Tonight is the main event! In this episode I put US manufactured paracord to the test versus China manufactured paracord. I compare it in multiple tests to see if one is truly better than the other.
To an extent, I agree with you, especially for cosmetic items. For some of the belts I have made for the prepper community, I want to go with something that will do what they actually are looking for it to do.
And of course he makes belts with it. .___. Make a belt, wear it for a few months, then try and use that paracord. You'll see how utterly useless using paracord as a belt, or even a braided bracelet, is. It's just faff that wannabe's will waste their time and money on. Throw a hank of the stuff in your kit bag camping, IF you go camping. But otherwise it's like buying motorcycle chain when you don't have a motorcycle, making ninja bandanas with it, and claiming it's for when you're in a survival situation and your bike chain brakes even though you don't ride, can't ride, and catch the bus.
You bring up a lot of good points, but I have to disagree with you on the belt/bracelet comment. I have used parts of a belt or bracelet for camping when I had part of my tent break and once when we needed to hang a food bag while hiking in the mountains. If you are using good quality paracord, it works just fine. Granted, there are a lot of people that wear them like jewelry and there is nothing wrong with that, but even that stuff can be used if necessary. Is it going to support a full 167 lbs, probably not, but it will work in a pinch.
