Interesting. USB Batteries seem redundant. Why not skip the batteries and just make the pedal chain USB powered? A battery is a battery for that purpose. It's self contained and has life expectancy. This seems like more trouble than it's worth. It's good research and development though....
You´re right darkstar it IS more trouble than it´s worth. I took it as a challenge to make things better with regard of USB 9V batterys in general whether for guitar pedals or something completely different. Labeling a 8.4V battery as 9V is at least missleading. The project started as a usb powered active pickup system what failed completely ... but that´s an other story.
