Spain, like England and Germany play free flowing football that gives the US problems in midfield and defense. I see a rise in talent in the European women’s game the past few years. The US may not be as dominant as they have been.
Spain is quickly emerging as the new super power in the women's game. Their under-20 and under-17 teams have already won World Cups this year. It would not be surprising if their senior team completes the trifecta at the WWC next year.
@@zulharriansyahsyamsul3970 I suspect that much. No wonder they are so big on possession. I still couldn't figure out how they lost 0-4 to Japan earlier, but anyway, tonight's final will be most interesting.
@@zulharriansyahsyamsul3970 Real Madrid was barely a team at this point in time. They purchased a local female team a couple of years before and renamed it to Real Madrid.
The team needs a new tactic because some players have no experience. The team needs an experienced and skilled player in attack like the X, and the team is not good
The US was sloppy this time. They have a lot of young players they need time to grow as many rookies are coming in. Shout to Spain that 2nd goal was hella nice.
It was quite a motley crew for the U.S. Veterans like Rapinoe, who just can't keep up for a full game, and a lot of youth without much international experience. USA's squad really wasn't the best out there to try to win the game.
You gotta give Spain due credit - they play well as a team and their strikers are lethal - ever dangerous regardless of which team is dominating on the pitch. Every time they get the ball in the attacking zone, they somehow can manufacture a scoring chance. And those forwards can often make a chance out of nothing. With all of the so-called talent that the USWNT can put up, it looks like their coaching could be better. The USW need a coach that paces the sideline and is emotionally in the game with their players. Those players are not playing up to their potential - they're like a group of individual players that are trying win it all by themselves. The addition of Pickett was a good move; she's a team player, and can distribute the ball well (as well as attack).
the us women started with more skill than the rest of the women's team. the European women have caught up and passed the us women in skill. good thing the women got that contract when they did as they no longer have that bargaining chip.
Pro European clubs are starting to invest seriously in their female sections while this USA teams was getting to a generational end. Things will be much harder for the US in the future, but they will remain important after they rebuild.
In spite of the referee being so forgiving with the US team, Spain was able to overcome this and show who was the best. I think the US deserved to have two players suspended because of their dirty game
Hahaha... no. For instance, Sullivan barely touched the much smaller #15 player who fell like a sack of potatoes. USA probably only started 4-55 players who will mostly start at the World Cup games this year. Swanson and Smith have to be forwards and they can score against any team. As they showed in the 2nd game against Germany. Spain got the win and proved they were the better team on this pitch but it won't be the same in a few months.
It was about two years before this that I knew Spain would rise to the top and that the dominance of the US would stop...and I don't mean diminish...I mean it would stop...possibly fir decades.
Both teams are really good, but I thought the referee was a little too lenient with some of the U.S. players. Alexia Putellas is one of the best players in the world and she is injured, but Spain could be pretty scary with her back in the lineup
She’s not coming back to Spain national team. She’s supporting her other 15 teammates who requested not to be called up while power abuse coach Vilda is still in charge 😞 What a waste of a whole generation by protecting the coach because of his dad!
The injury list for the USWNT is like a mile long. Soooo many of their star players are out due to injury (and two out on maternity leave with a third just returning). So Spain did not play our best team. And these are just friendlies anyway.
@@MySpace662 they're not excuses. When the team has FOUR defenders (O'Hara, Dahlkemper, Davidson) out on injury (and Krueger out on maternity leave), TWO midfielders out on injury (Macario and Sam Mewis and Ertz out on maternity leave) and THREE forwards out (Williams, Heath and the player with the most career goals, Christen Press), you have to acknowledge the injury list. With the exception of O'Hara, those are all STARTING players.
Yeah, this current attacking line up is poor at converting attacks into goals. They can get the ball into the attacking third, but they're consistently failing to convert those opportunities into goals. Their starting line up is on the injury list. TEN players out on injury.
But what cheats the Yankees are. This is football, not that American football crap of yours, what fouls they make. Foul play but the talent wins, not the cheaters.
Andonovsly is not a high quality coach. I could tell right away when I first saw him being appointed as a head coach of uswnt, that this guy is an 'mid-level', and him being a head coach will manifest the decrease of the quality of the American teaml and eventually lead to it's downfall. This is quite obvious. In all, he just took a brilliant team composed by Jill Allis, and wore it down. He is not the coach with a vision and an imagination. Sorry, but he is just NOT the right coach for the team of this level .
