Fucking love this song. Played it as a pep tune my sophmore year in High School. Such a great song. And that drumline feature was fire. This makes me miss marching season so much.
my band played this song for mardi gras in Mobile's parade in 2011.....boy mobile loved us. we were the only band to march and play the entire Parade. It's A Tuba Thang!
While this is probably the best arrangement for a large marching group you'll find, it bothers the life out of me that there is no soloist for the trombone parts during the chorus. The entire piece is empty without it.
I've asked this rhetorical question before and it bears repeating. Why doesn't the Drum Major have a scabbard to put that clunky sword in when it's not in use? Did they break the bank 🏦 when 🤔 they designed the costume?!
i like it but i feel like they are playing it to technically. i think they need to play it more loosly. also i would slow the tempo down a little. in a sense play drums a little "behind the beat" and horns a bit more "sloppy" if you will. but over all verry good playing
my band is fucking trash and there’s too many freshmen and we don’t get to play this bc of them bc they suck at memorizing music. it’s honestly a shame bc this has to be my favorite stand tune
