Agreed fully, he is one of the greatest athlete, legend, a hard worker and a genetic individual talent, but the real reason for his retirement and lack of motivation was mostly the development of ped testing and the new subject lists of the wada. and don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this to diminish his achievements, but because it's true.

Blake's 200m was faster than Bolts before wind adjustment, and he also covered the distance faster after his start (because Bolt's reaction was faster, his overal time was also faster) so it's conceivable that the 200 record could fall (although we've hardly seen an athlete on par with Blake never mind Bolt) Nobody has ever come within a tenth of a second of his 100 time, I think that will stand until the sun explodes. To call the guy a generational talent is an unspeakable understatement - I think we've seen the marathon equivalent in Kelvin Kiptum, but I'm just sorry he never had the chance to put his world record completely out of sight for the next 100 years
@009Daft600 well yes, but being able to run 100m in under 9.6s or a marathon in under 2hrs aren't exactly selection pressures - obviously we become more efficient and we'll develop better gear and training regimes in the future, but these are narrow advantages that won't single handedly take 0.2s off your 100m or 2 minutes off your marathon - in our own lifetimes, we won't see another like Bolt or Kiptum, that's what I'm saying
