What is Bitpim?

@@diyotaku It's the only software that was around in the early 2000s to upload custom wallpapers and ringtones to flip-phones in North America. If you were lucky enough to find a datacable for your phone. Apparently the software is still around but few actually use it today I should think. Manufacturers decided to discourage data access by making it very difficult because they would sell custom ringtones in the digital market place for a couple dollars each (30 seconds of an MP3). So imagine how many friends you made when you told them you can put any ringtone or wallpaper on their phones for free thanks to a bit of engineering, Audacity, and BitPim. This peaked around the time the first Motorola Razor came out. Couple years after that touchphones started to become a thing and they had their own USB data access protocols that would mount a volume to the supporting OSes and BitPim was forgotten.
