Outstanding. Robbie Robinson was the Commander/Leader and a great example in every way. Robbie exemplified everything we expect from the best of the best. What a privilege to fly with him on his last flight. Thank you for everything.

My father is Doug Brenner, Right Wing in this film. He was part of the Thunderbirds team from 1956-1958. I am the baby in the film and that part of it was done in 1957, my birth year. Hope this clears up the time period.

Hi Nancy, maybe your father visit Buenos Aires in 1957. Do you remember something about this? There's no much photos of this days.

I saw them at Bartow Air Base, Florida in August 1956. The occasion was the retirement of the T-6. All the North American Aviation brass was there along with demos by the Thunderbirds and an F-86. One of the solos, flown by future Skylab astronaut Wm. Pogue, broke the sound barrier at low level .. I was a young kid but I'll Never forget it. It is my understanding that it was the last time they were allowed to go supersonic in a demo over the continental US.

That's great - My dad was an instructor for several Thunderbirds in 1956-58. He may have known your Dad. His name was LTC Charles C. Jones. Retired RAF Lakenheath in '65.

My grandfather is John “Bart” Bartley who was the other wing in this film! Also part of the T-Birds team from 56-58. When they were having their “pep talk” in this film, Bart was the furthest on the left. Also the shortest! Funny coincidence Nancy!

Lead pilot Robbie Robinson was my Uncle. I remember him sending me a ton of Thunderbird stuff especially at Christmas. Those of you who remember Steve Canyon and all the toys by Ideal like the Steve Canyon flight helmet and fighter jet simulator for Christmas, I got decals from Robbie to convert it to a Thunderbird helmet. Pretty cool for a 6 year old.

Love that kinda corny 50's era narration and the voice-over "...welcome home Thunderbirds!" in the opening scene. Plus the all-American flexing-our-muscles bit to close. Great share.

First time I saw the Thunderbirds was in the F-100Ds. Still my favorite Thunderbird aircraft. That aluminum skin was so highly polished you could shave in it.

The best looking of all the T-birds aircraft. What a privilege it was to fly the Hun for nearly 2,000 hours.

Thanks for y’all’s service! My grandpa taught many mechanics on how to work on aircraft, from 52-88! He taught me a lot about aircraft! He always said the F-100 was one of the loudest aircraft he had ever heard when it was taking off! Rip grandpa died 2019!

The North American F-100 Super Sabre was one of the first supersonic jet fighters ever built, and the first such aircraft the U.S. Air Force put into service. The Air National Guard continued using it until recently.

Just noticed something; the Thunderbird motif on the underside of the fuselage & wings can be seen here in only about three scenes, while in the outtakes, you see it throughout. Obviously, this was filmed during that transitional period from 1958 to early 1959.

Wonder if the team have ever used the phrase "Thunderbirds are Go" when they arrive over the field. Lol

Not one show in 400 has been cancelled due to mechanical trouble. Is that a reliable figure HAL? Yes that is a totally reliable figure.

F-16s And F/A-18s have served since ‘87 or ‘86 and are THE longest in service for Blues&Birds ! Soon a new Gen of Aircrafts will serve But also I wish I could’ve seen other craft too essentially the F-4 as they are the only ones to serve Both Simultaneously!!
