I'd love to see a speed test comparison, I heard the USB 2.0 bus on the inside was slower than the wifi chip. Just wondering. But I do think there should be more options. Thanks for the video
I've been using this type of setup for years, but I opted for the USB 3.0 version hub instead. Also, I am able to connect my merged internal storage USB stick to an empty USB port on the hub to expand storage capacity which works wonders. Lastly, based on numerous tests I've ran, I've noticed that only SanDisks USB sticks were successful when expanding internal storage.
Do all USB to ethernet multiport adapters work? What are some tips you can give on buying one that works on Xiaomi Mi Box S? Please also give some models.
Hi, thanks for this video. I have the Ugreen USB & Ethernet Hub that works perfectly. But it has one problem. When Mi Box wakes up it does not connect to internet. I am made to turn off the Mi Box from socket and turn it on again. After that it works. To avoid turning off and on all the time I canceled the sleep mode for Mi box and it is on all the time 24/7. I wonder if it can cause malfunction of my Mi Box?
i just bought the ugreen ethernet usb , at the manual it says that need the driver need to be install before using ,but when i plug the ugreen ethernet at my amazon fire tv cube , so far its working fine without install/download the driver i just plug and play , speed test run so far so good , usb port also so far also smooth.. so my question did i still need to install the driver at my amazon tv cube sir ?
I have USB stick that powers the internet to my personal computer, Can i use this product to connect using Ethernet cable to my other PC and also power the internet? It's like sharing the internet.
I did purchase this and the keyboard works flawlessly but u fortunately it did not speed up my MIBOX, it actually slowed down. So back to wireless which is not a big deal I needed keyboard much more.

However, the USB port on the MI Box is USB 2.0. So if a USB drive is used as an extended internal storage.. It will not be fast and will not add up to the user experience.. Should be OK for streaming MM Content though
Would a straight U Green USB to ethernet adapter work plugged into a U Green USB 3 port USB/SD card hub then plugged into the MiBox? I required a TF card slot so got one of those hubs but would now like a wired network connection.

I have several streaming devices including a mi box, and I would really like an Ethernet option so I can get rid of the lag and stuttering on my Chromecast devices, but I can't find an adapter with the usb hubs too with the Ethernet connection that says it would be compatible. I connected the ugreen's adapter but I get a maximum speed test and 100 MB upload and download. As if there is some limitation of xiaomi itself. The adapter is 1 Giga. I have a 1 gigabyte internet and at the moment the box does not take advantage of it wirelessly only wirelessly so I get to the 250 mega area.

LAN speed is slower I have the USB 3.0 great internet and still slower than the wifi signal on difference is ur signal won't drop on the lan line.. My set up is mi box - J5create 3.0 usb gigabit Ethernet 3-port hub. And over 150mbps
The USB on the box is 2.0 so it can only move data at 2.0 speed. The other thing to consider is the LAN speed thru a Ethernet cable, the 3.0 can do 10/100/1000 and the 2.0 is 10/100 Mbps, which should be more than you need. Unless you have a box with a 3.0 port the 3.0 cable is just overkill on this box, IMO.

Some bluetooth keyboard are incompatible, so I steer clear of bluetooth keyboards. My one works with USB dongle and that keyboard works on every single TV box, inc PC Mac and even PS4.

This is my second Mi Box, the first one I had the "ethernet" option to set up, but this one does not. I can turn off WiFi, but there's no way to connect to the ethernet even though I have it plugged in as before.
Does the ugreen hub have a external power source if one want to add it? I assume if you are using all three USB ports at once and the ethernet, it will not have enough power?
Do you believe that any cheap hub would work? Not for Ethernet just for extra usb slots to have a remote dongle and a storage expansion for example. Thanks
Works perfectly with my Mi Box S but when i use it in my TCL S6500 android tv to increase internal storage after formatting USB as device storage the USB gets disconnected from device storage but keeps showing as internal storage, what can be the issue?

It may be working when connected, but what happens when the Mi Box goes to sleep? I've heard these ugreen adapters based on the ASIX88772 chipset (or whatever it is) cannot wake up and we need to either reboot Mi Box or replug the adapter. Which is a deal breaker.
Yes it is, got my mibox with ugreen hub, and ethernet connexion stop working after wake from sleep, i have to reboot every time, so this hub is out for me.

Greetings you! I was wondering how to I unformat my 8tb external Hardrive on my Android Tv Box, so I can use all my 8tb instead of the 1.3tb storage which it now only sees, after formatting. I formatted my Hardrive only for portable usage (not format for "this device only") thinking it would still allow me to use my entire 8tb storage, but come to find out after formatting, it doesn't. I would like to unformat my hard drive, and place storage access back to Internal Storage, so I can have the full use of the 8tb storage. If you could please get back to me with some info, If you happen to know, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly! (Note: I do not need to restore/recover files. Only to regain usage of my new 8tb storage external hard drive)
