STRAIGHT-UP STIRRING! I remember it from the movie "Captain form Castile" as a kid and also from USC football games. But nothing prepared me for the first time I heard it at the pregame on campus before my first football game as a student. Every home game, The Spirit of Troy marches to the fronts of Bovard and the Doheny Library and plays Fanfare/Conquest/Fight On after which everyone follows them into the Coliseum for the start of the game. It was captivating, stirring and mindblowing on every level then and still is when I return 'HOME' to USC for a game! FIGHT ON FOREVER!!
I remember the first time I heard it played at the Rose Bowl game and it was like "wow". I maybe from the hills of Tennessee but I appreciate good music. It's the top tune in Div. I schools. GBO
Stirring! Rousing! Call to victory! Who played, when and where, this glorious piece. Certainly not current USC musicians -- not young enough! Alumni? Thanks.
At first I was laughing at the Reggie bush painting, because he put usc on probation. Then a couple of seconds later I saw the oj Simpson painting, and completely forgot about Reggie Bush!
Thank you Carlos, I am a USC graduate (1985), but when I was much younger I lived in the Seattle, WA area. When not rooting for USC, I root for the Huskies! ... Jerry
I wonder how many times we'll hear conquest when USC leaves the friendly confines of the colloseum and Rose Bowl for a freezing visit to State College, Ann Arbor or even Iowa in November. We won't appease them like ND does by playing in warmer weather....Hey and the irony is it will be glorious to send USC back home with another B1G loss... WELCOME TO THE B1G!!!!!! PS And as always. 'Fight on'!
