that's not really the limiting factor. Everyone in one of these videos has at least an intellectual grasp of how to overrun and kill the enemy. They just won't, because that's not really how it works in practice regardless of what the manuals say. Aggressing 300-400m or more over open ground just to get close enough to take accurate shots is not worth the trouble when you can just have one of the MRAPs light them up, or send an aircraft to chase them down.
dismalrealm War is a double edged blade: you can liberate people with it but you can also use it to enslave people. It has even revived once devastated economies... and destroyed them... It’s only as morally good as the people fighting it are.
7:58 Picture this: you're fresh out of college ROTC, where one or two days a week you wear your uniform and take classes/work some field stuff. Now you're 23 and in charge of an infantry platoon of men ranging from 18 to much older than you as an infantry lieutenant, and the bullets start flying. You're getting shot at yourself and everyone is looking to you for what to do, despite your inability communicate over the sound of gunfire. If you make a wrong decision, people die. If you're too indecisive, people die and it's your fault. Hearing that soldier yell "sir, we gotta get more cover here!" really put it into perspective for me. We ask a lot of these men.
So yes we all know that dumbass LT, and yeah they do have a tough job considering there experiance.....but young officers like that which is mostly all of them, are suppouse to use there much more experianced ncoic or any of the troops e-4 and above...officers think they know everything and are afraid to take a bite of that humble pie and use and trust there senior enlisted...everything you just said is sombody that naturaly cant take the stress or they cant put there pride in check.. enlisted lead the way...if you want to be an amazing officer invest the time learning at the lowest level then when you make e-5 _ e6_e7 drop your packet get commisioned..enough said, blow in place.
7:40 the kid yelling "I DON'T WANNA DIE!!!"........has to be a horrible feeling of helplessness and sheer terror. Thank you to all of the veterans and current members of the Armed Forces.
He asked "How is he?" to the guy on his left, the guy on the left looks over towards his left, scans the area, and says "I don't wanna die. Sir we need to get better cover!", he immediately uses the radio and reports a casualty to the west of vic which means vicinity in this case, then radios and has another armored truck move in front of them to provide better cover. Listened and responded immediately with all the information he had. I really hope that guy was okay.
Unfortunately, saying anything along the lines of "I don't want to die" during any kind of engagement is a no no. It brings moral down instantly and puts people in a panic mode. You have to maintain a clear mental status during engagements or mistakes are more likely to be made.
Not terrible cover actually. And they had a nice ditch behind them to fall back to in case of mortar fire or heavier stuff. The terms you hear at the beginning (near side security) is a battle drill. They set up in that spot specifically because there was cover, so they could protect their other squads as they moved through that open field. The fire fight started as they were setting up that security position. Good unit, using bounding overwatch to cross dangerous areas. Some units get lazy and that gets you killed.
Denzel 'My Nigga' Washington when you watch as many Airsoft videos as I do they say anything in the title to draw your attention in but they're always usually great videos.
That’s so true that’s why I skipped ahead to see if it was real if it wasn’t I was going to click off and once I heard those pops go off I was like oh those are big boy rounds
The guy filming this is pretty fucking scared. The guy near the middle of the video who runs toward the bullets, instead of hiding behind a tree and spraying bullets at nothing, that guy is bad ass!!!
Well it is only a tree. This seems like a bad situation. Also I’m only half way through the vid but does home boy on the other tree to the right get up or has he been shot
This video is a testament to how quickly you can get caught in a really bad firefight. For the first minute or so, I almost wanted to be there. It looked so peaceful, rural and warm and then BAM. All of a sudden your fighting for your life and wondering if you'll ever see your kids again.
In reality, your kids are the last thing you think about The first things you think about are "Is this cover sufficient enough" and "Where is the fire coming from" and if you are squad leader you have to think how to use your men right now. My instructor once said "There are only two moments where you are allowed to think about your family, when you got shot or when you are not shot at"
Why do you make kids if you know you signed up/could end up in warzones... How about you go there first, then if you survive it all make kids after? Or if this is not mercenary work then just don't have kids, most of the time you're not at home with family anyways, what's the point?
@@fromchaos6354 And did you not read my comment? I said I almost wanted to be there because of how serene and beautiful it seemed. I'm well aware of the fact that Afghanistan has and still is a war zone. (And has been for the past 19ish years)
This feels so weird. The area they're at is so nice and regular like it's every other road. People just shooting each other and some will die but everything else is just, normal.
@Midas Except he didn't because he ain't in office anymore, nor should he be because he's an incompetent leader, not to say I like Biden either but he's far less self absorbed.
@@Sav-lt2xc They're willing to send children strapped with bombs at us. I have no doubt in my mind they will use an RPG to take out 3 people. Especially when the rest of the unit then has to address those 3 wounded or dead men, it slows them down and weakens them. That would definitely be worth an RPG to me. Especially when, let's not kid ourselves, RPGs are NOT hard to obtain.
Biden is in power. If you think the next four years aren’t going to be splattered with war and military industrial complex contracts you’re a blind idiot.

@@will9603 Honestly, its terrifying. Just knowing that bullets are flying over your head barely missing you its fucking nuts. For example, if you listen very closely, at 7:04 to 7:07 a bullet goes by very close and the sound of it can be heard. Its like a very high pitched whistle. Its fucked up.
@@yungtee5780 theres no harm in just watching the damn video, what kinda title for airsoft is this "pinned down in a firefight" i wouldn't watch that if that was airsoft 😂
Matsimus, what is you experience working with American soldiers? I’m a brand new private in the Army National Guard, and I feel like compared to the Brits or Canadians we lack some of the tradition and refinement said militaries do for the sake of numbers, but at the same time we are still excellent fighters. What you say to this?
Gun play is really not as glamorous as video games or movies make out, this whole situation is long distance fire with the constant fear that a bullet could fly and hit you from any direction. The anticipation of that coming at you must be so stressful.
The only exception to that rule being urban warfare, if what happened in cities like Stalingrad, Berlin, Hue, and even Fallujah is considered proof of this.
Fuck yeah. This is terrifying. Even playing paintball knowing those things hurt can be a mild adrenaline dump. I can’t imagine having little death missiles flying past you and so much of your life or death being left up to luck. Even if you make all the right decisions, and make all the best choices, if you’re in the wrong spot at the wrong second, you could still be dead or maimed in the blink of an eye. Terrifying stuff.
These guys aren't even building a 1x1 let alone cranking 90°s no wonder they're pinned down. In all seriousness I thank everyone involved and hope they all made it home safe.
It is only a war zone from Monday to Thursday’s, Friday’s they do a lot of CrossFit there, Saturday it is used as a dog park, and Sundays are family days.
Lol. They don't know where the enemy is either. They're just popping off rounds at where they think they might've spotted them. Most firefights out in the open fields are like this. I don't know if you've ever played paintball, but the best way I can put it is that firefights are like playing paintball, except you're using real weapons and instead of a paintball field the distances are hundreds and hundreds to way over 1000 yards. At that range it's hard to see a human body, let alone a human body hiding most of their torso behind cover while they fire. Firefights are like lobbing bullets at long ranges at small sparkles or movement, similar to what it's like shooting a paintball 80ft at someone's foot sticking out. This is just an analogy, but I hope you get the picture. It's kinda cool at dawn or dusk where you can see muzzle flashes and tracers very well.
sillybilly121212 breh, go join the service, deploy, get engaged in combat, and then open your mouth again. It’s not all glamour like you think with all of your video games. The is no national force in the world that would want to engage in an all out war with the US just like the US doesn’t want to get into an all out war with them. Just shut your mouth.
@@cameronmiller1497 that’s how i see it as too. I know how to shoot but the anger part gets me. But I’ll never know until I actually get out into a firefight. Let’s hope that never happens for society

I served 6 months in Finnish military and there they told a tree like that wouldn't stop the bullets. The bullet could go through the tree and hit you. These guys don't know the exact location of the enemy and they're just responding to fire crawling there and hoping the enemy is not all around them. What a scary situation to be.
I servered 5 years in South Korean Airborne Force, and We also told those tree wouldn't stop the bullets. almost 85% of battlefields in South-North Korea are forest. But tree can slow down bullet, especially long range from attacker. That makes bullet stopped from bulletproof carrier or plate if we shot through tree. I was operating in '1996 Gangneung submarine infiltration incident, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1996_Gangneung_submarine_infiltration_incident '. And these theory was not enough to make our fear down. Well, North Korean Troopers killed my friend in 21/9 1996, We operated Manhunt misson with our fury, we finally killed those bastards. But I can still remember, that the fear that we couldn't know where bullets fly over to our chest or head, even we can hear gun shots.
Straight up was just thinking that shit. Got in his line of sight and everything. Poor commo bastard. This video should be used to push for a need to make a more compact singars antenna for use by troops on foot patrols.

When I see Afghanistan footage and Iraq footage it just looks as pointless as the Vietnam does now. So fucked up, these are our countries best men and women and these wars have seemed pointless for the last 20 years.
As an Iraqi, agree. Huge and pointless waste of life on all sides, especially civilians, as always. These wars only unleashed more chaos and instability, for what? Resources, geopolitical games played by the crooks in power. While good people everywhere who have more in common with each other have to die.
Sadly all wars of conquest and resources. The wealthy and politicians send desperate, working class people to die. Some guerillas on the other side of the world are no threat to us, even if they're not necessarily good people, but we keep fucking around over there and making it worse.
Vietnam was unnecessary seeing as how "soft" the reds treated the South once they took over it. At least they were not as rotten as the Khemer Rouge. Saddam and Laden deserved it to the full extent. I don't think you know the atrocities that happened on Iraqi soil before Desert Storm.
In video games all those bad guys would have crossed that field and run straight into the line of fire and all the enemy bullets could be healed with a health pack.
